Arcadia is not a pleasant area. If you do have to/want to stay in the area, 224 offers you the no. 1 option for accommodation, and is value for money, tidy, safe and very good service.
It was a pleasure to stay there and great service.
Food was great. Just 50 minutes' drive from the East Rand.
We were impressed with how clean and tidy it was and would recommend anyone to book with Hotel 224. The hotel is central to all the attractions. A special thanks also to Kenneth who made sure with the shuttle that we could travel safely.
We got there at 14:00 and we couldn't go to the room until 15:30, had to hang around in the lobby, nobody knew what was going on and people were booked into rooms that already had people in them. It was very messy, but once we were in our room it was clean and tidy and we had a nice time there. We didn't have breakfast, but the others said the food was good.
Not a good experience at all, the check in at 14h00 was chaos, the rooms were not ready yet, there were hordes of people sitting in reception waiting for their rooms, very unprofessional. Some of our friends only got their rooms before 16h00. The rooms are very small and cramped, don't think I will stay there again.
Despite the hotel being in close proximity to Loftus, the area did not seem very nice or safe. The room was also extremely small creating a feeling of claustrophobia.
We stayed in Hotel 224 with our school choir who participated in a competition. I was surprised at how the arrangements flowed with such a large group of children. All the apartments were neat and well equipped. Their meals were of good quality and plentiful. Their buffet breakfast was a great variety and very very tasty.
The rooms are clean and tidy and the restaurant on site staff are friendly and the food was of a high quality. However, there was confusion with the payment and this caused awkwardness.
When we got there, they reasoned over the amount paid seeing as how the agent apparently subtracted it and instead of R350 we still had to pay, they wanted an amount greater than R500. After we requested a refund and wanted to go look for a different place to stay, the owner came and apologised and the problem was solved. Unnecessary inconvenience. Don't know if I'd stay there again.
It was good in the past, but it has deteriorated a lot.
I was well attended to by your reception and assisted quickly. Your service is excellent the breakfast was out of this world! Proper guidance was provide by your staff. I am looking forward to my next visit to you establishment. Keep up the good work.

The hotel offers excellent value for money and is very central. The food is really excellent in the price range. I stayed on the top floor in a non-smoking room which offered a wonderful view of Pretoria.
Good value for money. The buffet dinner was a bit disappointing, but the breakfast made up for it. Will certainly use this institution's service again in the future.

The reception area is brisk and professional. The clothing of the waiters is cut suits. The attire for guests in the restaurant/dining hall is semi-formal. The dinner and breakfast are well prepared and there is a variety of food/dishes to choose from. On the 12th floor there is a nice view of the Union Building and illuminated gardens. There is of course movement all night. I would definitely recommend Hotel 224 for a short stay for business interests and even longer for tourists.

An excellent hotel in Pretoria.
The venue was good and clean, I will definitely used it in the future and can or will recommend it to a friend, though I felt that the room was a bit small.
Very convenient stay when you need to visit the Eye Institute. Thank you for your help to assist me with transport to and from the Eye hospital! It was much appreciated!
