It's a working farm, so expect farm sounds!
We had a great stay at Green Thumb. The house is clean, tidy and comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. Would definitely recommend it.
Beautiful farm and very nice owners. Lovely spacious and tidy facility.
Accommodation was adequate. Sheets were clean but not ironed. Place was dusty. No lighter or matches.
We chose Green Thumb because it got good reviews on the internet that the accommodation was comfortable and that the ponds had plenty of fish. We were not disappointed! We love farm life and it was wonderful to stay on a working farm and experience it. Ilze as hostess was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of her way to make us feel at home. We caught a lot of black bass and had a great time.
The cottage is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We were greeted by a friendly owner who made us feel welcome. It is a little bit further (10 min) off our route to Kruger but the peaceful farm setting was well worth it.

This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The house is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need. Wood was supplied for the fireplace in the living area, which was nice and cozy. We played some board games, which were provided, and had a nice braai on the stoep. We had a walk around on the farm, and down to the dam, very relaxing. I highly recommend The Green Thumb if you want to breakaway for some peace and quiet.

We were very kindly received with a fire in the fireplace. Must be a lovely place to stay in seasons other than midwinter. A tip: Place a jug with emergency water in the house in case the water pipes freeze.
We had a great time, unfortunately the dirt road to get there is very bad. The accommodation was very neat and everything was very clean.
Our bodies and souls enjoyed the farm visit! Creative wall decorations in our overnight cottage, crackling fireplace in the evening, lush green landscape was a quiet experience. Our hostess Ilze spoiled us with butter (which we forgot) and the sweetest plums ever! Our daughter was able to help drink the hanslammers - a great privilege for a city child.
Would recommend Green Thumb to anyone and stay there again when in the area.

We stayed in house 1 and the house needs new mattresses and a stove and a braai. Don't know how hot it will be there in the summer under an asbestos roof with no ceiling. There was no air conditioner. It is very quiet and peaceful which is a plus.

We had a lovely relaxing weekend very close to where we live. The place is beautiful with everything you need. Ilze and Michael are extremely friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful experience to be able to stay on a real farm. Fresh air, green pastures and sheep walking happily past you. The children enjoyed it so much and ran after the lockers. The owners were friendly and helpful. The most beautiful clean nature we have experienced. Even our teenage daughter wants to come back and stay longer next time. The house was probably once a barn and gives that nice farm feeling. Clean and tidy and everything you need. The fireplace heats the whole place and contributes to a nice visit with board games to choose from as well as outside games. We were there on a cold rainy weekend and we will definitely go back for a summer weekend also to fish in the pond. I would recommend it to any family who would like to get out of the city and just feel what it would be like to be on a farm.
We were 4 adults and a 6 year old looking to bird the Chrissiesmeer area. The birding was only so-so. The farm was accessible to us and the owners super friendly. It should be noted that there are 2 couples beds in effectively the same room and a single in the lounge (I thought the single was in the loft that shared the main bedroom). A family looking to have a relaxed stay on a working farm should certainly consider this place.
We were looking for accommodation for the weekend seeing that my wife had to work in Ermelo. After a a lot of searching we found this beautiful place. The guest house is part of a farm with a lot of space for walking, biking, and our favourite ─ fishing. Ilze, the owner, was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We really recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away for a night or a week.
