Had all the necessary comforts in the room, although the room was quite small - but perfect for one. The common areas (terraces, pool, lounge, and dining areas) are beautiful, spacious, and with great views. The breakfast was delicious and ample with good coffee - always a win!
Amazing place with amazing staff. The view of the ocean paired with a peaceful stay makes this the perfect place to stay during Cape Town visits.

The room was comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful! The weather was dreadful, and there is a long walk from the gate to the rooms, which is uncovered. There is no DSTV, although there is an ample choice of movies.

Overall not bad. The TV did not work on arrival, but the host sorted it out. The drain in the bathroom basin is broken; water keeps running out. The drain in the shower is not letting water out quickly enough. I had to close the water to ensure the floor did not get wet. My son is on a diet, and when we asked if he could have extra eggs for breakfast, they said to him they only cook food once. Not good for a place that says they have a chef as an owner. The outdoor furniture was only set up after 08:00 in the morning. Overall not bad, but I will think twice if I will book there again. For a quick in and out, not a bad place, but do not expect too much.
Room's mattress, pillows and bedding need upgrading. Toilet brush needs to be replaced. Unpleasant smell from the bathroom.

Had a great time. Would have been better with DSTV or Netflix. Washbasin in the en suite bathroom too small (room 4). Parking spaces for vehicles not long enough; the backs of larger vehicles hang slightly in the street.

I booked two double rooms. I requested that one be reduced to a single, no response, no deduction. A response, either way, would have been appreciated.

We really enjoyed our time at Hout & About. We only chose it as a place to sleep and weren't there much during the day so we chose a small room but it was perfect for us. We had such a great stay at Hout & About. The breakfast is amazing and Thomas and Alice along with their staff goes above and beyond to make the stay amazing. Thank you also for accommodating two very busy little toddlers!
We were told to keep quiet during the day. We were called about being noisy which was untrue. Owner is very discriminating against children. Unfriendly, not a children friendly place, it's mostly for couples. The pool is situated amongst the rooms, however you are not allowed to make noise during the day because residents complain.

Neat, clean and world-class guest house with the most beautiful views. The staff are well trained, friendly and helpful. Rooms are very modern and kept incredibly tidy. The owners, Thomas and Alice are incredibly friendly and professional. Thomas is very knowledgeable about the Cape and its surroundings and practically planned our day to day program for us. He is a chef who serves a delicious breakfast every morning and he empowers his staff to serve the same quality if he cannot be there. We will certainly consider their guest house first on our next visit to the Cape.
The hostess and host are very cute, helpful and involved. The rooms are modern and clean. We liked the Netflix option on the TV rather than the wounded DStv channels. The breakfast area is particularly comfortable with the most beautiful view - the prefect way to start the day! The breakfast was delicious with more than enough options. We will stay at no other place than Hout & About when we are in the Hout Bay area.
We stayed with Alice and Thomas for a week. The interior, which they have done themselves, is modern, colourful and tasteful. Sleeping is great but waking up even better: you eat your breakfast at a terrace overlooking the bay. It is an extensive breakfast, in which they serve a Special that is cooked by Thomas. A splendid start of the day! We got also good advice over all kind if things: hikes, restaurants, sights and routes. And they assisted with Uber and Tabel Mountain Cable car tickets. Coming in after a touristic day was like coming home. We warmly recommend Hout & About.

Rooms wonderfully spacious, high quality bed and bedding, breakfast was delicious with fantastic views and wonderful personal service. The only downside is that the hot water has to run so long before it gets hot, in our water-poor country it is not good.

Hout & About is highly recommended, newly opened B&B with hands on owners, lovely breakfast was prepared every morning while overlooking a great view of Hout bay, harbour and mountain. Clean and well looked after rooms and facilities. Thomas and Alice is always up for a conversation.
We arrived at Hout and About after dark and couldn't see the view, my breath was literally taken away at sunrise. The host and hostess, Thomas and Alice, made our whole group feel so welcome and even assisted us with special requests. The rooms are practically laid out and provided with all basic needs. The beds sleep well and everything was neat and clean. The location is perfect for fishermen and holidaymakers as it is close to the harbor and the main road is easily accessible from the guest house. We can really give Hout and About full marks.
Definitely home away from home. Gourmet chef prepared a scrumptious breakfast every morning and the most homely feeling from the hostess. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. We will definitely recommend and revisit again.
