Situated on a 60-hectare conservancy hosting only plains game, makes Horizon Savannah safe for walking, cycling and running. Really enjoyed the environment. It is very quiet and a nice break from the city. The site is beautiful and large enough to have a nice walk among the animals. The chalet was clean, tidy and very comfortable.

Reason for value for money - can't dump if it's load shedding. The braai does not have wheels and must be lifted by 2 people to move. The grill under the coals is burnt through and the coals are low under the meat. Everything else is beautifully "upmarket".

We had a great two-night stay. They were ready to open the gate for us when we arrived and gave us some good information on what can be done in the area. The braai facilities were nice and the environment was quiet and comfortable. We awoke the next morning to birds knocking at the window and we spent the day exploring Dinokeng. Our biggest challenge was that the roads weren't the best for our hatchback. A high clearance vehicle would have made the experience even better! This was communicated to us beforehand though, so that it isn't Horizon's fault.

It is a bit remote. Many dirt roads must be driven with a 4x4 vehicle instead. I did enjoy the silence and wildlife.
Didn't have much to do. Friends who lived nearby got more value and paid less.
To stay in the bushveld like that. Wild animals everywhere. So close to nature. The host is so friendly and I would go back anytime!

Unbelievable tranquility, real wild animals that are tame enough to see plenty of, abundant wildlife, many paths to explore the field on foot, safe, no disturbances such as noise and lots of people movement. Nicely furnished, everything you need and more, very nice view. It was perfect for us two middle aged people who want to hike, relax, make fires and appreciate sunsets on our own time. The silence actually hissed in our ears - exactly what we wanted!

Stargazing, grilling, swimming, watching wildlife and appreciating the silence, a winning recipe for relaxing and switching off. Our accommodation (chalet for 2 people) was well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen (with gas stove and gas kettle), indoor table, outdoor table by the fire, couches, everything one needs to relax and switch off. No TV as it would spoil the atmosphere. Remember the swimming towels!

This was our second time at Horizon and once again it was lovely. Everything we needed was available. Load shedding and water pressure don't work together, but luckily it didn't affect us. Light wash provided for load shedding.

It was our first time in Dinokeng reserve. The hostess received us very kindly and everything in the house was beautifully clean and tidy. A bald goat and blue wildebeest grazed peacefully around the house while we sat around the fire in the late afternoon.

Too bad load shedding has such a big impact on everything, even water pumps' pressure.
The place is quite new and still needs a lot of development. Trees have been planted, but will take time to grow. No green grass, lots of dust. Units look neat from the outside but inside there are construction and finish deficiencies. Then, by the way, beautiful furniture and clean, comfortable sleeping facilities. No power backup. Apparently there is a lot of work in progress. I'd love to watch again in five years.

It's a great getaway in nature. There are limited units and camping space and it makes you feel like you are staying alone with nature around you. The chalet is very well furnished and tidy. Our hostess received us generously and immediately made us feel at home.
We arrived there to a very friendly Lynn that welcomed us with open arms. The peaceful quietness of the place is breath taking. Woke up to a very sunny morning, the girls took out a ride and walk into the bushes and felt safe and as if they were home, one with nature. Place was clean and spacious. Thank you Lynn.

It was so fun! The camp and ablution facilities are very neat and beautiful! The scenery, sunrise and sunset are some of the most beautiful we have ever experienced! Thank you Lynn and Gerald, it was lovely to visit you!
Please add can opener to kitchen utensils. The place without power for odd day or so. Owners forgot to switch on water pressure pump to unit. Would recommend fan or aircon to the unit to keep cool and assist with lots of flies and mosquitos at night.
You will never regret. It's so quiet and peaceful woodland and a nice fire. Open glass doors and windows allow you to see the nature 360 view. Beautiful. Lynne has very nice decor in the chalet. Modern kitchen. enough crockery and plenty of glasses.
