The treatment is bad. They don't know how to speak to guests. The room we occupied had no air conditioning, and the WiFi connection was poor. We complained repeatedly with no luck. Other guests receive special treatment and are treated based on their position or who they are. I wouldn't even recommend anyone for a stay there.

Parking is at the front door, so no long drive to the house, enough space for 3 vehicles. During power outages, they provide power for your lights through a generator. If you are looking for a place that is quiet and tranquil, this is the place for you. Although it's a bit of a drive, it's well worth it. With only the sheep looking at you, not a problem. Spotlessly clean, this large house was a home away from home. Best place in Hopetown.

It is a good stop over with little else in the town itself. However, there are many tourist attractions in the area.
Pet friendly with secure parking. Nice hard mattress and very nice shower. Our stay was also moved, without any problems, after an unexpected death.
Nice place to spend the night. Not luxurious but was really very nice. There had been delicious biscuits to eat and also muesli and yoghurt. The only negative comment is that there was only 1 teaspoon.
A few recommendations: Clean under the sofas and beds and wipe the sink in the kitchen. A larger variety of pots and, for example, a can opener will come in handy. It would be great if 1 unit could be harnessed to make extra provision for dogs with a camp to be able to roam freely.

We were warmly welcomed by Danielle, loved the reminder SMS, felt special. There was, however, a concern with the room closest to the exit: in the cupboard closer to the bed, there was what looked like bat or mice droppings, some of which were caught in a big spider web. Kind off unsettling. Other than that the place was really nice.
We were a little disappointed because no one was there to meet us. The WiFi didn't work and there was a pest of ants that made it unpalatable. Our dog couldn't even do his thing without being bitten by the ants. We were very hungry when we got there with no option to get something for dinner. The owner did, however, send us phone numbers of restaurants, but no one answered.

Overall a comfortable apartment, though the open toilet in the bedroom wasn't the best idea. The window sill in the kitchen had a thick layer of dust which testified of poor housekeeping, and the several cracked windows didn't leave a good impression either. The paint on the gutters and window frames is peeling. We couldn't see any signs directing us to reception and had to phone to gain access. Thank goodness for living in the era of cellphones!

Departure creates the idea of space and tranquility. There are even decent couches! Something that one can always recommend is that in our very hot country there should always be ice and cold water in the small fridges.

The room was tasteful, neat and very clean. The air cooling was indispensable! The agent said that the unit has a sofa bed as well, in addition to the double bed. So I expected a larger unit and also paid more than the minimum amount shown on the website (I assume the minimum amount on the website was the cost of the small unit that was offered to us - this only had a double bed). So I feel that I may have paid too much for what I got in the end.

Nice and spacious house with more than enough space to sleep. Rooms are very neat, one bathroom with a bath which was a bonus after a tiring day in the veld. And to get muesli, yogurt and rusks at this price was a real bonus. Only negative thing is that the entrance is a large bedroom - one can enter through the kitchen too. But it is really minimal when compared to everything included in the price.

The Guest Cottage was very neat and equipped with everything (and more) than we needed from an overnight facility. The rusks, yogurt, cereal and milk was a nice surprise. The aircon was also welcome, because it was 38°C! Parking is spacious and behind an electrical gate with a palisade fence. Hopetown Guest Cottage will definitely be on our short list for our annual sleepover in the Karoo.
