We had a very nice stay. Quiet, nice neighborhood. The hospitality of the owners immediately made us feel at home. They went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. The room is clean and tidy with everything we needed to spend the night comfortably and rest well. A bonus was that we were not affected by load shedding at all! We will definitely spend the night there again should the opportunity arise to travel through Swellendam again.

My sons stayed there for one night, they were impressed with the mattresses and also the electric blanket on the beds. It was very nice for them to be able to sleep there.

The room is basic, and neat. It's not exactly cozy and there are e.g. not a garden where one can sit.
The room had a funny smell, has a communal kitchen, to me it felt like being in a hostel. Television had no decent channels to watch.

Very neat and clean. Everything you need with friendly service. Wish we could have stayed longer in the beautiful old house with its contemporary charm. Definitely coming again.
Room was also nice and warm with the panel heater. Bed also has warm sheets on it which was perfect for the cold night. Plenty of room to move around in the room with a very nice bathroom.

I had an in-out business trip to Swellendam, arriving after dark and leaving at 7am. I was totally charmed by this lovely house with its courtyard and well-kept garden. My room was just perfect. A good size with a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. I used the well equipped kitchen to heat up the dinner I'd brought along. Marius so very kindly met me on arrival. This trip was one of those that was initially booked and that then hung in limbo until confirmed on Monday morning (I left the same day to drive through). Marius and Rachelle were very accommodating with my plan changes and unconfirmed arrangements. It is such a pity that my stay was so short. I look forward to having more time on my next visit to explore the town and to sit on the patio of my room enjoying the courtyard garden. I will definitely book here again.
Can highly recommend the guest house. Five star treatment. It was a perfect holiday. Room is beautiful and bathroom extremely well equipped. Guest house has a friendly peaceful atmosphere and is very nicely furnished. Extremely clean and tidy. Truly one of the top guesthouses I have visited in a long time.

We were not only kindly greeted and welcomed, upon inquiry as to whether our car with luggage would be safe overnight, the use of the garage was unhesitatingly offered at no additional cost. This speaks of genuine peasant cordiality! All our basic needs were met and more. Anyone can book a place to stay here or take a holiday with peace of mind. Thank you very much for the good service.

We had a great stay and will stay here again. The included breakfast of an egg and toast and coffee was smaller than at other guesthouses but there is the option to upgrade to a larger breakfast for a fee.
Would definitely recommend La Rachelle guesthouse and would personally make use of it in the future. It suited our requirements while at conference - quality linen, quiet, clean and a pretty garden with a nook for smokers. Breakfast on time, light bulbs replaced immediately - quick friendly service. When we arrived at LaRachelle there was a heat wave in the whole area so it was very hot, but after a visit to the berry farm we were warmly welcomed by the owner. What a comfortable place to stay, we would definitely stay at LaRachelle's again!
