Simply perfect. The hosts were amazing, made us feel right at home. Such a friendly, calm and relaxing environment. The unit was neat and clean, had backup power during load shedding. Tanya always recommended places we could visit during our stay. The breakfast was truly homemade and delicious. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Very nice stay. It is a beautiful place, and the chalet has a nice view of the river. The hostess is friendly and makes a delicious breakfast.
We had a great time. The hostess is particularly nice and made a lot of effort to make our stay feel like a visit. It is a beautiful setting and we went for a walk along the bubbling river. It's very special to hear the river like that! We didn't notice that the guest house was on a sandy road some way out of town and didn't take the distance to 'town' into account in our travel planning. Once you're there, you don't want to go back. We would have liked to have dinner at the guest house instead, but we chose a much cheaper option by eating at Rawsons Hotel in Notties - highly recommended! The next morning's breakfast at Hawkley was excellent.
Hawklee Country House is perfect for a quiet weekend away from the city. However, it is only about 15 km away from Nottingham Road's attractions and restaurants. We enjoyed the nature very much and easily followed the beautiful walking paths along the Lion's River. In addition, the weather cooperated and we were able to relax and bird watch. Tanya and Sean were unfailingly hospitable and it felt like we were walking into our parents' homes. They put an awful lot of effort into breakfast and dinner and it was absolutely delicious! We were very sad to leave, but we will definitely be back.
Tanya and Shawn were fantastic hosts and made us feel at home on arrival. Comfy beds and a very private room were much appreciated. We had a wonderful Christmas lunch with very tasty home-cooked food. We would strongly recommend Hawkley Country House to our friends and family and will be back soon.
Hawklee Country House has a charming old-world feel about it, with a wonderful outlook over a meandering stream below. Tanya and Sean are wonderful hosts who make you feel right at home. The cottages are very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The food may be home-cooked and hearty, but it is certainly a pleasure to eat. Breakfasts are not the usual bacon and egg but are well thought out and very tasty. The Irish home pub, is just that, with a selection of fine Irish Whiskey and the obligatory Guinness. All in all a great place for a wonderful weekend in the Midlands.
We really enjoyed the beautiful view, the room really smelled so nice and there was even something special arranged for us because we were on our honeymoon on our first night. The breakfast was also really nice and we really liked the location of the place! We are happy to recommend them to anyone.
