Grootklip embodies everything that is magical about the Karoo, from the unrivaled hospitality of the hosts to the magnificence of the views. Thank you Lisa, for sharing that healing space with us. My body learnt to breathe all over again, in the beautiful silence and scenery. The cottage is unpretentiously well appointed, and so comfortable with everything that we needed. Loved the quirky bits of history dotted around! We had forgotten to buy bread and Lisa so kindly supplied us with the ingredients for fresh farm bread, already measured out. (Which meant I couldn't make a mistake but could take all the credit!) We can't decide whether to take friends back for a fabulous kuier, or whether to save this gem for soul and healing time for the 2 of us. Bottom line is, we will be back!

It was a lovely weekend with our two adult daughters. The facilities were great, the views unbeatable and the swimming in the 2 baths in the middle of nowhere simply unforgettable! The stars literally take one's breath away.

As we arrived on that sunny Friday afternoon, the promise of spring hung in the air, setting the stage for a memorable weekend. The farmhouse, nestled against the backdrop of majestic mountains, exuded a unique stillness that embraced our bodies, minds, and souls. The outdoor experience was nothing short of magical. We found ourselves captivated by the beauty of the sunset, grilling our meals during the golden hour while the sun dipped behind the mountains. The spacious rooms welcomed us with open arms, and the beds were more than just comfortable—they were a sanctuary of relaxation. As the weekend unfolded, nature decided to gift us with rainy and windy days. However, the farmhouse had a secret weapon: the fireplace in the family room. It became the heart of our indoor haven, providing warmth and a cozy atmosphere as the raindrops danced on the windows. The farmhouse's fully equipped kitchen proved to be a delight for those who enjoy the art of cooking. Even with the unpredictable weather, we were able to whip up delicious meals and savor them in the comfort of our abode. The surrounding scenery, even in the midst of rain and wind, maintained its charm, offering a different yet equally enchanting experience. Grootklip Farmhouse is more than just a destination—it's a versatile haven for any weather situation. Whether basking in the sunlight or seeking refuge from the elements, this farmhouse provides the perfect escape. The blend of comfort, natural beauty, and thoughtful amenities makes it a must-experience destination for those in search of a tranquil getaway.

This Karooplaas is the perfect resting place to relax and forget about city life. Here, guests can experience the Karoo in silence, and in complete isolation — walking, cycling, reading, or sitting on the veranda and peering into the distance. The spacious farmhouse is comfortably furnished with Karoo-chic furniture and decor. I immediately felt at home with the displays of hospitality: home-baked biscuits, fireplace wood, blossoms in a flower pot and fresh, ground coffee. The beds, linen and towels are of excellent quality and I had a blissful night's rest. The WiFi was a luxury. Wish I could stay longer! Grootklip is ideal for a group of friends or a family who want to experience the heart of the Karoo.

Grootklip is the perfect place for all types of people, whether you want to just sit on the stoep and take in the magnificent views (sunrise and sunsets are unrivalled here) & enjoy the bird life, have a braai, or be more energetic with a hike up the koppie, or biking. The farmhouse is super comfy and spacious, with everything you could possibly need. If you're in need of a getaway to reconnect with your people, yourself and nature, this piece of heaven on earth is it. P.S. It is also close enough to Nieu Bethesda if you're wanting a trip to the village for the day.
