Niki is absolutely a people person. It was a lovely break and a nice rest. Will come back again for winter to see snow.
Our stay at Amani Guest House with Niki was just perfect. The room is small but has everything needed for a self-catering breakaway. The stoep is comfortable, but for us, the cherry on top was the garden to which there is free access. Niki's garden is like a fairytale garden, with lots of little exclusive patches with beautiful trees, plants, and ornaments all over. You can quite comfortably spend a leisurely day chilling and enjoying the garden, and a host of different bird species that constantly visit the garden. Over and above all that, Niki is simply an exceptionally great hostess, a confident, experienced, and well-travelled lady with an open, friendly, and outgoing nature that likes nothing more than to see her guests happy and well-informed. She has an excellent knowledge of all the surrounding attractions and has personal experience of them all. Ever willing to share her vast collection of succulents.

Hakuna Matata was adequate for an overnight stop, but not if one wanted to spend a few days in Clarens. The room is a converted garage and provides two single beds, end-to-end, separated by a wardrobe unit. A more creative use of space would make it much more comfortable. Also, there is no space to sit and eat, except outside on a small stoep ─ not to be recommended on a Clarens winter evening! It is adequately equipped for self-catering (except eating space!), the beds are comfortable and the hostess, Niki, is friendly and helpful.

Hakuna Matata is a lovely place to stay for a night or more. Wonderful reception by Nikki. We immediately felt at home. Separate entrance and parking for vehicles, although not covered. The unit is small, but clean and tidy. We slept great.
