Hartsplek has the friendliest owners, Susan and Herman. The facilities are top notch. You only need to take yourself and food, the rest is there and very convenient. It is very peaceful and so beautiful and neat. We will definitely visit again.
We had such an amazing time at this little gem of a place. The owners are world class people with massive hearts. The house was fully equipped with all the basics so you only really need to bring food, drinks and beach towels. My doggies were in absolute heaven and my little girls had the best time ever in the pool. Uncle Herman even came back with some bubbles for them to blow. Such a magical weekend we had.

Clean, tidy, open space with a breathtakingly beautiful view of the sea. Herman and Susan really took care of all the little things - wood and fire lighters for the barbecue, real soap in the bathroom, etc. They even made sure there was constant power - my wife had to work during our visit! They are excellent "hosts". We will definitely go back!
The best place I have ever stayed on vacation. Susan and Herman were excellent hosts. Always asking if everything was ok. The view was out of this world. Quiet, clean. Although the hosts are living on the property, they leave you alone to do your own thing. The swimming pool was a nice cool-off on hot days. Look exactly like the photo's shown. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to go on vacation at St. Helena bay.
What a wonderful overnight stay on the West Coast and my expectations were exceeded because everything you need was there. Clean and tidy spacious sleeping place, cutlery and braai facilities with a nice sea view as in the photos. The friendliest guest house owners welcomed us properly and made us feel at home as if it were your home. Will definitely stay there again and highly recommended, thank you, Susan and Herman.

Very happy with the cleanliness of the accommodation. We woke up to beautiful sunrises. We were not really affected by the loadshedding as they have an inverter which was amazing. Thank you Herman and Susan for being so welcoming and accommodating.
It was a pleasant, relaxing stay. The only aspect which was uncomfortable was the amount of chlorine in the pool. The chlorine was so strong that it burnt our skins and we were left with red, open patches on our arms and faces.

It's an incredible place. The photos cannot do justice to the real view. Incredibly beautiful. The place is tip top neat and clean. Every imaginable kitchen tool is available. Even a knife sharpener and whiskey glasses to enjoy your expensive whiskey with such a view. Reception was so friendly, nice conversation. It is more than worth it! Unbelievable.

Beautiful sea view.
The man owner was very hospitable when we arrived. Unfortunately the chlorine in the pool was terribly strong when we swam our eyes, nose and skin almost burned. And also the first aid container they have there for guests' use, especially the Salon, which was left there already in 2007 expired. We see it when we have finished using it. We took pictures of the expiration date on the product.
Firstly the view is breathtaking. The house is nice and clean, it has everything you need. The pool and the braai area is just perfect. Although the weather did not play its part the pool temperature was perfect for swimming. Thank to Hannes for giving us more insight into St Helena Bay. Thank you guys for your hospitality. I certainly recommend Hartsplek.

Herman en Susan is gawe mense en het ons onmiddellik tuis laat voel. Ons was gaande oor die asemrowende uitsig! Ons sal beslis weer by Hartsplek tuisgaan!

It's a lovely place with everything imaginable that is needed in the house. And then Herman and Susan are dearly nice. Would easily be able to stay there for a long period of time.
We were a group of 4 friends and a 5 month old baby. We had a great time and relaxed after a long week of work. The owners made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to accommodate us. We were initially worried about the West Coast wind and whether we would be able to light a fire. However, the braai area was well sheltered. The view is even more beautiful than in the photos!
This is a fantastic stay. You get everything that the pictures show and more with the friendliest service. Will only stay at Hartsplek if we come to vacation in the area again.
I would recommend Hartsplek to any of my friends and family. The place had everything we needed. Herman and my husband bonded over the rugby like old acquaintances. What a lovely stay.
Was very disappointed because we were unable to receive family to visit for the day for a braai and potjie. So most of the time was spent visiting family at their accommodation during the day. Only slept at Hartsplek. Did not get the full pleasure and enjoyment of the accommodation. Perhaps next time include such information when advertising.
