The room was neat and comfortable, and the facilities are perfect for unwinding.
Unfortunately, Hermanus experienced the severe wind and wildfires on Friday 11 Jan, after which the power was off from 16h00 until the following day. We left the premises at 17h00 on Saturday and returned home, a day early. There was no hot water for us to bathe. The guest house was definitely not washed up for emergencies, a small light was provided which was completely inadequate. Breakfast is the worst we have ever experienced. Room is poorly laid out and no privacy is offered, room next to us were people who were making so much noise and drinking. Finally, the guest house is too far from restaurants, you have to use a vehicle.
Annatje and her staff is what makes the difference. Treated with a hot-water bottle in the evening and nice padkos for the day, what a surprise. The friendliest service and hospitality made our 3 days such a pleasure. Breakfast was divine, great variety of delicious things to eat. Don't look any further for good, clean, value-for-money accommodation in Hermanus.
