I would suggest that the traveler just confirm in advance which unit they are getting. My unit was not the one described in the listing. Our unit was at the back of the house, with fairly style stairs outside to get to the top, such a large suitcase etc. is difficult to get up to, but despite that the unit itself was quite pleasant. Two big pluses for me were that we had a bathtub and a good working fridge. The unit is tiny, but it's quite enough if you're really just looking for a place to sleep for a night or two. We had access to WiFi if the power was on. There is no power if it is load shedding. They put a generator on one night, but it died after 30 min. I would suggest that they put one or two battery lights for the guests in the room just for times like this. The uncle and aunt were very friendly and helpful and we really felt safe and at home.

We were warmly and very kindly received. Helena also easily accommodated our request for additional sleeping space. The unit was very neat, clean and well equipped.
The accommodation has everything one might need to stay for a night or a wonderful holiday. The owner is very friendly and goes out of her way to make sure all facilities are up to standard and addresses any problems immediately. The breakfast was nicely packed for us so that we can take it with us for a picnic on our trip and more than enough food. There were nice sandwiches, fruit and yogurt and a fruit juice. Around the house there is a nice private garden to be able to sit outside and have a barbecue or relax. Truly a wonderful experience! Received more value than we paid for.
Well equipped for overnight stay. Musty smell of thatched roof after a lot of rain. Air conditioner malfunctioned during the evening and leaked water inside which was very uncomfortable.
Air conditioner spills water on carpet. Smells awful, advertisement states breakfast included, but not true. Generator out of order, had no power or water during power outage.
Electric blankets and better mattresses are recommended.
Reception was very friendly. Cute place and will definitely use the place again. Only had problems with hot water, but it was quickly fixed. You just have to look at the ad. It says that breakfast is included in the price, but they don't serve breakfast. We didn't make provision for taking anything with us for breakfast.
No prep work has been done in the room. There was powdered milk and sugar. Very tight! Will not book there again. If one has been on the road for 12 hours and the guest house where you have booked through this website does not expect you, it is very poor. Have booked many times through the website and have always been so satisfied. This was not good.
From arrival to departure everything was excellent. Good location, safe. Will stay there again.
The place itself is really nice and very neat. We were greeted by the kindest people. They immediately made me feel at home. I really have no complaints. The location of the place was perfect and I really slept well and ate really well there too. The host is a very nice lady and has very friendly staff. Enjoyed every moment there. Thank you so much for everything!

Location ideal for a stopover, hostess very hospitable and helpful. Good quality bedding and mattress. The hot water is a problem, we suspect it's a gas geyser and we only had a bit of hot water. While showering you suddenly have only icy cold water. The shower is also in need of a new shower head.
Van die vriendelike ontvangs deur die gasheer tot die netheid van die akkommodasie was net uit die boonste rakke. Die akkommodasie was netjies en skoon met alles wat jy nodig kan hê en nog meer. Ek het nie genoeg woorde om te beskryf hoe wonderlik ons die plek bevind het nie. Die enigste probleem wat ons as gaste kan vind is op te pak en te ry. Jy is eintlik spyt jy kan nie langer bly nie. My hoogste lof aan Helena's Gastehuis.

Unable to comment on self catering unit. We agreed to take a room as it was only for one night. No windows and the open plan bathroom not to my taste.
