Spent a night with family. Lovely place, clean, rustic, quaint and well maintained. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would definately stay here again.
Had a great evening at Guest Lodge on the Edge, right next to the Storms River, on the perimeter of Thornham. The hosts were exceptionally friendly, and so were their turkeys and peacock. We could walk across the Storms River N2 bridge from their garden, through a gate that they unlocked for us. Clean towels, bedding, tea, coffee, etc. were provided and there was a fridge and microwave in our room which was super useful. Nice and close to Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve and a host of other activities in the area, with beautiful views of the mountains.
My friends arrived first, and they received the keys to my room because I arrived much later. The owners were very accommodating and friendly.
Host was very helpful and nice. Unfortunately the location is against the N2 and the house was noisy throughout the night. Slept badly and therefore drove early the next day.
Had a great stay. The pool could have been a little cleaner.
We had an okay stay as the bed comfort was average and the shower door as well as tap fittings were loose.
Right on N2. Very noisy. No bedside lamps. TV didn't work. Window couldn't open. WiFi very weak.

Reception was very friendly. Room next door had small children busy until late. Small section of road to guest house is dirt road.
The owner and his son are very good and faithful people. The bathroom is just not set up for older people. We no longer get in and out of the bath so easily. The garden is beautiful.
My stay was very pleasant, the host was very friendly and nice, we had a lekke stay there. The one thing I found difficult was reading the board, maybe they should put a more visible and bigger board up, I drove past without noticing it.
The accommodation is very central but not necessarily suitable for families with small children. The explanation for sharing a bathroom with the rest of the guests is not clear. Backpackers will have a very nice stay.

Location is unbeatable and owners are very hospitable. However, facilities are not up to standard. At the very least, there should be amenities for coffee and own meals in the rooms. Air conditioning is also needed.

The environment makes a neglected impression. The Lodge is right next to the N2, if you like traffic this is the ideal place. If the traffic is not noisy, somewhere you hear someone snoring or coughing, i.e. the walls are very thin. Room 1 is directly next to a kitchen of sorts. Early in the morning there is a noise with pots and pans and cupboards and a radio playing rock hard. Don't take a shower in the morning, because you might be standing in the water that the dishwasher next door pushes up the shower drain. Probably the fact that one has to pay everything in advance is precisely to prevent the guests from leaving immediately.
We had a warm welcome. Room was neat, tidy and clean. Location is perfect for exploring the area.

The directions to the lodge area a problem, especially after dark.
My friend and I had an amazing trip over all, we stayed in Guest Lodge on the Edge for 4 days and from the beginning we felt very welcomed. Semonia (the host) and I communicated a lot prior to our trip because we were not familiar with the place, I had a lot of questions and she was always available to answer.
Friendly host and hostess. Ideal location. Clean linen and towels. Guesthouse, however, still needs a lot of attention, upgrading and finishing. Garden neglected. Water flows out from the shower onto the floor. One room did not have a kettle. Room doors are not painted. Tiles broken by shower taps. Photos on site are a bit misleading. However, there is much potential.

We experienced exceptional hospitality from each and every member of the Bruinders family. The pleasant time spent with them around the kitchen table will be cherished forever.
First night children make noise until after 00:00. What about the 10pm rule that there must be silence? Cars in main road also obstructed.
