I felt our shower was not very convenient. Water spilled a lot on the floor. It can improve. Television was missing in our room and this led to us getting bored later. Otherwise the service was excellent. The receptionist has a lovely attitude towards her customers. The entire staff all have a friendly attitude. I give them 100% for human relations. Good service.
The silence, natural beauty, friendliness, hospitality are absolutely to be recommended. Location absolutely ideal. You can walk to so many places. I enjoyed it so much and will visit the place again. Thank you very much.
Hotel was great, management made you feel very welcome and we had lots of fun. Evenings can get pretty cold, so an electric blanket sorted that out.
The accommodation was below par for the price charged. Mould was growing on the walls, the room was not clean, and the facilities in the room were disappointing - for example we did not have a shower.
Hogsback Inn has kept a lot of tradition and history in its building. It is a very homely place that should not be ignored by holiday dwellers. Two thumbs up from me.
My impression of backpackers is dorm rooms and everyone is in each other's business. At Hogsback Inn this is not the case, sufficient facilities for the few private rooms available. Simple, but sufficient. Good beds with good quality, warm bedding, Clean kitchen and bathroom with hot water. Not bad at all.
It's beautiful and definitely historic. The children had a lot of fun exploring the gardens. Friendly and helpful staff. We would stay there again when we have the chance.

Wood for indoor fire was provided and a bathroom with a tub and shower. The TV is old and not really visible from the bed or couch, but Hogsback is so beautiful, we were hardly inside long enough to notice. There is no network/wifi in the rooms. This was missed as one had to move to the reception to sort out phone admin. Hogsback is a magical destination. Hogsback Inn is central and full of Hogsback history.
The building is weathered and in need of maintenance and renovation.
After returning after many years was horribly disappointed. The room we booked was terrible. Used to stay in it. Was upgraded to a 'better'' which was indeed bigger and more spacious but still dirty. The carpets are horrendous and the curtains are also dirty. Restaurants serve good food. Just very slow. Took an hour for our food and we were the first to order. Unfortunately will not visit the Inn again. Much nicer places to stay in Hogsback.
The place needs a lot of renovation work, also a lot of trouble with hot water.

The inn is fairly centrally located. It is somewhat dated, but has a rich history. Grounds are beautiful, although the rain can cause some deep ditches in the clay road leading up to the inn. Staff is kind and very friendly. Had a great stay!

Breakfast is extra but delicious. It was a bit cold at night, and a heater would be welcome. Customer service was top notch and so was the stream that runs behind the hotel!
The Hogsback Inn is located in a beautiful location but the 4 sleeper is poorly maintained and sleeping arrangements not suitable for a family with 2 teenagers. Although clean, the furniture is old, with holes in the fabric and the springs worn through. Only one plate on the stove works and the oven does not work at all. The bottom of the kitchen cupboards are rotting.

A hidden gem for sure!
The Hogsback Inn is one of the oldest places in Hogsback and very nicely located. There are many nice hiking trails and other activities in the area.

It was our first visit to Hogsback and the Hogsback Inn and it will most definitely not be out last. The customer service was really adequate, the people are so friendly and helpful, and always wanted to help with everything and more!
For backpackers rooms, the rates are way too expensive. The place is in dire need of renovation. Walls moldy, carpets kaput, furniture in the portal broken and run down. Kitchen not a place to prepare food. Where there should have been glass windows between the rooms and the portal there were only wooden boards. And the room I had to sleep in was still in two parts, which means that the room has no privacy. No proper parking outside. Showers lack attention and are not hygienic. The fridge in the kitchen didn't have any ice in it and I went to see the manager via the barmaid and asked if I could buy ice. The man was very curt and informed me that the ice he has is only for his customers/guests. We paid ridiculously high prices and we weren't counted as guests? We got much better for less money with our further holiday accommodation. I will clearly make sure in my conversations with others that Hogsback is not a good place. I also took quite a few photos to back up my story here.

Hogsback Inn is ideally located in the central part of Hogsback. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make your stay pleasant. I had problems with my car and even with that they helped. Restaurant available, good menu and the food was delicious.
Nature is well cared for in the yard every plant is healthy. Took a lot of picture everywhere. Food is great dining areas are to die for.

Lovely, old school charm, but don't expect any mod cons! If you're staying self-catering then remember to have all of your supplies as there is only one shop in town which is sometimes closed. The food is delicious at the restaurant! The Wi-Fi is only accessible in the hotel and not in the self-catering rooms.

Accommodation was clean and tidy, but the hotel decor is old and in need of attention. The mentality of the owners is poor, things are tackled lazily, for example instead of mounting the multiplug on the wall they balance it on the trash can, there are marks everywhere on the walls that need to be painted etc.
The staff are friendly, the rooms in a miserable condition. Ceilings detached from the wall, the rugs dirty and old, cobwebs in the bathroom. It really felt like we were getting the oldest and dirtiest room and we booked a long time ago. The food average. Small bowl of soup for very a lot of money. A TV that blades in a dining room with a comedy program is not acceptable. Will not stay there again.
Great 2nd visit. The old hotel, with its bar full of atmosphere, was our home for 3 nights. For those who like fancy hotels, stay away. But if, like us, you like a fantastic atmosphere and great service with old world charm and an incredible location, then Hogsback Inn is the place for you! Thank you, we will come again!
A beautiful location with lots to do for the family if you like walking and nature. Otherwise you can sit next to the fireplace and read a book while watching the stream.

The hotel looks very nice from the outside but the rooms are very old and the carpets, bedding and curtains need a good cleaning. Hogsback is a beautiful town and the hotel is very nicely located but needs attention.
TV out of order, place needs urgent attention due to painting and maintenance.
Give this place a miss! Old, dingy and worst of all dirty! Most of the taps leak, closets are broken, water damage on the ceiling everywhere. Hotel staff enter the room unannounced. Location is great but accommodation is down right terrible.
Management did nothing to stop it. Good accommodation, the rooms are particularly large.
This was a memory that will always stay with us.
