79 guests' feedbackStay was great. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. The pub and grill they have is awesome, with delicious food and very affordable. Great customer service. All Mpumalanga's waterfalls are within a radius of 60km. Great stay if you want to see all the beauties of nature. Thanks, Hazyview Adventure Backpackers. We will definitely come visit again.
We had the best time ever. The host, Quisto, is very accommodating and really just a wonderful person. We will definitely be going back. Thanks for one of the best times of our lives.
The pool was fantastic. I will be there soon again.
The staff is friendly, the location is awesome, the entertainment fabulous and the pool is a must! We had a blast.
Quisto the owner was super friendly and welcoming. The room we were allocated was well above our expectations for a backpacker. It was spacious, clean and neat and had everything we needed. It was the perfect stopover en route to Kruger. We would definitely recommend it to anyone.
The bed was comfortable, but the bedding was not the best. The showers are a little too open for our liking, but that's just how most of these types of places are.
Only required as sleep over, as days were otherwise occupied with other excursions off premises in surrounding area & Kruger National Park. Pleasantly surprised with the deck & amenities, not mentioned in advertising, ie, fridge & 2 plate gas stove. with wash up area. Only downer is R40 very noisy at all hours & sound travels at night. Lovely bathroom but shower walls a bit mouldy, needing some bleach & elbow grease & maybe a new coat of paint for the suite.
Swimming pool not at all like in the photos, the bed linen was dirty, full of crumbs and oil stains. The bedding stank. The bosses were smaller than the mattress and look like a homemade closet under a mattress.
Stayed overnight after a drive through Kruger Park. Was well in a tent, but very neat and clean. Met friendly people, up to a couple from Brazil.
Nice place to visit.
The place does not look like the photos. It is extremely hot with small fans that do not cool the rooms down. The bathrooms are not well-maintained (2 out of 4 toilets were working). The showers are not very private as the panels are not closed, so people from outside can look in.
It was disappointing because it wasn't anything like the pictures, and the place seems to be neglected and not completely taken care of. The bathrooms and showers definitely need to be improved.
So, the photos that are posted are old and are probably from 13 years ago. The family room was not clean, the mattresses need to be replaced ASAP. Need to provide proper towels to guests. We arrived and the eating area was a mess, dishes left on tables from previous guests and only got cleaned the next morning on the day of check out. The place is run down, maybe looted in the past and needs funding and maintenance.
We stayed for 2 days. We enjoyed it.
The owners are very hospitable - love the new room for 2 people just done. Great location. was surprised better than what I expected. Loved the light fittings. Loved the dogs as well.
Affordable, it's an adventure, very cool concept. Really enjoyed camping, very tidy.
One of the best backpackers in the country, friendly service, clean and tidy. Very friendly people.
Ablution facilities at Dorm room must have separate facilities for men and women. "Storage room" next to room can be converted into toilet.
It's rustic but very good value for money! We stayed in the family room and it was perfect for a family of 5, kids are 13, 10 and 9.
It is a picturesque place. I would suggest it for the peaceful environment and atmosphere that the place creates. It's a shame we only stayed there one night.
Good place to kick your legs up and relax, friendly staff and a good location with a very nice pub area.
Pleasantly surprised for a backpacker. Very neat. Everything you need. Nice pool. Host was very helpful. Thank you very much.
This resort is well situated at the entrance of an estate opposite the road to Hazyview. All is well a stone's throw. The resort is precisely a nature reserve among the greenery with monkeys welcoming guests. Chalets provide Bush life with bathrooms out of the chalets. What an experience.
Easy to explore the area including Kruger National Park.
Friendly staff and nice place.
Looked like hasn't been cleaned, dirty.
More than comfortable and impeccable service and courtesy from the hosts.
The place is nice and chilled, arrived on Friday afternoon and left on a Sunday, the stay was very nice. The place is clean. I was looking forward to swimming but the weather disappointed.
It was clean and made some new friends.
Friendly customer service. Sharon, the manager, really loves her job, she was supportive and thanks to her for making us feel at home. She's the best!
The time there was really a wonderful time. The staff were excellent. Would like to say a big thank you to the staff of Hazyview Adventure backpackers, thank you very much for your hospitality.
Very relaxing and value for money.
Warm reception by Sharon. She is definitely a feather in the cap of such an establishment. Nice to socialise with Ansie and Raymond in the bar. Pleasant people. Too few blankets and the lights by the outside staircase can definitely be looked at. Otherwise very nice and relaxing.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, it's definitely a place we'll be staying at again in the future.
The place is so quiet yet beautiful and really adventurous. The staff treat you like royalty, I would definitely return and the location is so easy. Oh, how can I forget the pool and the bar I wish I could have booked for the whole December.
Very friendly welcome & upgraded to another room free of charge.
The place is next to a mall, Kruger National Park Phabeni Gate. It is easier to visit places like God's Window, Berlin Waterfalls and the Potholes.
All the accommodation is among beautiful vegetation and makes it a wonderful getaway experience. The restaurant and bar area means that you have everything at your disposal on one premises. The only challenge for me was the shared kitchen where others took some of my stock in the fridge and left the kitchen messy at times.
Not interested in such a place again.
Disappointing. They need urgent maintenance. Stop advertising that there is a.o. a restaurant on site, if there isn't one! We could only get pizza and sandwiches from the bar. I still don't know where the 'receipt' is. We drove through an open gate and had to walk up and down to find someone to help us and show us where we would spend the night. The tent we slept in was indeed clean, but the side flaps were so hard that it was difficult to roll them down. It also failed to fasten. We didn't notice any security either. No clear parking spaces. We asked in advance if their place had room for another 2 nights, but decided not to spend more than the single night there. What was positive was that the staff made a cooling facility available for my insulin.
