Second time we stay at Huis Maroela. Had a great time and the children really enjoyed the animals (zebras, wildebeests, kudus, hedgehogs) on the front porch. The house is very well equipped with everything you need! Still as neat and well looked after as when we visited 2 years ago.

We love Marloth Park and Huis Maroela conveys the true character of Marloth Park. The house is clean, spacious and modern. We were four adults with two very small children and we still fit and stayed comfortably. The house is nice and warm in the winter evenings. It is a beautiful house, very neat and beautifully laid out. Will stay there again for sure! I would have liked a pool cover over the pool because we have a little one. The only negative comment is that the shower water was not always nice and hot, nevertheless we enjoyed it very much!

Lovely house with everything one needs. Many animals (kudus, banded mouse dogs, warthogs, impalas, zebras and bushbucks) will eat right out of your hand. Definitely worth it. Very nice clean and tidy. Nice visiting area around the boma. They "check" by phone to see if you are happy and are incredibly friendly. Will definitely visit again. 23 km from Crocodile Bridge for a nice trip to the Kruger National Park. Even saw elephants through the fence.

A bit disappointing. My arrival dates got mixed up so had to wait to book in. No power till the next day but got sorted out, Wi-Fi was unavailable the last 2 days of the stay.
The house, location, animals are all 5 star! The spacious living area with natural light from all sides stole my heart. No costs were spared. From luxurious bed linen to cutlery, the most discerning guest will be satisfied. The glass doors that can both open wide give a lovely open and spacious feeling and the high roof certainly contributes. An awful lot of animals visit the house all day long. Super special and would definitely recommend Huis Maroel. We see you again.

The location is quiet, the house is very beautiful and clean, and there are a lot of nature light. There is a lot of space also outside to enjoy nature. Maybe it will be better with aircon also in the kitchen. When we'll come back again I'll know where to go, I'll don't have to do other searches.

Wifi didn't work, she was contacted and was supposed to turn up after the rugby, but never did. She was supposed to come the next day, but didn't either. Then started communicating with the owner, Ronell. After 3 days the wifi was back on after the technicians were there twice. There is gas geyser available. Attention please given before guests check in that the wifi is working and that at least one of the gas bottles is full to be able to take a shower and use the stove.

We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) who stayed in Huis Maroela for a week in December 2022. The facilities of the house are absolutely wonderful, the house is large, the open plan and high ceilings create a feeling of absolute space and freedom. We go to Marloth Park at least every year and this house was by far our favorite of all! We will definitely be back next year. The hostess, aunt Dina, is a beautiful, hospitable lady and there is literally nothing we could improve on or ask for better. Thank you very much, Aunt Dina!

We had such a wonderful holiday with our two kids and toddler. The house was spotless and mostly baby friendly, so our toddler could crawl around to his heart's delight. The house has beautiful natural light and windows in 360 degrees so you don't miss any of the game that wanders by. The house is laid out really well and is very spacious. The finishes and interior décor are very tasteful. The energy of the house is serene, you can feel the love that has gone into building this place. The owner Ronel, and manager Tannie Dina, were extremely pleasant to deal with and got back to us quickly when we had questions etc. We will definitely be back.
We had such a pleasant stay at Huis Maroela. The house is modern and clean. We had plenty of animals come around. We went with another couple and my 2 year old and it was such a relaxing weekend. Just what we needed. If you like watching TV, please note there isn't one. This is not a problem for us. Also the swimming pool is not heated and there is no solar for loadshedding. But it didn't bother us as we enjoyed being outside and feeding the animals.
The big Maroela tree, in front and next to the house, stole our hearts right away, and the Huis Maroela was a delicious treat in the forest. The house is ideally located, close enough to the river, so that many animals came to visit, but far enough, so that people did not flatten the road in front of the house. All our boxes are ticked: clean, neat, tidy, with the necessary kitchen facilities, an ice machine to help against the heat, and a cool plunge pool against the African sun. We were unaware of our neighbors and our souls were truly refreshed. If it bothers you that the master bedroom bed has an unobstructed view of the toilet, I'd say skip it. None of the toilets are truly private. But otherwise, we can recommend the place with great confidence. We really enjoyed every moment, phase 4 load shedding and heat because of it. air conditioning that doesn't work in load shedding, unfortunately. Our stay was top notch and we were able to really recharge our batteries. We would love to go back again! Thank you very much!

