Wildepeer cottage is an absolute gem. The setting is amazingly beautiful and the cottage is tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed and especially appreciated the fireplace because of the cold weather. Greyton is a quaint town and close enough to the farm to pop out for lunch.
Estelle was the perfect host. We had a great stay at Witpeer, and such a bonus that we could take our 2 Boston Terriers along. They loved it just as much. We will definitely be back!
We had the most wonderful time at Hemelsbreed's Olienhout Cottage. Estelle came to greet us in person and made sure we were comfortably at home. The place is fantastically equipped - including fresh fruit and milk - and the bedding is tops with hot water bottles and more. We kept the fireplace burning all weekend and there was plenty of wood provided to allow this. Mornings on the stoep are the most beautiful soul rest time while you sit tightly wrapped in a blanket and stare at the view. Truly a piece of paradise, we will definitely visit again!
This is the best farm stay and home I've ever rented. The host went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic weekend. The house is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. This is perfect for the furr and skin babies to play and enjoy.

Our cottage warmly welcomed our family of 5 on a cold winter's day. The environment allows itself to fully relax. We were very warmly welcomed by the owners and were able to really enjoy our time there.
Beautiful place between mountains with the most beautiful view, you feel part of the farm. Relax and enjoy seeing the horses, sheep and chickens. One can see they are much loved. Can't wait to go again. It's also very nice to stay just outside the town instead of inside the town. There is no cell phone reception, but the WiFi was nice and fast.

A warm welcome by Estelle, Hemelsbreed Farm perfectly kitted out. Picturesque, manicured greener than green lawns with herbs & spinach for use. Horses and donkeys in the paddocks. Enjoyed an easy walk around the borders of Hemelsbreed, hot outdoor shower and ample firewood for the chilly evenings. Absolute serenity for destressing. Going the extra mile to source and deliver items requested by our sister/in-law for our 20th anniversary.
The tranquility, together with the location and the decor of the unit was really pleasant. We had a lovely weekend. There is no mobile network, but the WiFi was nice and fast. It was nice not physically staying in Greyton. The wood duster in the living room was a winner both nights. There was enough wood etc. All that could possibly bother is the last piece of dirt road. A guest with very low profile tires is not going to want to drive there.

The farm is beautiful and very well kept with beautiful gardens. The house is very comfortable and luxurious. The atmosphere is relaxed. We enjoyed a lovely picnic on the lawn with great mountain views. We went to the Greyton Saturday market, which is quite close. An extra bonus was the quiet lamb which my children enjoyed feeding.
Wished we could stay longer! Estelle is a star. The accommodation is a perfect blend of antique and modern! Bathrooms are modern. Well stocked with firewood, kitchen necessities, various spaces to accommodate larger groups, fresh floral arrangements in every area, etc. There were interesting books, games, hats, etc., and a map of walks around the farm! Beds are 10 - 12 single beds in this house. We slept very well. Cleaning staff are also very friendly and helpful!

Lovely stay in Olienhout cottage. It is the most beautiful farm in the valley. It was during a heavy rain and floods and we had to stay an extra night. There was enough wood so that we could stay wonderfully warm. The cottage is very well furnished, neat and clean, and we received a delicious bowl of fruit upon our arrival. Estelle is an excellent hostess and went out of her way to help all the guests who were stranded due to the floods with everything they needed. I can definitely recommend Hemelsbreed and will definitely stay there again!
Greyton was a worthwhile stopover on our road trip.
It was a great getaway from everyone and everything, so beautiful in the mountains. The house was very well equipped and the decor was original and stylish. We had a great barbecue and enjoyed the stove in the house.

The stay was everything we wanted. Incredible silence, beautiful nature, clean and comfortable place to stay. There were also the special little things that made you feel at home, like flowers on the table, fruit in a bowl, they made you feel welcome. It was bitterly hot but the house and porch are cool. Nice swimming and walking. My dogs were out of their skin. Greyton is the most beautiful town with good restaurants and cute Saturday market.

We spent the most fantastic weekend at Hemelsbreed Farm to celebrate two blessings, one a birthday and the other a 32-year wedding anniversary. We could not have chosen a better destination, accommodation and host in Estelle. Upon arrival, we were gifted a thoughtful bottle of bubbly! I just mentioned in passing when I did the booking that it is a celebration weekend yet Estelle remembered. The love for their beautiful farm is palpable in everything, from the care taken in choosing the very apt name, the restoration of the Olienhout Cottage we stayed in being two small examples. When Estelle states "kitchen fully equipped" she means fully equipped with everything and more than you will need. The cottage is beautiful, charmingly styled and decorated and very comfy. Our two Schnauzies were welcomed with open arms and they enjoyed themselves thoroughly being able to roam around freely, come home for a nap and a meal and off again considering whether to visit the donkeys or the horses. The walled garden at the back with the outdoor braai is ideal to keep the dogs inside and the finishing so in sync with the sense of place. I can write a lot more. We will most definitely be back and I recommend to any reader of this review to visit soonest. Thank you so very much Estelle.

