The Cottage Family Unit Family unit sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. One of the bedrooms is fitted with a queen-size bed while the other has a king-size bed. This unit is fully self-catering and can sleep up to 7 people sharing. This unit has a large balcony with braai facility.
The Fisherman’s Delight is suitable for a family of 2 adults and 1 child. It has one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a shower-over-bath, open-plan kitchen-lounge area with a double sleeper couch. The bedroom is fitted with a double bed. This unit has a large balcony with braai facility and is closest to the water's edge. Also on offer, is the Thatch unit, which is also situated right on the water and can sleep 6 guests.
Each kitchen is equipped with a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and 2-plate mini oven. Cutlery, crockery and bedding are supplied. All units have overhead fans and heaters. Nice, relaxing place. Friendly hosts. Will definitely go again. Jetty just needs to be upgraded.
The view is lovely and the kids loved it. The fishing was great.
Everyone was very helpful on arrival and assistance was provided with unloading. The weather didn't cooperate, but we couldn't complain about anything. Thank you, it was very nice.
It has a nice view, but the flat is very confined and messy. The ceiling fans don't work properly. The microwave is noisy. The fridge leaks and has paint peeling off. The walls are damp.
This is definitely the poorest place we have ever encountered. The pictures are a lie and the place is definitely not worth R200 a night. Everything was in a bad condition and very neglected. At this price, much better is expected. When we got clear signs of mouse remains in the daybed it was just too much for us. My wife and son refused to sleep there, but by then there were no sign of the owner or her staff. We lost R2 400.
Heaven on Vaal would have been the perfect destination if the building (and the area) was maintained and neat. We had water leaks right through the flat. We could not use the patio at all whilst it was raining. The white bedding on the photos, was not in the flat at all. The fitted sheets were torn. The kitchen wasn't properly cleaned and it was covered in flies on arrival. The staff were very helpful with carrying our luggage and the caretaker came to take a look at the leaks. The area where we fished was very neat. I think the price we paid wasn't in proportion to what we got.
Beautiful view and a sunrise that makes you feel so close to your Creator... Heaven on Vaal is exactly what the name says. The stay made us completely forget about the world and all its activities and we all rested properly and recharged.
The rooks are very nice with a fantastic views and easy access to the accommodation. The only let down was discovering that all of the flats are so close to each other, and you can see all the other unit's residents when on the balcony.
