4 guests' feedbackHadeda is a wonderful spacious holiday home for family and friends. Andries and Skonnie received us kindly and made sure we were completely satisfied. The lounge overlooking the Wilge River and the constant sounds of nature create a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The indoor barbecue was a bonus so that the family could spend time together. Our hostess, Anita made sure that every need was catered for. Even had a manual arrangement put up by the stairs so that grandfather, 90 years old, can get to the living room more easily. We will definitely seek out this natural gem again.
Great weekend away from the staff, will definitely use the accommodation again in the future. House was fully equipped with all our necessities. Thank you very much again.
The Lodge itself is very spacious, very well equipped and close enough for a getaway from Gauteng for a weekend. However, there were a few things that were a problem eg: there are a lot of bats inside the lodge in the evening; there are many steps in the house (2 places without railings), the lodge is located on a slope with steep slopes and a climbing frame right next to a 1.5 to 2 meter mini cliff, without a protective fence so for us with a toddler in the family it was a nightmare; the lodge's name is not indicated on the door as with the other accommodation places on the farm and moreover on a road where a notice indicates 'only for owners' - we had to get help to take us there; it's very dry, very dusty with no green grass around the house as the photos on the website indicate. We recommend that it is indicated on the website that the lodge is not located in a small and young child friendly place as well as that the bats are removed. We wanted to enjoy silence and rest - the silence was there but rest was lacking due to the above. For the reason that we feel the price did not justify the means.
We spent a lovely weekend with friends. Everything was fine on arrival and Skonie is a lovely woman who kept the house clean for us. I would recommend the place, but guests should know that there is a dirt road to drive to get to the place. We were pretty pissed off when we had to hit the dirt road.