We were a group of 12 who are friends and family. We had an incredibly nice stay. There is so much attention to detail and plenty of wood for indoor and outdoor grilling and keeping warm. Would absolutely recommend it.

We booked Olienhout cottage for our 'babymoon' so that we could rest and relax before our baby's arrival. It was the best decision we could have made! We had a great time and relaxed! The farm is very beautiful and the house is very well furnished. You really don't need to pack anything more than your clothes and food. The accessories, bed, sheets, towels etc. is top quality. We really enjoyed the fireplace! The farm is a 10 minute drive from Greyton which makes the location truly ideal.
The view is indescribable, place is very neat and well equipped with everything you could need. It's a great getaway - I can recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet time away.
A quiet and beautiful setting with plenty of walks. Dog friendly. Welcoming hostess. And close enough to Greyton to enjoy its amenities too. I will return and recommend it.
The farm is beautiful. We had access to every corner which includes a nice walk up the hill where you are rewarded with a wide view of mountain and valley. The children spent hours with the horses, helping to feed and comb the horses. There is also a lovely pond where children rowed around in the boat. A real farm swimming pool is also available, but it's winter so we didn't use it. Wonderful open spaces, privacy and a view to the gorges in the mountain that will make your knees go weak. Mountain bike trails in and around Greyton itself, just around the corner, as well as green, fynbos-rich walking trails that will let your legs loose. Estelle and Christo were excellent hostesses and gentlemen. We come again!
Estelle was friendly and attentive, going out of her way to enhance our stay. Olienhout Cottage was well appointed and toasty thanks to the wood burner. We loved meeting all the animals. Especially Tjoppie and Milo. Hemelsbreed Farm is wonderfully located and the views from Olienhout are gorgeous. Check out Estelle's stylish touches in the bathroom. Also loved walks on the farm.
A great place for a weekend getaway from Cape Town. Everything you could possibly need was provided - including piles of firewood for the barbecue and the fireplace! The house was neat and clean, and Estelle went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We will definitely be back!

We really loved the cottage with it's authentic atmosphere and all the small details, beautiful flower bunch, fresh milk, oat crunchies to name just a few that made our stay so unforgettable. The gardens are a dream for us Namibians who are struggling to grow anything. Lots to do in the vicinity of Hemelsbreed Farm. So worth it to stay at least 3 days.
Our stay was very nice. From the smallest items like a nice bowl of fruit on our arrival to the personal welcome from the management. The cottage was well furnished and nice and cool during the hot summer days and evenings.
As soon as you turn onto the Hemelsbreed dirt road, you can feel the stress and confusion of city life leaving you. What a beautiful farm! Food for the soul and a place to 're-charge'. We stayed in Olienhout cottage. A charming house with a lovely front and back porch where you can hang out and just enjoy yourself and lose yourself in the tranquility and splendor around you. The house has everything you need and if you have forgotten something, Greyton is really close by! We also went for a walk and saw the most beautiful fynbos flowers. Thank you Estelle and Christo! It was nice to meet you and you made us feel at home right from the start! We will definitely come again and next time, and then we bring our mountain bikes, my mum and we stay longer so that we can explore the farm a little more and enjoy the silence again!

The cottage has everything one needs to enjoy a relaxing end comfortable escape from city life. Hemelsbreed is also far enough from Greyton to give you a sense of complete isolated peace, yet close enough to enjoy all this little gem of a town has to offer. Will definitely be back!
We stayed in Witpeer, everything needed is there, beautifully furnished and clean. Had no problem with WiFi and/or electronic connections. The most beautiful bedroom with its open-plan kitchen and sitting area, breathtaking views, the veranda with its built-in braai is as good as another sitting area with the most beautiful, beautiful sunset. The hiking trails take you to silences and views to dream of. We have become so fond of animals, another of Hemelsbreed's good deeds, to the community to rehabilitate neglected animals. The swimming pool a winner especially for children, there you can relax wonderfully, and of course the rowing boat on the large farm pond. It is safe and the beautiful lawn and gardens are so well looked after. For us city folk, and especially with children, this is an excellent getaway. Many thanks to our hostess Estelle for her helpfulness and kindness.
We relaxed wonderfully, walked on the farm, enjoyed Greyton and often went for walks in the nature reserve. This is a quiet getaway that is close enough to many other delights of Greyton and surrounding area. Estelle is also a friendly and caring hostess.

We had a great time in the Witpeer Cottage. The cottage is perfectly set up for those cold evenings! It had been a very nice chance to get away with absolute silence and rest for the soul.

