We had a wonderful stay. Clarens was cold, but the room and bedding were cozy and warm. The room is well-equipped and the garden, with all its beautifully decorated nooks and crannies, a loop court, even in winter. Will definitely visit again and use the braai area next time for sure.

We would recommend Gypsy if you just want to be quiet and experience the gypsy 'camp' garden. A lot of effort was really put into showing originality.
Jade is clean and tidy and very comfortable. The fireplace in the room contributed to a very peaceful and cozy atmosphere. The swing in the big tree is delicious! Shane is a special person and made us feel very much at home. Definitely a winning resting place for the young at heart. We will definitely see Gyspy Guest House again soon.
Awesome little jewel of a place. Only spent one night there, but definitely wish it had been more. Sandy and Shane are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are unique, the garden area is amazing and the outside shower best thing ever. Would recommend this place any day of the week and definitely will return in the future.
Our stay at Gypsy Guest House was wonderful. The fireplace in our self-catering unit was a win against the icy cold that arrived overnight. The room is tastefully decorated in a Morrocan-style vibe and fits in with the Gypsy theme. We loved our semi-private stoep and braai area, however, the open-air kitchen has a full view of this stoep, therefore just semi-private.

The unit is located in a "fairy" forest. Close to town, but away from the hustle and bustle.

Gypsy Guest House is a great place to stay in Clarens with accommodation to suit all needs. It is far enough away from the centre of town to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet, but still within comfortable walking distance. Shane and Sandy are excellent hosts and interesting people to speak to. There are different types of accommodation including beautifully appointed gypsy wagons to camper vans, as well as traditional rooms. The grounds are fun and funky with an outdoor shower and a swing and various other interesting features. The self catering rooms are well appointed with everything you need. You can either braai at the lapa or if you want, they will bring a braai to your stoep. . If in Clarens, we will definitely stay there again.
The room with somewhat exotic decoration was very nice and extremely comfortable!
Made to feel very welcome by Sandy, Shane, Bokser and Kietsie. The special gypsy atmosphere resonated with the wanderers in us. Caring like offering boiling water during load shedding, washing the car. Relax after an 11 hour drive in a hot tub. The coffee and biscuits were very welcome. Special garden with the gypsy houses.
No problems, met expectations well.
We were received very kindly and the host showed us around, after which we could explore the village and come back for a lovely massage and even any spasms and sports injuries can be done here. The atmosphere is really very relaxed and you literally shut down when you can relax in the beautiful leafy garden. It's not just a guest house but therapy for your soul.

From the moment we arrived at Gypsy we felt at home and Sandy informed us in no time where to go and what we could do in Clarens. We enjoyed it very much. The time was just too short.
We needed the short break. The guest house was willing to accommodate us for just one night. It felt like we were family and had known the owners for years. The facilities were nice and clean and we felt very much at home. We will definitely visit there again.

We really loved our stay at Gypsy. Our room was simply gorgeous and I marveled at the detail and use of color at the guest house. Sandy was attentive, friendly and helpful. The garden is gorgeous and the Gypsy wagons looked simply divine. It was a treat to encounter such lovely service and creativity. I wished that we could stay longer. We were very comfortable.

As the town is small everything is within walking distance. The stay suited our needs for the one night but would be ideal for longer stays.
Appreciate the fact that they also contacted us ahead of time to welcome us and give directions. Jana met us there and showed us around. Also provided us with a portable braai at our cottage. Met Sandy, the owner, the morning of our departure. Really nice people and would stay there again.

Clean and friendly!
Beautiful colored walls, unusual old chandeliers, a door to the garden and a very friendly, professional landlady, make a stay at Gypsy Gastehuis a must for any traveller. Everything that needs to work works well and we were offered a shortcut to our room due to my fellow traveler who has difficulty walking. We have now found our place to stay in Clarens and can't wait for a next visit.
Know they are busy with renovations, but it was very peaceful, pleasant. Will visit again.

Excellent value for money! The units were renovated recently and it's fantastic. It is new owners who works very hard to upgrade everything. The last few units should also be done soon. Very friendly and hospitable. We will definitely be back again.
The stay was wonderful. Bedding and towels and carpets were soft and clean. Just make sure kitchen and living area are included in the reservation, apparently it was an "added bonus" when we got there. The location is fantastic, close to everything, yet peaceful and very quiet. We suspect there is a bit of a problem with the toilets, there is a bad stench at night. Overall very nice stay and will go back again. Thank you Sandy and Henry.

We stayed in the 3-bedroom unit. It's not upgraded yet like the other units. Didn't have a sink for dishes. When it's done it would be a great stay.
