It is a captivating destination that offers a mix of history, culture, and natural beauty, making it ideal for tourists. We enjoyed the garden and pool area as well as the tourist attractions nearby. Not ideal for making meals; however, the restaurant has a nice selection and the wine is also exceptional. Very neat and tidy, also private, which was wonderful.
The place was homely and had everything we needed. I stayed with my parents - we were in Stellenbosch for my graduation. The complimentary bottle of wine and rusks were a wonderful treat. There was a bit of loud TV noise from the main house next door, but this only lasted until about 21:30-22:00.
Beautiful surroundings. Very nice place, clean and tidy with two comfortable rooms and bathrooms, but be prepared that it is not self-catering. There is a dish on the floor for washing dishes and you have to get water in the bathroom because there are no other taps. There is crockery and cutlery, but no other kitchen utensils such as bowls, pots and pans, and there is only a microwave and a small bar fridge. Also no table to sit at in the Cottage. The garden is beautiful and you can relax there with the garden furniture.
Our experience was always with a resting heartbeat - unhurried, uncomplicated in a landscape that gently welcomes.
It was pleasant and safe.
The accommodation was clean and functional. The dish for washing the cups etc. is uncomfortable as it has to be done in the bathroom. At least that's how it's advertised and we were aware of it. All that bothered me was the TV which was very loud in the unit next to it. I mistakenly thought the units were detached units but they are attached to the house.
The unit met our expectations. It was neat, safe and spacious. Note that there is no kitchenette for self-catering, but there is a fridge, microwave and kettle in the living room. For us this was not a problem, as there are two places to eat on the farm within walking distance. The lighting in the bedrooms is rather dark. It was e.g. impossible to lie down and read with the roof light and bedside lights on. Luckily we had our headlamps handy. The garden is beautiful and rich in flowers. There is plenty to do within walking distance. We enjoyed it and had a great stay!
Easy to reach and you are out of the bad traffic. Unfortunately, there was no decent breakfast available due to functions in the afternoon. This is a cosy cottage with lots of beautiful garden around it.
