We slept well, had a good barbecue and were in good spirits when we woke up with 2 zebras on our porch. What a lovely experience.

The only improvements I could suggest would be to practice pest treatments regularly to eradicate more than usual bugs. Pool should be repainted/coated and cleaned as it was somewhat cloudy. Floor rugs need to be replaced with better quality rugs or at least secured with underlay so they do not shift or become trip hazards. Everything else was great and charming, as well as comfortable given the budget. We would certainly book it again. Wonderful, quieter location and good graded roads from asphalt main road.

Mariaan the owner, kept us informed daily about loadshedding. Forwarded the daily schedule. When there was a water problem due to a burst pipe, she gave us feedback on the progress of the repair work. Great Marian. I recommend the place for people who want to relax, the animals come to drink water in front of the house and there are feeding troughs to feed the animals. Very quiet and great shade trees.

A real Granny's place, just because of the dated furniture, but had everything we needed and spotless. The best value for money. We will definitely consider another visit in the future. The beds are very comfortable and linen good, just don't forget your soft pillow if you use one! We were 2 couples, so we lived downstairs, the stairs to the 2 single beds on a mezzanine are rather steep for us mature citizens. We had warthogs, giraffe, zebra and mongoose visit regularly.

What a lovely place, have stayed at Marloth Park before. First time in Granny’s Place, lots of animals come by daily for food and water. Even heard the lions roaring last night. Would definitely stay again, thank you.

There are a few things that need to be tended to. The road to the cars are very rocky and uneven and it is difficult for elderly to walk there. The closet door's screws are all loose and some of the crockery almost fell out. My husband tried to fix things where he could. The last morning wasn't annoying. We were supposed to check out at 09:00 bit the cleaner showed up at 08:00 already. She started taking of the linen and towels and placed it in the washing machine while we were still busy packing. We ended up not having a cloth to dry dishes, and no towels to dry hands. Otherwise we don't have any complaints. The house was very neat and clean.

Granny's Place is really a very cute place, securely fenced, neat, clean, comfortable. There is everything one could need. The tranquility of sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee early in the morning was delicious for us. In the evenings we also sat there and then we received regular visits from the big kudu bull that visited every evening, the fruit bat, the beautiful night monkeys and the one night the civet cat was also behind the splash pool. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some peace and quiet. To the owners, I just want to say thank you very much for allowing us to enjoy your piece of paradise for a week!

What a pleasant place, very neat, well equipped, the garden is lush. Animals walk around the house with no rush. Thank you Mariaan, for being friendly and helpful. A place I'd definitely recommend.

One can clearly see that the owners go to a lot of trouble with the place. From the kitchen to the bathroom, beds and braai-area. Everything is in a good condition. We have stayed at other places in Marloth and this one is by far the best of all. The 3 single beds on the top floor is close enough to the aircon in the sitting room and as the description says, the other two rooms have their own aircon so you don't have to worry about the warm summer months. The kitchen has all the basic necessities you want on holiday, with a few extra luxuries like oven pans and dishes and the fridge is very big with more than enough room (it is a double door fridge and freezer). The small space that is available for you to park you car within the gate gives you extra peace of mind, especially if you are there with 2 vehicles and have to leave one behind when spending time in the game park (just be warned that longer bakkies might not fit, we have a Toyota Yaris and it was quite cramped). The kudu come to visit every evening at sunet and the blue wildebeest greets you every morning. Right in front of the house is a feeding trough that you can fill and peacefully watch from the braai fireside. Because of an emergency that happened while we were there, we had a little more interaction with the owners and agents as one would normally have, and they were very friendly and helpful. The house itself is in the quieter area of Marloth, which means you have to drive a bit further but it is worth the effort. We didn't see or hear the neighbours, not even once and could sit in the dark and quiet and listen to the sounds of the night (bushbabies and lions especially) and just watch the stars.

We had such a peaceful stay in Granny's Place. It is fully equipped with everything you might need. The fact that Granny's Place is fenced gave me peace of mind with my 15 month old son and he played in the garden and could watch at a safe distance to look at all the animals who made a turn at the feeding oasis. When next we go the game park, we will definitely stay at Granny's Place again. This is now our bushveld getaway home.
