Very friendly and helpful people who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. There was even a pack of charcoal and lighters waiting for us, ready for a barbecue. The accommodation is excellent, clean, tidy and very well maintained. The location is close enough to the main road but far enough that you don't hear it. It is not far from a shopping center. The donkeys are very friendly and enjoy their carrots and apples. Overall this is a great place and definitely recommended if you are visiting Hilton or Pietermaritzburg.

We enjoyed 2 wonderful nights at Hanstead Heath. Lovely clean accommodation, well furnished, beautiful farm view, fresh air, dear donkeys plus warm hospitality made this visit unforgettable. Would recommend for sure!

Hanstead Heath is the ideal overnight destination for families/a group of women traveling alone. Beautiful, quiet, safe, spacious, lovely porch where you can enjoy your coffee in peace. Full kitchen. The owner provided milk and drove away when we asked for more milk. The property is on a plot with electric fencing all around. Easy ample parking. The property is not far from the highway and easy to find.
