Everything we needed, and luckily we took toilet paper, hand wash soap, dish soap and cleaning supplies with us. At least it would be nice if the owner would provide cleaning products. One is used to washing up, drying off and packing away. We also chose to use our own grill.

Everything is close by. The sound of the waves through the day is so calming. The little boys had lots to play with. The inside braai is definitely a bonus. The house is very spacious and the couches and bed are comfortable. The only thing is, if you're scared of some friendly creatures bring the bug spray. We had a mouse visit us, as well as a turtle and a spider or two in the bathroom. Other than that, it was a great stay!

On arrival at home, we had to drive back to Gansbaai to collect the key. Anel could have told us this ahead of time. Directions to the house are incredibly complicated, better use Google Maps. Furthermore, we had a great time and a visit from Anel (or from a representative) would have neatly rounded off the experience. Despite this, I will visit again! Oh yes, please bring bring your own toilet paper!

"House is generally a nice looking home, good location with all the necessary amenities and is affordable. However, was very disappointed in the cleanliness / hygienic condition of beds, bathrooms and kitchen amenities."

We chose the optional extra, namely bedding. However, the bedding that was covered on both beds was not fresh, washed bedding at all - it had a musty, dirty smell. This smell was already present with entering the rooms! When we lay down on the beds, it was clear that it was the bedding that gave off the bad smell. We pulled it off and then discovered that the mattress protectors were also very dirty and certainly not washed clean. The owner was called and she was of course very surprised and insisted that the bedding should be clean and said when she would contact the person who should maintain the house. She could not immediately get hold of her. It was late evening and she told us to look in the closets for other bedding - unfortunately there was no clean bedding - everything that was there smelled musty and dirty. She then insisted that she bought a new set of bedding to put on the bed. The first night we had to sleep on towels and beach blankets that we brought with us. The owner could only get hold of the cleaner the next morning. However, when the cleaner came to us, it was a very rude woman with no decent manners or the slightest idea of ​​how a guest service provider should behave towards dissatisfied customers. The bedding she put on there was clean, but there was a sheet deficiency. We then had to buy it ourselves, with the owner's permission. The owner did compensate us for the sheets costs as well as the fee for the bedding option. Regarding the bathroom, the shower was extremely dirty - the soap scum seals between the tiles on both the shower walls and floor were very thick and ran off against the tiles as the water ran over them. It was very clear for a long time. Until the soap still stuck to the hanging basket. In the micro wave, the rusted bits from the top fell into the milk and food that warmed us. The cutlery drawer was dirty and we first had to wash it together with all the cutlery in it. In all our experience with accommodation, we have never experienced such an untidy bed, bathroom and kitchen. Superficially, the house was neat, but it was very clear that a good cleaning and scrubbing in the house had not taken place for a long time. The loose carpets, especially the size of the porch, were also dirty. I propose that the owner appoint another cleaning service and will more often come and inspect the house she rents out as a holiday home for a fee.
