Fantastic service and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Will definitely go back again for a visit.
Friendly staff. Definitely a place for longer packing than just one night, but worth it for just overnight as well. Very neat. Calm and quiet. Air conditioning makes hot and cold days/nights pleasant. Nice place for a large group or just a single person/family.
The last few km of the road are not the best for smaller vehicles, but once you get there the lodge makes up for the road's condition. For sure a place that must be seen to appreciate. All facilities are there, decent beds (something many lodges miss), fire place and also braai place.

We were alone there for the evening, which obviously makes it very peaceful.
I gave only 3 stars for location because the road to Het Slot is not great, but if you're staying a few nights it is very worth the rough road (for bakkies, cars would struggle), or if you are going to Botswana via the Stuckpoort border post then it's a very good stopover.
Very well looked after place to stay.
We arrived very late from the airport on Friday night. It is a self-catering lodge but with arrangement. Our host organized for us a feast meal and also arranged braai with braai broodjies and salad for the Saturday night. They are wonderful hosts. Thank you very much. We will visit again.
Friendly meeting, clean place, best bed I've ever slept in. Will definitely stay there again. Suzette herself called the Nyala to come and greet us, was awesome. Thank you Suzette.
This was our second time at Het Slot Lodge as a large group of family. Once again we really enjoyed it. Very neat and feels at home. Perfect and safe for small children.
No malaria and accessible in ordinary car if you go really slowly over the bumps.

We really enjoyed our long weekend with family. Thanks again to Suzette - we especially enjoyed the game drive and the nightcaps. Everything is well equipped and even though it is hot, every bedroom has air conditioning. The pool was also lovely to cool off in.
Pieter and Suzette are two wonderful people who run the place. If you can get past the lack of TV and internet it is such a peaceful place, very well looked after and equipped. We were kindly received and even greeted when we left.
We are a family of 11 - everyone (including children) is more than satisfied with what we got at Het Slot. In the midst of the normally warm days during December, the children enjoyed the pool while the rest hung out in the cool under the baobab tree. The other living areas and kitchen are spacious and very well equipped. The bedrooms are very neat, clean and comfortable with very effective air conditioners. What brings everything together very well and pleasantly is the hospitality of Pieter and Suzette. Pleasant people who don't hesitate to go the extra mile. It was truly a Christmas that we will remember forever.
