31 guests' feedbackWe had a wonderful weekend at Groenvlei cottage. Everything went smoothly, the cottage is lovely, tastefully furnished, everything we needed was in there. Comfy beds, extra blankets, reading lamps, all kitchen requirements. Cozy fireplace (though we didn't use it), outside braai, cushions for outside chairs. We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda braaing and chatting, walking on the farm. It's very close to Waterval where we hiked into the mountains and saw lovely flowers and waterfalls. All in all a fabulous stay.
Relaxing and very peaceful.
The cottage was neat, tidy, and well-equipped. The owner/host was eager to help and considerate throughout the duration of our stay, as we arrived on a day with pouring rain. The cottage has a perfect fireplace that allows for an indoor braai. The farm and surroundings offer much to explore for those seeking adventure. It's a perfect stay for families or individuals, especially artists who want to paint, write, or do photography. It also offers a real farm experience.
This is such a lovely cottage. It is well and generously equipped with good quality bedding, appliances, cutlery, and crockery, etc. Very comfortable, good showers, beautiful views, and a lovely stoep. I really enjoyed it and would love to go back.

The accommodation is highly recommended, very clean, homely, and comfortable atmosphere, and so well equipped, lacking nothing, all sorts of condiments you need. And oh, the most delicious rusks! We had a great time.

Our trip was very enjoyable and very relaxing. Location of Cottage was perfectly located. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the silence and the greenery of Groenvlei.
Service was excellent and seamless from the start. The cottage is a perfect and in excellent condition. We were all very comfortable and needed nothing more. This is the perfect place to come to forget that the rest of the world exists and to truly relax. The kids enjoyed swimming in the dam and we enjoyed the absolute peacefulness of the farm. Marelise made us feel welcome throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend Groenvlei for anyone who needs a break from the city and suburban life.

It was everything we had hoped it would be. A nice break away that is not too far from home. A nice time away from home. The place was clean and is well cared for. The self-check-in was great and yet the hostess, Marelise, was always available. Just the mattress on the bed was a bit on the soft side.
We lacked nothing! Bought the most delicious thorn wood on the farm and made a fire all weekend and had a good time!
What a gorgeous, hidden gem that is a hop and skip away from Porterville - such stunning views and so nicely set up! A better cottage couldn't be found for a two night stay. Will definitely be back!
Marelise is an excellent hostess, nothing is too much trouble for her. We had a wonderful stay. The cottage has everything you need and everything is neat and organized. Definitely a first class option if you are looking for accommodation in Porterville.
What a gorgeous stay we had, one of us was in a wheelchair so we're always weary of places that say Wheelchair friendly as they aren't always but other than there being a step to the stoep the house was wonderfully accessible and good fun for Emmy 1 year old to run around too, very safe. Wi-Fi and TV was awesome and the amenities provided were awesome. Thank you for the stay.
Beautiful unit with more than needed. Marelise is incredibly friendly, hospitable and always available, not that we needed anything during our stay. Unit is private and gives a sense of tranquility. The layout is practical and the decor makes you feel immediately at home on the farm.
Our only inconvenience was the wind that got up when we wanted to braai and we had to move the braai drum and chairs to the back of the house. Otherwise, a most enjoyable stay, thank you!
The only suggestion would be installing a pool at the cottage.

Made a nice fireplace, played games, slept warm. Everything in the kitchen you need, from coffee, tea, milk, biscuits, napkins, foil!
We Found Everything We Needed. Loved the Decor & Country Setting.
Landscape in front of cottage is dull stripped fields. Not exactly a place to stay in the summer, especially more than one day. Pond with birds within walking distance of house is a plus. Felt somewhat unsafe, no burglar bars in front of windows. Well a security gate in access road from main road, but no security fencing. Had trouble getting television to work, but managed after inquiries from Wilna.
The place would be perfect for the hot summer days if there was a plunge pool or air conditioning. It was terribly hot. We felt it could be cleaner, our crawling baby got awfully dirty.

We really enjoyed everything there. It's awfully cute.
Lovely, clean cottage, but location not great as it's too close to the R44 and safety on farms is an issue at the moment. We did not feel safe as there is no security. Dam is not suitable for swimming. Cold and not facing the sun which is not great for winter but probably perfect for summer. Had to ask for blankets which were not enough for warmth in the bedrooms. No floor rugs or bathroom mats which made for a cold stay.
