30 guests' feedbackEnjoyed our stay. It is an older type of railway house, with modern bathrooms and facilities. The house is very neatly furnished, it is also perfect for a family with children, with lots of walking and playing area surrounding. The Jakobs Kroning coffee provided was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.
Very nice, just extremely hot. An air conditioner would be wonderful.
The house is close to several points of interest - the nursery is a must. Well equipped house with everything needed. The outdoor barbecue is a nice place to visit.

Very nice stay. Got much more than I expected. It's not everyday that one gets a whole house to oneself! It's a bit remote, but that's only a problem if you like a lot of people around you. I really enjoyed having some quiet around me.
We had a lovely stay at House 22 Tulbagh Road. We enjoyed the back yard for a quick braai. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location is a bit out of town, but not too far if you forgot something. It is close to the waterfall. The driveway should be made more level as lower cars skid against the ground when pulling in. Overall, it was a very lovely stay and we received friendly service from all involved.
The house is very nicely changed, clean, tidy and spacious. It took us all back to our childhood. Although none of us grew up in a railway house, we did know someone from the railways and can still remember the houses well.
Internet service as advertised was of poor quality - relevant to being online.
Will be calmer next time and comb the town properly.

We had a wonderful stay at House 22, the house was exactly as pictured and located. We enjoyed the quiet, tranquil surroundings, being so far out of the main centre was exactly what we needed after long days exploring the surrounding areas of Tulbagh, Ceres, Prince Alfred Hamlet. The old railway house is nicely updated and more than spacious, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the kitchen was well equipped, we needed nothing. We loved the bespoke wooden furniture in the lounge and kitchen.
Louis was very quick to respond and helpful with anything we needed. The house was well stocked but there was nowhere to unpack clothes. The fireplace was lovely in the cold evenings and the children enjoyed playing garden. We had a lovely and peaceful stay.
The house is very well equipped for self-catering travellers. Beds and towels good quality and clean. I would recommend the owner to pay attention to the garden as well as put wardrobes in the rooms to store clothes. We had to live out of our suitcases for three nights. Furthermore, there are renovations here and there that can be done inside the house. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.
The granny flat apartment is clean, modestly furnished and contains all that you’ll need to a great getaway location not too far from the centre of Tulbagh, but sufficiently far to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The neighbourhood contains a few other privately owned properties and the pets in the area are most welcoming, often checking up on you to make sure that all is in order. Our host was very attentive and very helpful. We had a great time. Pity the latest lockdown introduction closed all the local wine farms on the night we arrived.

The place was neat and everything was left ready by the owner. Tulbagh itself and a number of hiking trails are located nearby. I would book there again for a weekend getaway anytime.
Louis was excellent at making sure the place was ready to welcome us. We found it had everything we needed and the kids loved the large garden. Although our stay was short, it was most enjoyable.
Ons het dit baie geniet. Dit was baie goeie waarde vir geld. Die eienaar was direk in kontak met ons deurgaans en baie behulpsaam. Head's up dat daar baie muskiete is in hierdie area - die huis was volledig toegerus met Tabard en elektriese muskietweerder. Die area is stil en rustig. Sal beslis weer oorweeg om hierna toe te kom.

House 22 Tulbagh Road was a good destination for us as wedding guests in Tulbagh itself. The accommodation was accessible and the landlord was very helpful!
We quite enjoyed staying out of town where it was quiet and peaceful with no traffic noise. It was actually nice to sometimes just hear a train go by. The barbecue area behind the apartment was cozy and even charcoal and blitz were available at Weber barbecue. The apartment has everything one needs. I would have preferred more hanging space for clothes and wet towels in the bedroom such as a coat rack in the corner of the room or a couple of double hooks on the wall.
We had a lovely stay in House 22. They offer you everything you need and more.

Very clean and hosts were very friendly. Nice spot but nowhere to unpack clothes.
It is difficult to live with a large dog in a place that is not fenced. The owners did let us know that the property is not fenced, but it's hard to find pet-friendly accommodation near Tulbagh, so we accepted it.
Dirt, old broken furniture and carpets, garage that was made flat across from the train track, smelly inside, didn't want to meet us with a 50% refund, had to find another place to stay which was an extra R4000 out of our pocket!
