Very spacious accommodation. Large rooms. Clean and comfortable. The reception was confusing. We went to the wrong place and were then sent to the other cottages. A folder with information would have been useful.
The facilities were clean and tidy, although maintenance work is needed. There is an alarm that goes off every so often during the night which is incredibly annoying and no one can sleep!
I would not recommend the place at all. There was a large group of people making noise and partying until 3:30 in the morning. No rest. There is also only limited DStv and no WIFi available. The fridge was not even switched on and therefore warm. The place sure could do with a fresh coat of paint. Will never stay there again!
Centrally located for what we wanted to see.

Not luxury but very comfortable and clean.
The owner unlocked it for us on arrival and that was the last we saw of him. There were no glasses to drink water or soft drinks. We got 3 tea bags and 10 sugar bags. There was no knife in sight to cut anything and then still lukewarm water to shower with. At the shower head, half of the jets were blocked.
The accommodation is right next to an informal settlement.
Stay away It's the worst place you can go with your family. Stay away!

Quiet, tidy, nice barbecue on our stoep and slept warm. If there was what you need for self-care. Quiet at night when it's time to sleep. Ample space and very affordable.

We visited the Kruger National Park. The accommodation was neat and tidy with easy access to 3 gates.
Old-fashioned tobacco sheds converted into flats, located on a plot outside Hazyview. Quiet atmosphere, well-appointed for self-catering.
It felt like that place will collapse when we walk from upstairs. The floor had small nails and it poked my 3 year old on her toe. Wall wardrobes were broken.
The accommodation was not at all what we had in mind. They fall far short and I really wonder how they got on the website's books. They don't belong there.

A little care in improving the appearance of the rooms might make them a little welcoming, fittings are in need of attention, in particular the basin in the bathroom which does not drain properly.
We had a good stay, although the accommodation was very basic.
Road to Hazyview Country Cottage needs a 4x4. 3 star-grading is misleading. Urgently needs a facelift in cottage no 3.
The place is in an unsafe environment, no access control really. There were people walking in all the time and all you hear is a cheap little alarm on a tree going off, but no one was checking who was going in and out. It continued like this until 11:00 p.m. Guests drink and make noise until 04:00 in the morning. The garden is neglected, the swimming pool is green and rubbish is dumped right next to the house. I will never in my life go there again or recommend anyone. Definitely no for this stay.
It was super unpleasant, unsafe and untidy! There are no kitchen utilities! There was one fork! The bath has mold in it, couldn't even wash my face. Won't recommend it at all. Just stayed for one night. Rather left early in the morning seeing that the place was untidy and unsafe.
Country Cottages was probably a grand place ten years ago, but is now a bit neglected. But it is definitely value for money compared to what surrounding resorts charge, that is if you are not full of viemies.

Although very clean and neat, had to keep looking for somebody to help us as the TV didn't work, no hot water in shower. Swimming pool dirty. Photos not the true reflection. Was so disappointed that we left earlier.
Even though the interior was very clean an neat I expected a bit more. The picture on the website creates a false impression not reflected by the reality. The outside is quite run down, we had to ask for help to get the TV to work and the oven didn't really heat up. They advertised a fully-equipped place but there was no can opener or cork screw in sight. I chose the place because they said there was a play park for the kids - we did a weekend away with our grandkids. The trampoline net was torn so the kids didn't want to use it. Only a little slide and one other item in the play park. The braai is really old and neglected and the camping chairs outside have seen better days.

There is nothing fancy about this place, if that's what you are looking for, then go for it!
The apartment is comfortable inside, but unfortunately the overall appearance of the resort outside is very neglected. The apartment inside is comfortable with everything you need. However, the exterior display is neglected and needs a lot of attention.
Firstly, the road to the accommodation is rundown and hidden. It looks like old working quarters which has been renovated for accommodation. There was an informal settlement close by and we felt very unsafe.
I am very disappointed in Hazyview Country Cottages, it was not at all like they advertise it on the internet. There was no plug in the bathroom sink which made it impossible for my companion to shave there. There was no headboard by the bed and the previous guests' chewing gum was still left on the bedside table. The doors' locks could not close properly.

A cute place to stay if you want to visit Kruger National Park and just sleep over in the evenings, otherwise not much to do. Care should be taken if school groups are accommodated. They don't necessarily consider other people with the noise.
Place is beautiful and has lots of accommodations.
If the manager could try to keep that place up to standard, then I will refer some friends but for now I won't. The garden needs maintenance and the main swimming pool needs renovations, it is dark so you can't see to the bottom of the pool. The room that we stayed in had a private pool and the pool was up to standard. I will recommend that to the people. The cleaning staff and the owner were very friendly. 8 out of 10.

