Robyn is truly amazing! It was a very short overnight stay, which was perfect. I arrived late, but she still took the time to explain and show me everything. There is an electric blanket as well as a heater, which helped a lot since it was a late arrival and a very early departure.

Owner is incredibly friendly. Mattresses were really old and worn out. The shower is broken and there is only a curtain hanging in front. Bed linen and towels are clean and tidy. All cutlery is available. The microwave is rusted and doesn't look good.

We booked in on Friday afternoon. Was met by the owner Brian. What a pleasant experience. The cottage was welcoming and cosy. The linen was bright white and clean. The attention to detail was spot on. There was tea and coffee, as well as breakfast cereal and fresh milk. The view was breathtaking. Nothing like a view of the mountains and horses to help you relax. I really enjoyed listening to the history of the building. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who would like a getaway or a stopover.

The cottages need some attention, nothing a good cleaning can't fix as there were visitors in the roof! They don't bother that much, but when your "bratches" jump around at two in the morning it's not always so nice! Owners are old world people, and the main house has a charm that cannot be described!

Old Prison is highly recommended. Staff are very friendly, food is very well priced and well prepared, owner should be recognized for what she does without any government help to maintain the place. Beautiful village and good municipal management as far as I can see.

Not exactly dog friendly. Although one has a tiny yard enclosed, you have to walk through owners' property to get out main gate to walk the dog. Owners have 8 dogs. Deceiving. Owners' house lovely and overlooking a garden. Our cottage was tucked in the back of the house. What one sees and what one gets are not the same, unfortunately. But a good location.
Ons het regtig 'n wonderlike tyd gehad. As jy vrede en natuur beleef, is dit die plek vir jou. Die gasvryheid was uitstekend. Ek sal beslis elke keer teruggaan. Selfs die kinders het dit geniet, hulle is vry.
Very nice small cottage. Has a fenced garden so your (medium sized) dog can come along. A tiny dog could slip through the fence and a large dog could jump over. The steep stairs to the loft are not ideal if you have a toddler. There are beautiful views of the mountains and some horses nearby for added interest.

We only stayed one night with two teenage daughters. The cottage has everything one needs. It was clean and tidy, just needs a little TLC. Plekkie is a bit stuffy and musty. Would recommend air conditioning. Other than that, we can't complain. Value for money.
It was only an overnight stop for us. What a beautiful old town! Lovely stay, we enjoyed it. Also bought pottery and looked at horses.
The only thing missing is a mosquito net of some sort at the door. There were loads of things flying in at night due to the light being on.

Went to Riversdale for an Enduro biking race and needed accommodation for 1 night. For the price this was the best value out there for sure. Friendly service, and room had everything I needed. It was spacious too!
It is our second time at Heritage House. We have been received warmly on both occasions. This time round our host, seeing my wife has difficulty walking, offered us the Zebra unit instead of the Guinea Fowl unit, in order for her not have to take the stairs. Brilliant.
Satisfactory. Only wanted an overnight stay and was completely satisfied.
I will use this accommodation every time and recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a comfortable and indescribably pleasant getaway.
The owners are happy to help and the staff are very friendly. Your place is cleaned neatly and bed linen changed every day when you drive somewhere. The tarrentaal cottage is nice away from home with its own yard, not too big or too small and is nice and cool.

Beautiful old house but they don't really cater for the disabled which is a big gap in SA tourism industry. However, people are very pleasant and helpful.

My 72 year old mother was bitten by bed bugs. If I can give advice to anyone who is going to stay in any guest house or self-catering unit, check the mattress and between the sheets first because you never know. It's creepy! To think you are paying a lot of money to get eaten by dirty mattress bugs. See, I'm disappointed. It was the first and last time at that place.

The main building requires maintenance (woodwork neglected). Cleaner did not come in one day, and when she came in, only.cleaned the lower floor.

They have big hearts for abused animals, hence the many dogs and cats on the site. Each one has a story, but they are well taught and controlled and are not a nuisance at all, or allowed in the rooms. Everything one needs is available. We had a great barbecue and visited and just relaxed. It is so centrally located, that as often as I wanted, even in the evening, I could just walk down the street to visit my mother in the nursing home. I recommend them with love and peace of mind to anyone who can appreciate the peace and quiet and friendliness of the countryside.

The smell of the attic room where we stayed was very unpleasant. We suspect that animals (possibly a cat) had access to the room. The kitchen sink's water couldn't drain and pushed up.
The cottages were nice but the room inside the house had a smell of too many cats and the owners had the TV on loud every night and early morning. Sorry but for the amount of times I get away I would like a little more privacy and cleanliness.

All you need is in Zebra Cottage, but it does need a thorough cleaning. Plagued by mosquitoes and heat, so ceiling fans and mosquito mesh are essential for summer. It would be awesome with these amendments.

We could barbecue in front of the cottage and the cottage had all barbecue tools. Porridge, coffee and milk were also included which was handy.
