69 guests' feedbackWe were looking for a quiet and peaceful place. Happy Valley suited us 100%. The accommodation was a large and well-equipped thatched rondavel with a delightful front porch that looked out onto a small pond. Did some walking and observed a lot of vulture life.

A pleasant feeling of satisfaction with a friendly reception, to walk into a neat and clean homely living unit with everything we need at our disposal beyond our expectations. Kitchen equipment, crockery, utensils, cold fridge with freezer compartment, TV, comfortable living room, dining room, two "cool" rooms (no fans needed), separate toilet from bath/shower, outdoor patio, outdoor grill with fine logs to start fire. Beautiful lawns, pond and dense woodland as a vantage point surrounded by game farms/gardens. Clean, lukewarm pool. Pets friendly.

We had a great time here. The pond near your front porch is beautiful. Many bird species are active around the dam and the sunset over the dam while your braai fire crackles is an experience. The house is spacious with everything you need and was clean and tidy. The owner responded quickly to our inquiry and was very helpful.

We went camping with my adult children for the weekend. It was wonderfully peaceful and everything we needed for a quiet and "catch up" weekend. The bathrooms are clean and tidy. The camp is tidy and the barbecues and bins are cleaned every day. This is definitely a place to go if you want to escape the hustle and bustle and just read a good book or wet your line. A place where soul and body can come together again.
Hosts are lekker and very welcoming and helping. The place was very neat and clean, our 2 kids enjoyed it a lot.
Needed to get away for a break but not drive for hours. Happy Valley suited that perfectly. It was quite no crowds, able to roam the surroundings slow walk no time restraint. Bird life great with the Dam added to what you saw. Accommodation was comfortable and adequate. Debbie the host is a wonderful person. Ready to help if needed not in your face. We will be going back. If you need signal, Vodacom does not cover the area.
We went on a family Easter camping weekend, with the furry kids and it was amazing! The area is not too far from Pretoria, and it is nice and quiet, perfect for someone/a family looking to switch off from their busy everyday life! Each camp spot has its own ablution, which is a perfect plus. It is very well looked after and clean. There is also a nice dam, for the furry kids to have a swim and a nice clean pool for the two-leggeds! ️Will definitely go back!

2nd time at the place. Went for a bachelors. About 5 people. Place is nice and clean, affordable and with lots of space for activities. Swimming pool is also nice and clean and has no complaints. Will visit again.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely people, comfortable facilities and only a 40 minute drive from home. We just stayed another night.
Debbie was very helpful and accommodating when we were forced to change arrangements. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is clean and everything works. The view over the dam is beautiful and you can rest wonderfully. The braai only needs a light as it is away from the house for safety reasons, but unfortunately it is then dark. The steps from the porch are high, but you can always go out through another door, so it doesn't restrict you. This is only an observation for older people or couples with small children or pets. The mobile phone signal is very bad and was worse because cable theft. If you must have catch-ups, keep this in mind. All in all it is good value for money and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
Few pitches, far apart. Restful. Definitely recommended for campers who like peace and quiet. Even the sounds of the road were not disturbing. The campsite next door was a bit noisy, but calmed down after the 2nd day.

Very quiet and peaceful just what people need to break away for the weekend from City life.
We were very happy with the facilities. We went camping and enjoyed it immensely. There were few people. We had our own ablution facilities which was very nice. The site is clean and tidy but it is quite sloping. It had been very cold in the evenings. The braai is a bit high for us, we would have preferred one that is low enough to warm our feet a bit too. There was no toilet paper in the ablution area, no hand washing soap or paper towels either, take your own. At least we are regular campers so we always take. We suggest the owners perhaps sell wood, lightning and water on the premises because the nearest shop is 5 km away and you don't always want to drive. We went to rest, but if you want to do something you will have to drive. Dinokeng is 15km away and entrance is quite expensive. Other than birds and mouse dogs, there is not much to do on site. My boy really enjoyed the open space and so did we. It was a great weekend and we definitely recommend the place to other people.
Ideal if you want to get away from the city onto a peaceful farm. The cottage is comfortable with almost everything you need.
Happy Valley is the perfect place to get away for a quiet weekend. It is very beautiful and very peaceful. Campsites are far enough apart that you feel like you are camping alone. Note, only people with MTN have cell phone reception. My boy really enjoyed the playground and trampoline. I would only recommend that Happy Valley put a little better shower heads and maybe more bathrooms, other than that you really can't complain about anything else.
Happy Valley is located in a beautiful area with a nice view of a small beautiful pond. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Not really situated for caravans. Tree branches hang very low everywhere. Ground is extremely uneven. Pool is very small, can't really accommodate more than one family at a time. Bathroom and washing area are very cute and beautifully clean. Children's play area is safe and adequate. Sometimes difficult to access the property after a day out as owner has to be called to open gate but mobile signal is very weak so call doesn't go through to them. Service was very friendly, hospitable and helpful.
Happy Valley is well located away from busy roads. The owners and staff are all very friendly. We had fun hanging out and barbecuing every day, and a few times went swimming in the heated pool a short distance from the cottage. It was very quiet and peaceful.
The separate ablution block was for us old people was outstanding. So nice to have the place to yourself and to just leave all your tools there. Everything went so smoothly. Access was no problem. The place is clean and tidy and the staff always wants to help. It is clear that the owners are proud of their place and that they do everything in their power to keep their guests happy. We would love to visit again and this time bring friends.
Debby and Adrian were fantastic hosts! Perfect place for a relaxing time. The kids loved the pool, birdwatching, camping overlooking the dam. This was the perfect break away from the city to wake up to the melodious sounds of the birds. We can't wait to go back when the nut trees are in bloom.
Amazing hidden gem!
The owners made an effort to fit us all in and were really friendly. The atmosphere is calm and friendly. Our granddaughter really enjoyed the climbing frame, trampoline and hammock.

