There are 5 bedrooms in the main house that can accommodate 8 adults and 2 children under the age of 12-years old. The main bedroom is spacious with a queen-size bed and a full, en-suite bathroom. There is a separate area with a double sleeper couch for children. The second and third bedrooms each have a double bed and the fourth bedroom has 2 single beds. It has a full second bathroom with bath and shower. The bedrooms and living rooms are equipped with air-conditioners. There is also a detached cottage fitted with a double bed and its own bathroom that accommodates 2 adults.
The kitchen has all of the necessary appliances for a care-free, self-catering stay.
The lounge has comfortable seating and a TV with DStv.
For the hot days there is a sheltered swimming hole in the evening kitchen. It also offers braai facilities for guests to enjoy preparing a meal together.

We had a great time. The place is neat and has everything needed. Will definitely use Henne's Rest again.
We had a good break, and the kitchen had all the amenities almost like home. The caretaker was very helpful. The only negative is that the dip pool was ice cold, perhaps a solar panel/heat pump would solve that .
Henne's Rest is truly an underrated gem. It is like a little piece of bush paradise, and staying there is truly therapeutic. Lorna was always willing to answer questions we had beforehand, and Liresia was always just a phone call away if we needed something. We didn't need to drive anywhere to see wildlife, as our daily visits were in abundance from the wildlife. Everything from nosy monkeys, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebra, birds, various buck and the majestic kudu visited us every day. The view across the river was amazing. We even saw a family of hippos and clearly heard them at night. It is truly worth every cent and the long travel from Cape Town. In a nutshell, the best and most memorable holiday we had as a family.

The weekend was nice. Saw a lot of animals and the place is close to the Kruger fence.
It wasn't bad, but the fact that the house sits on such a busy corner means that you don't really experience peace and quiet. On the website, it looks like the house sits next to the river, but unfortunately it's busy, everyone drives and walks past it. They expect everyone to wash their own dishes, which I have no problem with, but the things are not clean enough. I think they can check it now and then and please. everything was once.

Thank you to Liresia, she was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome. Enjoyed all the little visitors to the house, it was a treat. We enjoyed our stay and would love to visit Henne's Rest again soon. Hopefully, we can get to see some more views on the Kruger fence side next time, with all the rains the vegetation is quite overgrown but we still managed to watch the elephants drinking from the viewing deck.
Trees and bushes in front of house very high, which makes it difficult to see the river. No DStv decoder, just a smart TV that you need to use your own DStv account. Well Netflix. Wifi slow which makes streaming difficult.

We were very happy with the place and the inverter that was supplied and we used and was a big benefit.
Great stay. Communication was poor. Ended up without hot water to the flat for 2 days. No welcome intro, keys left in braai. Only found out there was Wi-Fi available 3 days into our stay.

Very cute place. Comfortable, spacious house. Clean and tidy. There was everything we needed and more. Animals visited us every day, including blue wildebeest, giraffes, warthogs and a variety of goats. Liresia was very friendly and hospitable on reception and departure and Lorna gave us all the necessary information in advance.

The house a located within a few meters from the river with a great view from the viewing deck. Everything was spotless when we arrived. With a splash pool and very spacious entertaining area, this house is perfect for larger groups.

The accommodation is amazing! Easy practical cooking and living space. Sufficient space for a large group. High quality linen and beds. Amazing location as we had Zebra, Blue wildebeest, Kudu, Giraffe and many other deer and an ostrich visiting us! Best of all is the friendly caretaker Lirisha that make the booking in and out experience an absolute joy!

Henne's Rest is a nice visiting house. The place is very neat and clean and wonderfully cool. If one wanted to change or add something, it would be another fridge. Storing 12 people's fresh food, especially with two babies, in one fridge was clever. However, this did not prevent us from having a very nice weekend.
We will definitely see this place again. Very tidy, all the necessary facilities, friendly service and opposite the Kruger Park. Would perhaps like more lighting in the rooms, but it's a small thing. Wish we had stayed longer!
The house is beautiful and the deck (where a night owl lives) a bonus. The braai facilities are top notch and the swimming pool conveniently close to keep an eye on the children. Thanks also for the water and ice machine that was available. Can only suggest that a 3-legged pot is purchased for families who like a nice visit pot. Thank you very much, the week was wonderful!

The gas stove has an electric burner that automatically switches on, but when it's load-shedding, you need to light it with firefighters manually.Guests can enquire about the Wi-Fi password.
Please close all windows on your way out and when you are not there. Baboons will get into the accommodation and cause damage if windows are not closed. The guest will be held responsible for the damages.
