There is a nursery on the property which is open to the public. Fourways, Sandton, Randburg and Krugersdorp are all within easy travelling distance and offer live theatre, casinos, cinemas and major shopping centers.

Everything was great, but there was no coffee and milk in the room, we had to go and ask for it. In the evening there had been a lot of noise, I could not determine what it was. Apart from that, everything was very professional, the reception was good, everything very tidy, and friendly staff.
Very comfortable clean spacious accommodation and very well located. Would definitely recommend it.
A good room and very clean and close to the wedding venue we travelled to.
The place needs attention. The room is clean, but everything (decor, linens, furniture etc.) looks patched together and tired. The mirror is mounted low on the wall for the vanity, but there is no chair to sit on (had to get on my knees to use it). There was a kettle for coffee, but no coffee, sugar or milk, just 3 tea bags. The cups weren't exactly clean either. The garden is overgrown and neglected. The dining room furniture old and tired, blinds had also seen better days, chair cushions stained and dirty. It seems that the place is left to the mercy of one caretaker who is also the cook, waiter, host, cleaner and has to do everything at once.
We stayed at Hartley Manor a few years ago in the rooms off the dining hall. The rooms were comfortable and clean. This time we were placed in No. 8, and it was nowhere near the same quality as the rooms next to the dining hall. The floors are cracked with an old, dirty carpet that has partly been thrown over the top. There is one duvet on the bed with summer sheets, and a fleece blanket, so we didn't even sleep warm. The room is at the back and there are no working security lights between the parking lot and the unit. We had to find our way to the unit in the dark with a cell phone light when we came back the evening after our function. The towels put out for us are old. There was no cold water at the sink faucet. It really seems like attention is not really paid to the specific unit where we had to sleep. We will for sure never book here again. It was really a disappointing, unpleasant experience for the price we paid.
Tasha went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and went the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
The room does not compare at all to the advertisement on the website. Warm blanket didn't work, no heater in room. We don't like them coming into the room when we're not there. If I have received the key we will ask questions for further service/help.

Spacious units with everything you need and more. Breakfast was delicious and we would stay there again.
The cottage is very nice and tidy. All that is missing is WiFi and the TV didn't work at all. It was dysfunctional. The TV turned on but we couldn't change channels at all and then gave up.
It started with very friendly communication, we already felt welcome. We had a few extra requests and that was no problem. The large variety of breakfast was really tops. The Cottage is spacious, tasteful, clean and tidy with enough sleeping space and bathrooms. Again, many, many thanks and the price was very fair.

Just wanted a place to stay for 1 night after wedding. It was not pleasant to have to take a cold shower on such a cold morning!
The accommodation we got was exactly the same price as the one our family got, but ours was half the size. It should be half the price. The wall plugs behind the bed don't work so we couldn't use the bedside lamps or electric blanket. There were spider webs in the corner behind the door. I booked the room without breakfast, although we got breakfast (very tasty). I would just like to know why there is a separate rate if you book the bed and breakfast option. Maybe that should be looked into, it's very confusing. The bed was excellent and we had a hot shower.
The place is so much more beautiful than it looks in the photos. It was a pleasant surprise.
We were very surprised at how big our unit was. Beautifully clean and nicely decorated. We loved the porch that was right around the unit and opened onto the roses and breathtaking garden surrounded by mountains. Our hostess, Tash went the extra mile and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay there again!
I would recommend Hartley Manor to anyone anytime, they also gave very good instructions, how to drive from OR Thambo airport to destination, we were close to Krugersdorp and walked around there a bit too. Guest house neat, friendly, and breakfast with the family was delicious, thank you very much. Staff who came to clean, also very friendly, even made our beds nice for the night's sleep. Thanks again.

Thank you we had such an enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cottage was spacious and clean. We had to attend a function and when we returned we found that Hartley Manor had provided us with a turn-down service, the lights were on in our cottage and the electric blankets were already switched on. This was so thoughtful, especially as when we returned it was absolutely freezing out. We will definitely visit again.

The place was ok, but not the right cottage. I assume my brother and his wife were put in our cottage as they had a bed in the lounge for my son (16) to sleep - we did not. The couches in the living room is falling apart - you sit on the floor.
It wasn't a bad stay, rooms could provide shampoo and conditioner as it is a drive away from the shops. The road leading to Hartley Manor is not the greatest but was easy enough to find. Breakfast was simple but great.

We stayed two nights at Hartley Manor. It was clean and tidy. Our door could not lock at all from the inside and was asked to use only the slide lock. It was a big dampener on our special weekend away.
Room unfinished. Bath not finished yet. Loose tiles. No shower head at faucet. Garden untidy. Received very well. Breakfast very nice.
The staff was really nice. We ordered extra sandwiches for lunch and it was done with great effort. At Hartley Manor Guest House, they do not hesitate to do everything to make their guests feel welcome. Would definitely stay there again!
Hartley Manor was baie gerieflik geleë en dit voel of jy in die bosveld is, al is Johannesburg nie ver nie. Die ontvangs was baie vriendelik en ons cottage was pragtig uitgelê en goed toegerus. Daar is ook 'n roos kwekery met pragtige rose teen 'n baie billike prys. Ek sal enige tyd weer by Hartley Manor oorbly en aanbeveel.

The accommodation at Hartley Manor was some of the best I've ever shared with friends. Everyone had their privacy, but we still shared a chalet. The people there go out of their way to help you. They even opened the kitchen earlier just so that we could be where we needed to be on time. Thank you once again.

Accommodation and location was good, but directions on the road could improve. No answer from two numbers when we called to confirm route. Breakfast should improve. Gardens beautiful.
I also work in hospitality, but painted floors? And the fan on a cupboard with no table to put in on, had to use ottoman. Empty bottle coffee, not even a radio let alone a TV. Guess I am used to better.

Very neat, and the location is perfect for a wedding at Moon & Sixpence. Room was a big disappointment, very small and offers nothing special. At R375 pp it is definitely not worth the money.

Diepsloot makes you afraid of accommodation without burglar bars in front of doors and windows. Entrance and long veld grass definitely out of place at a guest house. Feeling very unsafe. Many murders in Mulderdrift's area. Decent parking and backyard feel renovation is essential. First impressions are lasting. In contrast, the room and bathroom were very neatly equipped and clean. Breakfast room and tables were neat and tidy and breakfast tasty and on time.
Would definitely recommend Hartley Manor for a quick weekend getaway. Was warmly welcomed and felt at home from the start. The rooms were particularly spacious with all the necessary equipment.

The rooms were clean and tidy, all electrical equipment worked well. However, attention can be paid to the breakfast. The choices are few, especially if someone doesn't eat bacon or cereal. Other than that, I have no criticism to offer. We had a nice stay.

We attended a wedding 10 km from Hartley Manor. When we arrived at Hartley Manor there was plenty of parking (we were in two cars). The place was very clean and tidy. There was milk in the fridge, coffee, tea and sugar. At breakfast everyone was friendly and professional. Overall it was very pleasant.
