54 guests' feedbackNora and Lukas were very friendly and very helpful. We had a very nice stay there.
Very nice stay. Comfortable. Nice quiet. Perfectly located.
It was a pleasure. I loved it. It served its intended need.
Yes, definitely. Conveniently close to Camp Discovery. If neatly clean.
Elizabeth is a charming host.
Small property great for small group bookings or a weekend getaway. Definitely value for money. Great location with access to the reserve. Recommended for summer months to laze by the pool! Bathroom walls could use a new lick of paint to help with the mildew, and the kitchen could use a tin opener.
I really enjoyed my stay at Honey Lodge. Everything was very clean and tidy. I will definitely stay there again.
We had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and neat.
We were a group of 12 family members for a birthday. Honey Lodge has everything one needs and we had a great time together.
Excellent cleanliness and very friendly staff.
We had a great time barbecuing in the boma and eating on the deck. The room was also very neat and had everything that was needed.
The place was clean and the lady I found at the reception was very kind, everything was perfect.
Rooms were neat and clean and we were received very kindly. Could have a good time and facilities were available.
Well located, clean and tidy. Would suggest that the staff are more visible on arrival and explain the use of facilities such as the Wi-Fi and air conditioner. Maybe put up a sheet explaining facilities in the chalet. I suggest an automatic gate on the side where guests stop at chalets to avoid having to get out of the car late at night to push the gate open and close.
We had a wonderful rest, but more attention can be given for sure, especially the kitchen, plates, pots etc. can be looked at. what was there was not the cleanest, there were also no steak knives or other sharp knives with which to prepare our food. Lodge itself also needs attention and a bit of cheering up, but otherwise we had a wonderful stay and rested, also saw a lot of wildlife from the porch.
I would suggest the lodge to apply B&B, it's crazy to have several families scrambling to make their own breakfast, the facility must also notify customers that we have to pay at the reserve main gate. Please fix the manual gate, we saw a lion not far from the gate, imagine having to self-open and close the gate while wild animals roam around, please also wash the blankets in the rooms, our blanket had a weird smell, the lady assisting us was super friendly and always checking on us.
The three-bedroom is very cramped with a totally useless "kitchen" and tiny bar fridge. The braai is on a 3x1 m veranda with no view. The communal braai area was left filthy and the staff simply ignored requests to clean it up. There was not enough cutlery for 3 people in the three bedroom and also only 2 towels. Wifi only available in one place outside. Guests played music despite a notice prohibiting it and were not addressed. It was not a pleasure to live there, avoid at all costs! The only positive experience was the drives on Kaallaagtestraat which always make for nice wildlife sightings.
The pool was dirty, the shower was not clean, people noisy, pool was cold, not warm at all. No, man.
We arrived at Honey Lodge and were welcomed with open arms by staff. Site is neat and well maintained.
I have always loved staying at Honey Lodge and not only is it clean and comfortable, the staff are happy and helpful. I love going there!
Had an awesome experience. Friendly staff.
See stars.
The staff were great and the animals were really beautiful especially the Za Zoe birds and the 2 cats.
It was really really nice and LizBet and the other guy there were so nice and helpful. We had a nice time.
Mona and Lukas welcomed us and were very attentive and showed us all the available facilities. Loved the boma area for braaing and "kuiering". Bought some wild flora and bluegum honey there, which is very tasty.
Overall, our experience was very pleasant. Friendly service, nice clean rooms and a nice pool bed. Any criticism: One out of 2 of the rooms we rented did not have coffee and milk powder available.
Lukas was very friendly with reception and prompt service. Cats on premises was a pleasant experience. Also enjoyed the different types of birds in mornings at chalet.
Peaceful surroundings. Variety of game grazed past daily. Upstairs viewing area and bird hide are a good idea. The two cats were very charming. Good shower. No frills, just what we needed. Bring your own dish soap, dish cloth and bath soap and shampoo. Induction stove requires some careful handling.
Lukas and Nora really looked after us and were willing to help with anything we needed.
Was just me and nature.
Very nice place, would recommend it to anyone.
This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway, affordable, friendly staff, very neat and clean. We really couldn't fault it and would definitely come again. Thank you for your kindness. We also really enjoyed the game drive and the guide Ingrid was very friendly and taught us a lot about the forest, not just the animals.
Our highlight was watching the animals at the watering hole...it was an absolute treat. The service was great, chalet neat. I will definitely go there again.
Might just want to see the rest of the Big 5 next time. Did see the rhino.
I will definitely go back but next time with a special person to share the special site with.
Quiet, clean, quiet with wildlife visible from your porch.
Unfortunately we did not have electricity for 8 hours, and there were no candles available for us to use. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and there were braai facilities available.
Residential unit neat and clean, their outdoor workshop area must be partitioned off from guests' living area. Residence needs exterior paint and maybe new patio furniture.
I would love to go any time, Elizabeth and Uncle Anton you doing a great job we even bought their delicious honey. It's a nice place to relax and have a restful weekend.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The facility was very quiet and peaceful with animals drinking from the nearby dam.
The "self-catering" is actually like staying in a hotel room with limited space to unpack foodstuffs for the weekend. The fridge was right next to my bed and gave me a restless night because it kept going on during the night. The kitchen facility is shared by all booked at the lodge. Because the 6 of us were further away from the kitchen it was a mission to carry the dishes to the kitchen for wash-up and there was nothing in the room for carrying it (e.g. tray/basket). Although the boma is also a shared area, we were lucky to find a spot under the trees to create a little braai area for the 6 of us. This made it all good.
Had a lovely view from the cottage.
It was ok but would love to be catered.
Honey Lodge is a beautiful place with a beautiful view of nature.
Reception was already closed when we wanted to check in, we had to find a room ourselves to stay in, very small for 3 people, even for two.
A very nice place with good value for money. The pool is awesome and it has everything you might need for braai. The honey they make is divine and a must try! Rooms are great, shampoo and shower gel would be good to have but we did not mind.
I would recommend Honey Lodge to anyone. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We learned a lot on the game drive and our guide, Denvor, made it an adventure for us. The accommodation at Honey Lodge is clean and tidy. It's peaceful there and you relax completely. Thank you very much.
My husband and I looked at the sunbag while there were blue wildebeest walking in front of us. Had a drink and had a nice barbecue while the boma kept us warm. Place is also ideal for family weekends or with friends. The boma was the highlight for us.
Very clean rooms, some kitchen appliances not working, but generally well equipped kitchen. Great fridge and freezer space. They arranged ice for us pre-arrival which was hugely helpful for a small fee. We hosted a party of 17 and had all our basic needs well met. Remember to take your own wood for a boma fire.
It was last minute planned and Honey Lodge is one of a few lodges that offers 1 night only stays, which worked out perfectly for our family. Will definitely go back there for a longer stay. Great team and very friendly. Thanks Anton.
Had a fantastic weekend away.
Honey Lodge is a stress free zone. I was refusing to go home.
