For the avid bird-watcher, the Klein Karoo, and particularly the Oudtshoorn area, offers a large variety of birds. Nearby activities include fishing, the Cango Caves and great eateries in town and wine tastings which can be arranged upon request.

Enjoyed a lovely walk on the farm and activities in Oudtshoorn. Anita, our host, was a lovely and great communicator. The place was clean and had everything we needed for some relaxing downtime.
Chrismari was great meeting us and filling us in about the area. Beautiful home. Great decor and extremely comfortable. We had a lovely stay in Oudtshoorn with lots to do. Beautiful views and best braai area.

It was an absolute highlight for us to be able to sleep on the farm! Uncle Manus' house is fantastic.
We were very hospitably received by Chrismari and upon check-in Die Melkstal was already cozy and warm prepared for the cold weather with all panel heaters switched on. The Melkstal House still has nice thick walls which, together with the crackling fireplace, made the house so wonderfully warm and cozy in the cold Karoo night! We slept very well under the beautiful white and good quality cotton bedding and tastefully furnished rooms. We could make a nice big campfire in the round stone braai pit and relax blissfully under the beautiful Karoo starry sky away from any disturbance. Our children also really enjoyed seeing the ostriches up close. Thank you very much Chrismari, we will definitely see you again!
Hazenjacht Karoo Lifestyle was a wonderful experience. The sunrise and sunset are so beautiful. The tranquility of the farm is something to experience. During our stay, it was lovely to sit outside with a delicious cup of coffee in the morning and see how the farm activities begin. The Milk Stable was very tidy and we were received kindly. Feel free to recommend it if anyone wants to get away from the hustle and bustle. Found true rest here.
Had a great time in a very neat and clean house with everything you need. Would definitely stay there again and can strongly recommend it.
My husband, 2 year old son and I spent 3 wonderful nights here. My toddler loved roaming around in front of the house and walking up with us to see the ostriches. The house was warm, despite the cold weather. The fireplace in the lounge, wall panel heaters in the bedrooms and electric blankets kept us cosy. A peaceful place to stay with everything we needed.
The house is well equipped with all the basic necessities and is very comfortable and cosy. The hostess is extremely helpful and very friendly. The view from the porch is incredible. Only problem was that the braai is not sheltered and in the wind it can become quite unpleasant. Fortunately it is mobile and we were able to move it to a more sheltered area. I can confidently recommend Plaaswerfhuisie. Directions should be corrected: The turn off to the cottages is not on the Unexpected Road. You drive past the Unexpected turnoff and about 1.1 km past the turnoff (but still on the main road) is the turnoff to the cottages on the right (also a dirt road). There is a sign with the farmyard houses on it, but is very small and can be easily missed, especially at night.
I would recommend this place to everyone! It's a wonderful place! Very neat, spacious and large. Was fun to see the cattle and ostriches. Would definitely want to go there again!
Very good value for money. Only the double bed mattress was very hard therefore uncomfortable. Reception was friendly.
