Very nice gardens and nice accommodation. We felt very safe and at home. Stayed with 2 dogs and 2 children and the owner and his wife were very good to us. Nice places to walk and not feel trapped in your room. Will stay again for sure.
This accommodation was exactly what we wanted: well-priced overnight accommodation en route with secure indoor parking. It was also very nice to have a warm bed already at bedtime: they put the warm blanket on before we arrived!
Lovely accommodation for our 3 families. Good sleeping facilities and a kitchen that is equipped with the necessary. Hanged out on the various porches and even swam on a hot day. The garden in front of the accommodation and the main house is particularly green and beautiful. Also enjoyed the walks on the estate with the dogs and children.
We had a very good night's sleep in a quiet and peaceful environment. The cottage has all imaginable facilities with a fantastically comfortable bed on which we were able to end up in dreamland.
The accommodation is good value for money. Only on arrival felt like we were not expected. The outside facilities were good, but outside was a vehicle being worked on. The air conditioner in the bedroom was very noisy and kept us awake. Was necessary because of the cold to put it on. Furthermore comfortable with a very large kitchen.
Not a nice stay, the bathroom is sloppy and the shower will cause athlete's foot.
If you like nature, this is the place. A lovely place in nature where you can take a leisurely walk in the garden. More cottages are still being built, but it will be a beautiful place when they are finished and all the ideas they want to bring in. This is a reason why I will come back again.
We slept over one night. Very nice quiet place, a bit cramped but everything we needed for one night.
Although the environment initially worried me because the many small holdings, I am pleasantly surprised. Haldon Estate is situated on a lovely place with a rich history. It is nicely hidden from the city and very peaceful. Doreen was extremely friendly and contacted us in advance with directions, received us and showed us everything. Had a great stay, made a nice fire and grilled. Would recommend anytime for an overnight stay.
We stayed one night on our way to the Northern Cape. We are a family of 5 and have booked the 5 bedroom unit for the evening. The unit was adequate for our needs and was easily accessible from the N8 we were traveling on. The electric blankets on the beds were very convenient as the evenings are quite cold. We usually prefer a unit with 2 bathrooms and the unit only had one (it was advertised as having only one bathroom, we still prefer 2).
It was a nice spacious unit with all the necessary amenities. Although the beds have electric blankets on them, the blankets on top of the beds were very thin for a very cold winter evening. Nevertheless, we had a very nice stay.

The accommodation is very clean and tidy. But very basic. If you are looking for something luxurious this is not the place for you. Road to accommodation is a short stretch of dirt road that is not pleasant to drive. It looks more like plot than estate and there are no horses.
The gardens are just weeds. Old machinery and building rubble lying around. Very sad indeed. I won't be back.
The accommodation was suitable for just an overnight stay, but I would not recommend it as a place where one can relax and rest for more than 2 days. The environment around the house was not child-friendly either.
If you don't want to stay in the center of town, this is the place to spend the night. We stayed in Saffron. View over the beautiful gardens of the estate. Great service.
Nice old property with a lot of history. Room has most necessary items and the bathroom is clean and tidy.
