Good service and tasty meals in restaurant.
The bathroom could do with hanging space for more towels and clothes. There are no plates, knives and forks, kitchen towels or kitchen sink available. There is a restaurant available, but sometimes you want to make something to eat yourself.
Friendly reception and brilliant service.
Very nice stay. Nice vibe at restaurant and bar. It is a must to sleep over when traveling from the Cape to Namibia.
Basic - good hospitality - tasty food.
There was a problem with the door, but it was fixed in no time. Staff were friendly.
We would only suggest that there could be comfortable chairs on the porch and attention to the bathrooms. Other than that it was an absolutely lovely place. Cute people. Good food and convenient because the accommodation and restaurant are in the same place. Wow. We will go again.
We didn't use the restaurant, but it looks like a very nice visit.
It was very cold and the heater didn't seem to be working. It is very basic but was clean and all we needed was a place to sleep overnight. Good safe off-street parking and friendly service.
Herb Garden is a clean, tidy guest house with a restaurant that serves the most delicious food.
This place is perfect for overnight accommodation (the restaurant next door is very convenient, but also keep in mind if you want to turn in early as you can hear it from the rooms - they don't go on too late though). However, we stayed for 3 nights which was not ideal at this specific accommodation - not recommended for a long stay. We had quite a few issues with the water and shower as well, so just find out if they have been resolved before you book - the shower was specifically unpleasant with the drain pushing up the water. Other than that - you get what you pay for.
We booked precisely because they advertise a restaurant. Once there they mentioned that they are only open during flower time. Nowhere was this mentioned. On arrival the drain in front of our room was blocked. They knew we were coming, why wasn't it repaired already in the morning? The rooms also look tired. The door of our closet in the room was held with a piece of paper.
The bathroom did nothave a light due to faulty wiring. The shower floor was dirty and the shower drain was blocked so we had a flood in the room which they had to dry. No bathroom mirror for my wife to do her hair. They did however in their defence refund us a portion of our accommodation fee. Restaurant was good and food was nice.
Friendly staff and clean accommodation.
The food in their own restaurant was very good. The only issue I have is the parking availability and that a lot of the times the gate was left unlocked.

The place is very nice but on arrival our air conditioner did not work and after being on the road for 15 hours was disappointed to walk into a hot room. The owner did open the windows and provide a fan which did not help much. But overall room was very comfortable.

Good restaurant. Poor shower and toilet. Sink in room is not private. Self care? Definitely not. no place to wash your cups. Not a plate to heat your food. A very cold and dark room. No shower door or curtain, water pooled. Toilet seat was loose.
Quiver tree room reserved. Entrance door shed on the ground, built-in hanging cupboard doesn't even have a handle. Small room in which there is nothing. Create the impression of outbuilding. Generator a plus, but DStv advertised, but then there was only Netflix. Then connected DStv, but we could hardly ever watch, because the image freezes or disappears completely. Then moved us to other room which was better.
Had a great stay, received hospitably by Danny, had a delicious meal at their restaurant, definitely recommend accommodation and restaurant. Would recommend everyone to stay there.
On arrival coffee offered at the restaurant without payment. Provided with a delicious menu and on Sunday, Springbok shank was served at a very reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and everything is in working order. Great stay.

The doors between the rooms can be closed to reduce the noise of other guests visiting and crying children at half past two in the evening.

At short notice we were helped with accommodation by the owner and a nice meal at the restuarant. Very hospitable people.
Our stay was very comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean and wonderfully luxurious bedding. Location is nice and central to town, restaurants and shops. Definitely worthwhile affordable accommodation.

The town of Springbok looks very busy and parking for vehicles is a concern.
The accommodation is neat, comfortable and clean and the restaurant's menu offers a good variety. It is a bonus to get the accommodation and meals in the same place.
The rooms are very comfortable but the restaurant service very slow.

Had a delicious dinner and breakfast. The bathroom could do with a hanger or small table to put your things down. Feeling safe.
I did not read correctly when I made the reservation, they are not "self-catering". So there are no plates, bowls, knives and forks. I am diabetic and cannot eat just any hotel food. The tub has a thick, rusty mark from the faucet to the outlet. Due to a power outage, we were unable to shower, and the generator was placed under our bathroom window. The room is also not insulated from the noise coming from the dining hall. It sounds like the people are sitting in your room talking. Do not recommend it at all. Not up to the standard I'm used to from the website. They were also the most expensive of the 3 places we stayed in Namaqualand.
The room we had sleeps 3, but there was only 1 cup. Little bit of very cheap, hard coffee in a little container. The bed was fine but overall stay was not good at all.

The owner ran a nursery for a long time and converted it into a place to live due to the scarcity of water. There is an excellent restaurant on site. The owner was there during dinner and had an entertaining conversation with us about a wide range of matters, which I really enjoyed. Parking is available off the street (another review here complained about it), but the area is so safe anyway that it sleeps the owner's own vehicles on the street. After a very negative experience in Windhoek earlier in the week, this was the complete opposite.

The bathtub in Kokerboomkamer was dirty and badly stained. There is no place for soap or shampoo to put down in the shower. The hanging cabinet doors do not have handles on them. On request, a loose mirror was placed in the bathroom window for shaving. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. The one cabinet door cannot open otherwise the TV falls off the wall. The staff are very friendly and the bedding is clean and of high quality. With all the accommodation in the area it would not be recommended.
After the initial problem with the accommodation, management moved us to a more acceptable unit. Price of meals at their restaurant is very high - well above the average of similar stays. Management was very friendly.

Owner is new entrepreneur. The rooms are large, clean and tidy. Stayed five days. Other accommodation in Springbok is very expensive at this time of year. This is not a place with "bling" but is excellent value for money. Definitely. The food is excellent. The most delicious hamburgers in SA. We ate all our meals there. We didn't want to go anywhere else. In addition to being reasonably priced, the food is excellent. Everything is fresh. If it wasn't so far we would have driven there just to eat out. No Spur food comes close to these dishes or burgers. Feel free to visit the restaurant even if you live elsewhere.
Already said what was needed. Our room was acceptable and comfortable with TV and restaurant very comfortable and relaxed. Not much to do like in JHB or Cape Town, but understandable.
We traveled from Namibia and our vehicle had to be parked on the street in front of the accommodation (secure parking). We were tired and hot and looking forward to a good swim. There is a swimming pool but no water. The room was immaculately clean but the air-con wouldn't work, they struggled to get it to work at first. We ordered food for the evening at a restaurant. My husband ordered sirloin but got a very unappetizing small fillet. They got mad when we sent it back. Our room door wouldn't lock either. The place outside is not tidy and we would not recommend the place to anyone.
Advertise secure parking, it's on pavement? Curtains are dirty, struggle to close them properly. Shower wets entire bathroom floor, no carpets and tiles smooth. Have to wait for host to come help us.