An aircon in the front house is definitely recommended for those terribly hot days when you can't live outside. The big fan makes a lot of noise and feels like it's just blowing the hot air around. We loved the big open windows at the house. Loved the thought that went into the appliances, such as an ice machine and Nespresso machine. Loved the fact the pool is under cover so you don't burn whilst cooling down in the bush heat. Quiet location where we got to hear the lions roaring at night. Animals visited during the day. The accommodation provides bath and swim towels which makes it so much easier. Well equipped kitchen with good make appliances. Very happy and after staying at many places in Marloth Park I think we have found our favourite. Tannie Dina was also very accommodating when we arrived earlier than expected and then left early in the morning. Will be back.

We had a great time at Huis Maroela. Everything is perfect. Nice, neat, clean, modern. The place is really perfectly built, with enough living space. If you sit on the porch in the afternoon, the sun doesn't burn you, and sets on the other side of the house. Rooms are spacious, with en-suite bathrooms. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Animals often visit for some food and fruit. It was wonderfully relaxing, we will visit again! I would only suggest that maybe a chest freezer is put in - if you come with two couples, for 4 or 5 days, with all your food, and you still have to buy ice to keep soft drinks cold, the fridge and freezer take up space but handsome Please remember, if you're in the woods, it's not a place for music and noise - be quiet, and let nature come to you, it's a beautiful place to unwind and switch off.

Huis Maroela is by far the best house we have ever checked into in Marloth. The location is fantastic with a small pond about 100 m from the house. The design of the house brings in the forest but still modern. Everything one needs is there. One can see and feel that everything has been designed with tons of love for nature. We have never had wild animals so close to us. It was absolutely amazing. While we swim there are zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, bushbucks, impalas, kudus, giraffes and so many more animals around us. When you wake up or even wash dishes, there are animals to be seen with all the big glass doors and windows. Such a nice big, spacious and modern house and equipped with very good and durable goods! This the 4th place we have stayed at Marloth Park, Huis Maroela it the best, there is everything you need to make your stay even more pleasurable, the daily vist from the animals (too many to mention) was a great bonus, the braai area was relaxing and great to unwind with a cold one after a day in the park, we will be back, highly recommendable.

Baie dankie Huis Maroela! Ons het ’n baie lekker vakansie gehad! Die huis is regtig baie mooi en gemaklik. Die braai-area is baie groot en goed beplan met die groot opvou glasdeure. Kinders het die splash pool geniet, maar meeste van alles die diere wat elke oggend en aand ’n draai kom maak en uit jou hand uit eet! Fantasties!

House rules
Huis Maroela requests that outdoor furniture be brought inside if guests visit the national park for the day.Swimming towels provided.
Guests need to bring bottled water and it can be bought from the shops in Marloth Park too.
Tannie Dina will meet you at Huis Maroela to hand over the keys. Arrangements will be sent through 2 days before check-in on WhatsApp.
Guests must please wash the dishes before departure, or a cleaning service can be arranged for an extra fee.
The house comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 5 guests at a time, but the fifth guest must be under 12 years old. This guest will sleep on a single day bed in the living room. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and also has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The house was designed to be cool in summer with a high roof and energy-saving glass windows and sliding doors. Each room also has air conditioning. There are solar panels and a battery system to lessen the impact of loadshedding.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas and electric stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the kitchen island or on the verandah next to the swimming pool under the shade of the giant marula tree. There is a Nespresso machine for the coffee lovers. Just take your own capsules. There is an ice machine. Swimming towels is provided.
The lounge has comfortable couches, and a dining area with ample seating where guests can enjoy their meals together. Guests can also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access. Please note there is not TV. The living area has sliding doors that slide open all around and lead to the verandah, swimming pool and the braai boma respectively.
There are lovely braai facilities available for guests’ use during their stay and guests are afforded parking on the premises.
Hippos, lions and hyenas provide the night music in Marloth Park, while the call of the fish eagles resounds throughout the day. Game drives and fishing excursions can be arranged at extra cost. There are several restaurants in Marloth Park. Bring along binoculars and hiking boots and walk long distances along the Crocodile River that forms the boundary between Kruger National Park and Marloth Park.
