My recent stay at the Guinea Vine was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was met with warmth and comfort. The room I stayed in was not only spotlessly clean, but also incredibly comfortable. It's clear that the owners take great pride in maintaining their establishment to the highest standards. The bed was inviting, and the extra blankets and towels provided added a touch of luxury to my stay. It's the little things that truly matter, and the thoughtfulness of the hosts was evident throughout. One pleasant surprise was the well-stocked kitchenette area. I found a variety of coffee, tea, sugar, and even milk waiting for me, ensuring I could enjoy a cup of my favorite beverage at any time. It's these small details that make a guesthouse truly stand out. One of the standout features of Guinea Vine was its ability to keep the lights on during loadshedding. This is a rare and invaluable feature, especially for travelers unfamiliar with South Africa's electricity challenges. Whether they use solar or rechargeable light bulbs, it was a blessing to have a continuous source of light and power during my stay. Location-wise, the guesthouse is nestled in a beautiful and safe area, which added to the overall sense of relaxation and security. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Guinea Vine to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming retreat. The combination of clean, well-appointed rooms, thoughtful amenities, and an ideal location make it a top choice for travelers. Owner's husband was very rude, he didn't even introduce himself to my husband, but just scolded him about the Weber grill. The customer service definitely needs to be worked on.

Situated in the lovely suburb of Onder Papegaaiberg, this is a good choice for anyone who want to use Stellenbosch as a base to spend a few days in Cape Town and the winelands. The open plan bedroom and bathroom are spacious and comfortable. Parking is on site and the owners make you feel welcome.

I would recommend that the following changes be made that will make it more convenient for the guests: 1. Inserting a TV with basic channels. 2. A stove or even a 2-plate stove so that you can cook something. 3. Put a door on the shower so that it is not so open at the front. Water splashes everywhere and it's cold when you take a shower. 4. Door on the entrance of the bathroom for more privacy. 5. There was not a Nespresso coffee machine as indicated in the advertisement. 6. Parking is difficult to get out of with the other 2 cars behind you. 7. One can hear everything that goes on on the other side of the house because the accommodation is attached to the owners' house and there is only a door that separates the 2 rooms. So the owners can also hear everything from the guests. 8. The towel rail looks like it has been repaired a few times with the marks left on the wall. So it fell off when we wanted to hang up the towels when we were driving. Otherwise we had a great stay. Thank you.

In all an okay stay. Derryn was friendly upon our arrival. You get what you pay for – budget accommodation. The unit was clean, but we had to remove old packed up dirt from the kitchen sink plug. The toilet also needs a thorough cleaning under the rim line. The garden is unfortunately very unkempt and this was a real sore eye. Noise levels from the owner’s unit next door could be heard at all times of the day especially doors banging and people talking. There was also a dog that kept barking throughout the first night of our stay and this was very irritating (even for animal lovers). On the second day of our stay the electricity shut down all of a sudden and it was not due to loadshedding. No apology from the owner or explanation as to why this happened. It took several minutes and many attempts from her children to try and fix this. On a positive note: The WiFi is really fast and steady!
