It is an off-the-grid farm stay where guests get to enjoy a break-away with only candles or LED lights, a gas geyser, stove and fridge.
Upon entering the house there is a small reading nook where guests can read a book or 2 on a quiet afternoon, which flows into a spacious open-plan dining room and sunroom. The house has wooden floors throughout, giving it a lovely character. The fully equipped self-catering kitchen has a gas stove and gas fridge, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery.
The spacious, original farmhouse can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a hand-made, four-poster double bed and the woodwork replicates the gables of the owner's house when they lived in Stellenbosch. It has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet. The second bedroom has a single bed and the third bedroom has 3 single beds. The fourth bedroom has a bunk bed. There is 1 family bathroom with a corner bath, shower and toilet as well as a separate guest toilet. Hot water is supplied with the gas geyser.
The separate cottage can sleep an extra 4 guests. The main bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin. The second room has 2 single beds.
Guests can enjoy a braai at the indoor braai in the kitchen or outside on the patio.
The farm is dependent on rain and has a summer rainfall season. There is a small dam close to the house where guests can enjoy sundowners or a lovely big dam, Moolman’s Dam, a short drive away perfect for picnics on the banks or bird watching. For those looking for a bit of adventure, guests can hike up Bulberg with magnificent views from the top. Bring along a mountain bike as there are some beautiful routes on and around the farm.
Approximately 14 km down the road guests can view the Orange Fish Tunnel which brings water from the Gariep Dam to the farms along the Teebus River. It is essential to make an appointment for viewing. Please indicate interest when booking.
This self-catering farm stay is a nature lover’s dream with plenty of space, birds, animals, stars and so much more.