The stay was disappointing. Problem with the outlet of bathroom water, possibly a blockage of sewer. I feel that more personal attention could be given by the owner. Bathrooms and kitchens can definitely use some attention. Even the roof fans can be attended to. Sorry for the negative criticism.
Wouldn't like to comment too much as it was my choice. But to protect future guests, I will definitely not recommend the place. Very poor standard.
Beds very old. No support so could not sleep well. Curtains untidy and dirty. No toilet paper. Front door could not lock and owner said we should just move a chair in front of the door because there was no security door on it like on some of the other units. Wallpaper is coming off and the wall under the wallpaper is full of steam. Stokou TV that does not pick up any channels. Coffee mugs and cups all chipped. Pool was pretty clean. The whole place needs attention.
We arrived late on a Friday night having paid our deposit well in advance. The place had potential and should have been nice, but the overall cleanliness and little details ruined it. The sofa had a recent stain that hadn't been cleaned (as if someone had been busy there). Our son's sheets had blood stains on. The plugs in the main bedroom couldn't be plugged in. Rat dropping on the side table. Plates cups and saucers were dusty. Sadly, to make matters worse, we could hear cars all night from road close by. The next day when we got back from a day in the Kruger park, the place was visibly cleaner and tidier, but at that stage all was lost so we forfeited our balance and just drove home.
What the website shows about Hazyview's accommodation at the "Cottages" is not what we received.
Friendly reception. Struggled with hot water for the bath/shower on the second evening. The kitchen was poorly equipped in terms of cutlery. Living/dining space very dark, but the rooms are spacious. Safe with a gate and CCTV cameras. Couldn't use the swimming pool.
No hot water, not enough water pressure in the toilet, dark area, no mil, no pillow for third bed, no heater, bad reception. Terrible decor in the room.
The tranquility and beautiful landscape around us was the best part of our stay. The cottages are also perfectly furnished.

We booked Cottage 7 - Fig Tree Lodge - which was a little disappointing. Web-based bookings are a bit of a pot-luck affair as the unit definitely seemed bigger on the website, but was comfortable enough when we learned to navigate around the dining room/ kitchen table. Lighting a bit dingy - several light bulbs missing or broken. Tops of all high-level surfaces were dirty and the upstairs floor had not been swept or vacuumed. Open rubbish dump in adjacent field behind the swimming pool was pretty gross! I'm sure that in Summer the flies must be happy. Overall impression is that the establishment is old and could do with a coat of paint to spruce it up. Great service from host though, and safety was good.

A rural, inexpensive stay. We had an overnight stay and enjoyed the assistance of the helpful manager.
The accommodation meets all expectations. The owners have placed home-made and individual works of art (pictures, tiles etc) throughout the premises and it makes the place a little different. As a place to sleep, it was a good choice.

We had a very nice & pleasant stay. The place is ideal if you want to stay more then one day in the area. The swimming pool is a short distance away but has a few surprices for the visitor.

A beautiful charming country setting, the accomodation is adequate, but the place could do with a good cleaning. Other than that the host was gracious and very helpful, the gardens and pools are beautiful and very country styled. We loved it.
I will be visiting again soon, and must say that it is a lovely home-away-from-home - so overall I enjoyed my stay. However, I must mention that the cottage we stayed in required a bit of maintanace - the stove switches were not adjustable, the TV aerial needed fixing, and the shower leaked a bit into the lounge. Also, as it can be quite cold in winter, heaters would be a nice addition. If reception could give me a check list on what is in the room next time as well, the stay would be perfect. I'd recommend this place to friends and family - and just hope that the issues mentioned above will be addressed.
The cottage we stayed in was beautiful, and the attention to artistic detail in and around the cottages is lovely, and very quaint. You could almost feel as though you were in a Tuscan village or small village in the French winelands! Congratulations to Tienie & Ronelle on making this lovely place just outside the heart of Hazyview! We will definitely go back there again in the future.
The off road to the Cottages needs work. If a car is low it is difficult to reach the site. With the heat the top level is imposable to live in. Insulation in the roof or a air conditioner will help. Security is good and Tienie made sure our stay was re memorable. I will surely make use of HCC again.
We found the cottages a pleasurable experience. Only suggestion we gave to the owner it to put into the rules of the residance that no loud music, we had a problem with neigbours on both sides with excesive noice dispite the owners request to turn down the volume
Travelling to KNP every day,location great,did not spend many daylight hours here.Suited my needs.

Description
The cottage contains 2 bedrooms with a double bed, 2 single beds, and a sleeper couch in the lounge area. The cottage contains 2 bathrooms, 1 with a shower and 1 with a bath. There is a separate toilet. There is also an outdoor shower. The kitchenette is equipped for self-catering and contains a fridge, an oven and stove, a microwave, a toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, cutlery and crockery. Guests have access to an outdoor patio with braai facilities, as well as a private swimming pool in the garden. A TV, standing fan, linen, and towels are also provided.
The accommodation comprises 14 individually decorated cottages, accommodating 2 to 6 guests. Each cottage contains a bathroom and is equipped for self-catering facilities.
Guests have access to a natural looking swimming pool, and an entertainment room with a pool table, dartboard, and games.
The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and bird watching. Walks down to the Sand River can be enjoyed, as well as walks to Lover’s Rock along the natural stream. Meals can be arranged on request, and prior to arrival. The Elephant Sanctuary and Elephant Whispers are also located nearby, as well as golf courses at Sabie River Bungalows Golf Club, Kruger Park Lodge, and Lions Rock Golf Lodge. Shopping centres containing banks, doctors, pharmacies, and clothing shops can be found in Hazyview, along with restaurants and pubs.
