The house was perfect for us. Neat and clean. It was safe and within walking distance from the beach. Check-in and check-out was easy, and the security at Shelley Point were friendly and helpful in assisting us to get the key. The neighbourhood is quiet, and all the houses are easy on the eye and neat. The house had WiFi, Netflix, and Apple TV.
House was very nice. Really enjoyed it, water in the taps was just very cold and couldn't enjoy it. But otherwise we enjoyed the house and the stay.
Well equipped place and good value for your money.

Huis Maria is a very nice and well-equipped beach house. I think it would be ideal to stay there for a longer period than a weekend, and get to know St Helena Bay better. The back area is ideal for our dogs and they enjoyed lying on the lawn. There is everything one needs in the kitchen, as well as enough lights for load shedding. The floor was a bit dirty - but we just washed our feet every night before we got into bed. It's holiday!

The host(s) were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The photos online really don't do the house justice, it really exceeded our expectations in more ways than one. The space, the entertainment, the fact that it was pet-friendly was the cherry on the cake!
Our stay at Huis Maria was very nice until we had loadshedding. There were no provisions for the main problem we are experiencing nowadays. We were advised to make use of lanterns, which left us all with black residue in our noses and mouths, including my 5 and 8-year-old children. This made me very unhappy.

As the rugby and cricket world cup competition is on and we were looking forward to watching it on television, it was a big disappointment not being able to do so due to inaccessibility to DSTV.

It will be helpful if there was a guest book with instructions eg. How to operate the TV and decoder. The gutter is leaking water when it's raining onto the glass door leading to the braai.
Place was clean and had everything you would need on a holiday.
Our visit at Huis Maria was out of the books! The house is well equipped with everything one needs and beautiful interior that makes you feel like you are by the sea. Something that could possibly be considered is a security gate in front, since one would like to leave doors open by the sea and the front door is on the street. Excellent service from our hostess, Jessica, whom we could contact at any time! I would definitely recommend this home to anyone!

House Maria is very stylishly equipped. Lovely holiday home. Did think it was closer to the sea, but at least walking distance. Jessica communicated with us all the time and explained everything, which was very nice. Will definitely recommend them.
If you are looking for a real West Coast getaway then look no further. Huis Maria is beautifully decorated and the style reminds you of the Koos Kombuis song about wanting a house by the ocean. Everything that you need is there. The location is great and quiet and you feel comfortable. It's also close to the supermarkets and restaurants. It doesn't matter whether you're on your own or with a family, you can spend quality time here. My family and I enjoyed our 3 night stay here and made a lot of memories. Thank you, Huis Maria!
It's a very neat, comfortable house with a pleasant atmosphere and the high ceilings give a special feeling of space. The house is very well equipped and the back porch with the braai a nice place to visit. The vast beach so close was a nice surprise.
Unbearable heat, no air-cons/fans. Was extremely hot and uncomfortable. We came back to Cape Town on Saturday night because of that.

Good accommodation for a weekend, dog and child friendly. A bit far from the ocean. The gravel around the house hurts your feet. Huis Maria is cute and neat.
No bedding for the kids on sleeper couches.