Loud music and noise after 12. Feel unsafe. Heavy traffic all night on main road. Tree seeds falling on tin roof all night. Buildings, bathrooms need a lot of attention, not maintained, rooms were at least clean, not value for money.
Pleasant place to stay. This is a backpackers with style.
It is close to shops and kruger game park...environment is nice and peaceful..will stay there again...
Basic but neat.
Very friendly staff, but definitely not worth the price. The tents, kitchen and bathrooms were very dirty and unhygienic. I also had to ask for a braaier four times before I had to collect one myself, the braai's are falling apart and I had to eventually go into town to purchase a portable one. The bar is over priced and clearly wants to rip people off. Occasionally no water available and a bath/shower in the pool will do the trick. They advertise all these nice bars/kitchen/free WiFi ect. on the site but non of it was available. This place will never see us again.
The place it's good for people who like camping like me so it's a good place n quiet with beautiful nature around.
It was the first time we slept with backpackers and certainly not the last time. The staff were so friendly and hospitable and made us feel very welcome. Definitely a delightful experience that I would recommend to every traveler (local or international).
Great vibe and really friendly people. A must for anybody looking for a chilled vibe.
Cool place with good connection to Kruger
We stayed one night and the place was clean and tidy and reasonably priced. The management was friendly and helpful and helped point out the best way to our final destination. There are showers and toilets that men and women have to use together, which is quite strange, but it's clean and tidy. The walls of the showers and toilets are not very dense and you can see through the wall between the showers and toilets. The place was packed and some of the guests were loud and had a good time, but that's probably just one of those things when a place is full. It would have been nice if there was a silence rule from 24:00, but if the guests want to hang out, then they probably want to hang out.
It was good for just the one night's sleep.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, pouring rain made the one night stay a bit uncomfortable, but kept the beautiful vegetation green.
Very well located. Buildings need attention. Bedding was not clean. Place has a lot of potential.
The place is well located, just a pity it is against the road which makes vehicle noise quite bad. The facilities are basic but sufficient. I think the camp as a whole needs a lot of maintenance work. Otherwise, it is good enough for a quick overnight stay and centrally located to visit attractions in the entire area.
Backpackers is really close to Kruger National Park, graskop etc. It is really good cause they offer everything for self catering.
I can easily recommend the destination to others. This is an excellent place, will definitely stay there again on my next holiday there, thank you.
Management was friendly and helpful. Toilets clean. One complaint is that the mesh on the family tent was broken and this in December. But beyond that, everything was on the hook.
Had a nice stay at Hazyview. The staff are friendly. Camping was not ideal as the camp site is located next to a very busy road.
Will not go there again.
Awesome for backpackers, very well done.
It was great. The people were very friendly and the place was very tidy and clean. Definitely worth it.
The stay was amazing. Felt right at home!
Wow, the owners put a lot of effort into creating the backpacker culture and the nice backpacker "vibe"! The African statues and art everywhere in the garden create a nice atmosphere, you just feel like you are on holiday. The bathrooms and showers built from bamboo look very nice and if you look closely you can see that the construction is very solid, top notch. Same with the tents pitched under canvas canopies - it looks so nice relaxed and informal, but it's "top notch" solidly built and spotless and tidy. The fully equipped kitchen was a pleasant surprise! Swimming pool is beautiful and spotless. The "bush pub" just next door makes good steaks at good prices, and the people sit around the campfire until late in the evening. Great if you like meeting new people - just don't expect silence, ha ha! I will definitely stay there again.
We had an enjoyable stay but it's more like an overnight-stop than a long-term campsite. The busy road next to the terrain makes it unpleasant and the nights that the bar was open was quite disturbing.
We were very unhappy with our stay. We specifically specified that we wanted a double bed, we were then given two single beds. There were also other guests who made a noise until after 01h00 in the morning.
There are plenty of things to do to keep the whole family busy, if you're looking for tranquility this is the place to go. The owner (Jay) was very friendly upon arrival, it was very quiet and the people go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Very pleasant owners, thanks Jay and Ellen for making it so friendly. As a person that travels alone and is over 50, I never know what to expect wherever I go. Especially you think "what am I going to do in the evenings". Well, don't worry about that. I am not a heavy drinker and had my whiskey or two at the bar but the socializing at the bar was so nice to just sit and talk with the owners and the other local visitors. Will definitely go again. Oh yes, there was just the odd frog I had to share the shower with but hey ... that's nature! Lovely place, lovely people.
Got a "hippy" feeling. Definitely value for money. This is a good stopover/overnight accommodation for if you are going to the KNP. The service was friendly. The lights on one side of the bathroom did not work, and it was very dark to go to the toilet in the evening.
Was pleasant without problems.
Very nice, the tents are an excellent idea. Good service.
Compared to all the different places I stayed at to date, this place was quite a shock. The kitchen/cooking area was definitely not up to standard and filthy! It is the small things that count. The curtains were not fitted to the windows and falling from the rails, there was no dustbin in the room and it looked like someone bought random secondhand articles from a garage sale and fitted the room with it. It was evident that the linen wasn't changed after the previous visitors. I felt very unsafe as our door could only be secured with a single simple bolt lock normally used for cupboards. I had to walk around quite a bit to find someone to help me. R218 p/person is totally overpriced. I was misled by the photographs.
I highly recommend it.
I recommend it to everyone who wants to stay in nature among the trees and plants.
Otherwise, the people are very friendly and helpful.
Very basic accommodation, but loved the feeling of 'camping' without pitching a tent.
We stayed in a tent and it was very pleasant to find an actual bed in there and not just a mattress. It was very clean, but because we arrived late and left early, we didn't use other facilities. However there is just one point to mention: it was situated right next to a very busy road and therefore wasn't very quiet. Thank you