We stayed in the smaller Witpeer Cottage which was both neat and clean, as well as equipped with every kitchen, braai or other essential/home comfort one may forget to pack for your holiday. We spent the weekend on Hemelsbreed and it was heavenly! The nature is picturesque and the self-catering unit we stayed in is very well furnished. Estelle is a very pleasant person and really thought of everything in the unit (including oil wood). Little treats like fudge on the bed, fresh fruit, flowers, and even sugar, tea, delicious biscuits, quality coffee and firewood complete the picture perfectly. A better place to switch off would be hard to find.

What a wonderful farm and stay. We were 5 couples, 3 teenagers and a 3 year old and rented out all three houses, Witpeer, Olienhout and Wildevy for the weekend. The houses are amazingly beautiful with antique furniture and modern finishes. Rusks, coffee, tea, milk, fruits and firewood in every home. The fireplace and fireplace inside the main house create a warm atmosphere and the large lawn in front of Witpeer and Wildevy was perfect for our 3 year old boy to play around. There are also horses, donkeys, sheep, chickens and ducks that give it a real feel. No cellphone signal or TVs ensured good family time and togetherness. We will visit the farm again! I can recommend all three cottages, but Wildevy and Witpeer were the highlight. the lawn, garden, pond and animals that are so close. Thank you, Estelle, for your hospitality and clean, neat and beautiful homes. We really enjoyed it and felt at home.

We had a great stay at Hemelsbreed, we booked all three cottages. The main house was very nice and was fully equipped, the outside braai was okay, it is a detached braai so we struggled to get a leg going and if the wind blows the wrong way, the smoke blows into the house or in one's eyes. but not too little, the owner was friendly and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Greyton is a very nice town with nice places to eat and a few shops. The market on Saturdays is okay, don't expect much. Thank you for the nice stay!

What a great weekend! Estelle and her husband put a lot of effort into the places and are so hospitable. Everything you need is there and so nice and tidy. Had a really nice stay and was peaceful and could just switch off for the weekend. Once a month they also have a lovely afternoon meal under the trees and we were lucky to be able to be there and enjoy the good food and company!

What a lovely surprise, just a stone's throw outside Greyton. The Olienhout cottage was clean, cozy and well equipped with everything you could need and enough wood to keep the cozy Dover stove going. Then there were also special treats such as filter coffee and fresh fruit and milk and biscuits. We really enjoyed the hiking trails on the farm as well as the peaceful farm atmosphere and the beautiful view of the meadows and mountains. It's the perfect place for a break and switch off weekend. Although the little house with the stove and open porch is not really suitable for a rambunctious toddler, the farm animals were nevertheless a big hit.
We had a great time in the Witpeer cottage. There was everything we would need and more. Plenty of wood is provided for the stoep's braai area and even more wood and blitz for the fireplace. The grill was a bonus. Everything was very neat and clean. The veranda with the comfortable chairs, the breathtaking view and the quiet atmosphere was just what we needed for a nice peaceful weekend away. Hemelsbreed Plaas hopefully see you again soon. My husband and I needed a break away from all the hustle and bustle after a busy year. Greyton was the answer. I came across the farm and it was perfect! The instructions to get there were simple. The cottage was perfectly appointed and had everything we needed. It was beautifully clean and provided for all our needs, from a nice, cozy bed to wood by the braai area. It was wonderfully quiet and we could breathe decently. The farm is just outside Greyton and was the ideal spot to have privacy and yet not too far to explore Greyton. I would highly recommend it to any visitor. Thank you for allowing us to have such a nice stay!
My husband and I spent the Easter long weekend at Hemelsbreed Olienhout Cottage - it was the perfect place to recharge, close enough to Greyton and situated near the beautiful mountains. The cottage itself is charming and beautifully decorated and we arrived to find fresh fruit, and milk and water in the fridge.

Plenty of room to run around and make friends with the two horses, and a large lawn. Nearby Greyton was also fun to explore with a variety of dining options and shops. Exceeded all my expectations by leaps and bounds, it truly is the perfect cottage getaway! Estelle definitely goes the extra mile to make the stay highly recommendable. Chocolate on your bed when you get there, enough wood for the Welcome Dover for the weekend and if you're looking for anything, it's there, from a wine opener to Glad Wrap. The cottage itself is cozy and tidy and the location is breathtaking! We will definitely go again.
Hemelsbreed has everything for an unforgettable weekend for young and old. From crisp white linen to never-ending silence. We were welcomed with proteas, fruit and drinks and were given enough wood for a fireplace that would burn all day long. The farm belonged to us for one wonderful weekend.
Not often do you find the perfect hide-away at an affordable rate. Very comfortable house: 3 spacious bedrooms on the ground floor and lovely large bed (2 persons each), bedding and towels. Each has his own spacious, modern bathroom. Lovely fireplace in the lounge and another fireplace next to the kitchen, perfectly equipped with even a dishwasher. Lovely central heating for the cold nights. Loft area can sleep 6 more people. Beautiful garden with trees - lovely veranda in front and at the back at the braai-area. Couldn't find fault with anything - perfect. Was also wonderful to meet Estelle and her little dogs. Glad it's a pet friendly place. Highly recommended.
