Positives: Friendly owners. The place is equipped with everything one needs to prepare a meal. Clean and tidy. WiFi worked well. Biscuits, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, muesli, yogurt and dish soap provided. Quiet part of Kleinmond in a residential area with no noise. Plenty of blankets and clean towels and washcloths for two people. Water pressure in shower is excellent. Negatives: The small apartment does have its "own" entrance, but I wouldn't describe it as a "private" entrance since it's not completely separate from the main house. What the photos do NOT show is that the porch looks right into the owners' house, because it is a shared porch. The owners' sliding door to the porch is permanently open, so you don't really have privacy. It feels strange to sit on the porch and the family members walk in and out past your door. There is only room on the veranda to sit and eat or enjoy morning coffee, otherwise you have to sit inside on the bed. The porch leads to the owners' garage, so there is necessarily a passage and if you are lying on your bed there is therefore no privacy, except if you keep your door and blinds closed all the time. No ashtray for smokers outside provided. Only one roll of toilet paper provided. A second one for emergencies would be fine. The place was very hot at night (the hostess did offer a fan from her own earlier in the day, which I should have welcomed). If you open the windows at night the mosquitoes attack you (definitely not the hostess's fault either, just a comment, and there was Peaceful Sleep / Insecticide provided). I opened the blinds for fresh air, but the neighbors across the street spotlight shines clearly into your room, so there was little rest for me at night. Ask for a fan, it will keep you cool and also blow away the mosquitoes a bit. "Safe parking" is debatable. Although the area is quite safe, your car is not parked behind a gate, but in the driveway in front of the garage with direct access for anyone from the street, and therefore there is no defense against car thieves or burglars. Apartment windows cannot open wide due to burglar bars on the outside of the windows. Hard, uncomfortable and creaky bed. I would only be able to recommend this place if the porch is for private use by guests. Furthermore is perfect for a quick overnight visit between towns.
