Happy Home Imhoffs Gift has very friendly service. It's in a home setting. Beautiful view if you book the bay window room. There is constant highway car noise right through the night, audible regardless of closed windows and doors. Important to know.
Comfortable and friendly.
Our stay was good, the hostess was welcoming and helpful. It would have been appreciated to have some recommendations for restaurants/activities and/or a few communal games. The kettle didn't work and neither did the WiFi. These weren't deal breakers as it was a short stay. The outer leading door to the pool didn't feel secure as there was only a latch.

I was woken up to move my car because there is not enough parking space. The back of the house is next to a very busy road. So, yes, the view is beautiful, but it's definitely not a peaceful place. The staff are very friendly and try their best. The room was comfortable, but the tiles on the entire bathroom floor were cracked. The TV is the size of a laptop screen and wouldn't work.
When I initially made the booking on the website I thought the "guest house" as advertised was presented nicely and it had a high cleanliness rating (5/5) as well as value for money (5/). Upon arrival, there was an instant underlying smell of a greasy kitchen as If it hasn't had a deep clean/scrub in a while but we couldn't help but notice the strong smell of air freshener. We weren't panicking at this point until we were taken upstairs to our room. The overwhelming smell of dogs was in the air and continued into our room. The floors looked dirty and there was mould on the bathroom windows, as well on the windows around the stairwell. The description in the advertisement did not disclose that there would be dogs on the property permanently, only that it was pet friendly by arrangement. The host even apologized about the dogs barking and that we "must just ignore the dogs, they bark all the time". This was an instant turn-off as we were expecting a peaceful and more private getaway. The host's room was a stone's throw away from our room which was uncomfortable. We also weren't expecting to be sharing the guesthouse with others. I was not impressed by the room signs that looked unprofessional and not attractive at all, the signs would be more suited for a pre-primary school rather than a guesthouse. I didn't want to say all of this to the host/liaison as we are not people who relish in awkward/confrontational situations and we got the feeling she was only there as a worker and is not responsible in the way that the owner is. The advertisement of the guest house versus what was experienced was a big disappointment and let down for our money's worth, as I feel the guesthouse was advertised falsely.

Location Location is always a plus and we really enjoyed our stay in a tranquil setting laced with impeccable hospitality from Zac and Candice. Enjoying amazing company along the pool side and my morning meditation on the deck balanced our stay. Value for money and highly recommended.
We were in the 'budget' room, and we're happy because we'd received the special rate offered. In my opinion the usual rate would be too high for this room. It was clean and comfortable, but the shower is in the main house. The room does though have its own bathroom with a bath. The wall-to-wall carpet is stained, which could be remedied by some loose rugs. The bed is very comfortable and the room had everything we needed. The hosts are lovely and it is great to have the use of the communal kitchen and lounge. It is really quiet and a close walk to the vlei. The area is boomed off, so super safe, and close to everything.
The property has a nice view and the hosts are very sweet, but its not very clean.
The photo's are not what you get. The kitchen was not hygienic, the washing machine's water runs out over the driveway. There is mould in the shower and the shower door can't close. We won't stay there again. If someone is looking for just overnight stay, but for the price I wont.

Great stay, beautiful, clean and secure.
The room we stayed in was upstairs, it had a balcony from which we could see the vleis and the sea. We saw spectacular sunsets. The home is close to Kommetjie and Noordhoek and Scarborough, and one could walk from the security of the house, all the way to the farm and to Long Beach. I went on a horse ride along Long Beach where I saw the shipwreck and a huge pod of dolphins frolicking in the waves, spectacular. Harold, the manager of the house, was polite and helpful and made us feel welcome.

Cool safe place to stay for a while.
After seeing the pictures of Happy Home, I thought it was a clean, bright room in a guest house, with breakfast included. However, it was a room in someone's house, it was dark, the carpets were dirty and the tarmac runs right behind the house, so it's very noisy. My room was directly opposite the kitchen, so I listened to the owners cooking and talking all evening. This room is perfect for someone traveling on a budget who doesn't care too much about quality, privacy and quiet. But otherwise it was quite disappointing. Very safe though.
Dogs create a homely atmosphere. Maybe I just misread that the rest of the house (including kitchen and some bathrooms) is shared with other guests. Mosquitoes along the marsh are a big problem.

The host and partner are really amazing and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Not forgetting the dogs. We were given our privacy, yet also included in the togetherness with the host and other guest, leading to loads of fun. We will surely make a return again in the future. The staff was very friendly. The beach is not so far from Happy Homes if you would like to go to the beach. Shops is also not far from there. The house was neat and tidy.

What a delightful surprise it was to come across this gift! August is the middle of winter, but we had a warm welcome from host Luke and very comfortable accommodation. Trips to nearby Noordhoek Farm Village, Imhoff Farm, Monkey Valley and delicious surprises in Kampsbaai made it all worthwhile. Great relaxation for such a weekend getaway!

We stayed the first week in January at Happy Home in Imhoff's Gift, Kommetjie. Kommetjie itself is small with not much to do, but our host, Luke, was able to recommend places to eat and places to visit. One of these was a ghost tour in Simonstad (7 km away), as well as a local paddock where we ate delicious handmade hamburgers right after our arrival. We were mostly on the road and driving around Cape Town, but in the evenings we could still come and go, and could return to our comfortable room and soft bed, and get up again tomorrow morning to continue driving. Parking on the premises itself is limited, but seeing that the entrance to Imhoff's Gift is manned by security officers, you can park your car outside along the street.
Luke was a great host. Stunning view. A great place to get away from the buzz. Would surely go again. Had a lovely stay at Happy Home.
Lovely house, we had a decent experience.
I was scared to book seeing as it was so affordable. We pushed on and hoped for the best. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The place is wonderful! A beautiful view of the fresh water lake with a lovely bed and bathroom. Large with lots of space. We used the large part of the kitchen to prepare meals and even had a barbecue. The host lives on site and made our stay very pleasant. There was nothing we could find fault with. Neat, clean, very nicely furnished. Value for money. Book with peace of mind!
Luke is a very nice host. We are people who like privacy a lot, so this place didn't work for us. The kitchen is not user friendly either. The person who washed our clothes also made a big mess, she hung our clothes in such a way that they made marks. The view from our room (the protea suite) was beautiful, but all the guests have access to our balcony which is right next to our room. We didn't like it. We won't be staying there again, but maybe people who aren't as serious about privacy as we are will enjoy it.

There is more than enough to do in the area in and around Kommetjie, but if you just want to spend the day quietly at home or have a barbecue with friends, this is just the right place to book. Wonderful saty in spacious room with stunning view! Luke was very friendly and it felt like being on holiday in our own house. The room and bathroom is spacious and is very neat. My personal favourite was the "bay window" where I could sit and daydream.

We had a pleasant stay. It was well arranged and we were friendly received. The facilities are very clean and neat. Recommendations to improve it: a kettle in the room with coffee, tee and sugar and maybe some rusks to eat. A small fridge in which you can keep your own stuff cold. It would prevent guests from using and misusing the house's fridge. We weren't sure about the rules regarding this. To prevent this the owner can just provide the facilities in the room. i would definitely recommend Imhoffs Gift. The price is very reasonable and friendly service always contributes to the success of the accommodation.
All the facilities were acceptable and clean enough. The only possible critique (and I hope this will be seen as positive critique) is that the room is maybe more suited for smokers, as there is a smoke smell which we non-smokers immediately smell. Otherwise everything is in order.