Happy Valley is a nature lover's dream. It is peaceful and quiet with more than enough space to walk. Debby is a fantastic "host". We can recommend it to anyone. If you want to do things all day, stay away, but if you want to rest and enjoy nature, book it now!
We camped at Happy Valley with our two toddlers over Easter and really enjoyed what was our first proper camp as a family. The resort had a few campers, but there was more than enough space for us to be spread out and we were not disturbed by our neighbouring campers. We had our own ablution facility with washing up area, shower, toilet and basin which was rustic and very clean. The resort was well kept and clean and staff was very friendly at check in and during our stay. There were ample trees to camp under ensuring a comfortable stay in the heat. An extension lead of 20m should be enough even to reach the furthest power point. The trees made us choose this resort over Ruah Park which is right next door. Thank you for a wonderful camping experience and for all the assistance with our queries before and during our stay.
Beautiful breathtaking surroundings, we enjoyed it, it really is a very beautiful place with beautiful bird life and the cottage was so beautiful and neat and clean. We had such a good time, it was hard to leave. The cost for the cottage was too cheap in my opinion for what you receive, the cottage is worth at least R1000 a night. Although we received carding and paid an amount that you will not get. Many thanks to Debby and Adriaan and Louis and his family for the wonderful way in which you received us, with so much love and patience. I recommend the farm, for peace and quiet and you get well after the first day, the fresh air and beautiful gardens and neat and clean cottage with everything you need, I will definitely visit there again. Was quite boring. Sofas broken and sat terribly uncomfortable. Not worth the money.
We went here to rest - and that we could do well. There isn't really anything to do here, so it was ideal. Debby was very hospitable and had a nice chat with us too. They go out of their way to accommodate people.
Beautiful with lush green surroundings with a comfortable cottage style (self-catering) accommodation. Enjoyed walking, swimming, or just sitting on the porch listening to the bird's calling... Ideally situated for a weekend away. Thank you for your kind hospitality. My dog had a blissful time as well.

Perfect for small groups of friends to camp and hang out under delicious shade trees. Rustic and spotless ablution, very good service.
We had a nice camping weekend and really appreciated Debby's kindness and good service. I do want to mention that the doll house is not available for kids to play in and the pool was freezing cold (it was still winter, but was listed as heated even though it was freezing cold). The power tripped a few times and the bathrooms are a bit small to share if there are other campers. It is beautiful and very clean. I know they are building new ablution facilities, it will help a lot. We spent quality time together and really enjoyed it.

Happy Valley offers a very peaceful atmosphere and ideal getaway from it all. However, the caravan sites are not clear and the power points and water at the ablution make it difficult to identify a site that is level. An extra electrical cord is a definite, otherwise you stand almost within the ablution.
We had a pleasant camping weekend and are very grateful for the hospitality of Debbie and her children. They tried to help us with every problem we had. I do want to mention that the dollhouse is not available for children to play in. The power "tripped" a few times and the bathrooms are a bit small to share if there are other campers. I know they are building new ablution facilities. Fortunately, there is not an abundance of people either, really very peaceful and quiet. Thank you very much for all your effort and help this weekend.
The cottage at Happy Valley was well appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. The pool was sparkling cool and well appreciated on the hot afternoons.
The hosts were amazing. I made a mistake and they fixed it for us, no problem.
We travelled in a motorhome and found the sloping sites at the private ablution a bit of a problem. We also had a few problems with low branches and the roof of the motorhome.
We were welcomed very kindly when we arrived. The rondavel is beautiful and fully equipped. But we were a bit disappointed because there is not much to do on the grounds. The swimming pool is nice and clean and the children really enjoyed swimming. My boys also couldn't fish as planned because the pond was empty. The place is very quiet so if you want to go there you will just be able to relax.
A need for more activities, more swimming pools, a nice lawn, more toilets, accessible power units.
