I had forgotten to bring my phone charger and plug with me. After I had finally gotten hold of a charger, the lady at reception went out of her way to get me a plug.

I was contacted in advance as a reminder of the booking, and on arrival I was kindly greeted and shown to my room. There is also a small restaurant with affordable prices, as well as a bar.

Not a nice stay at all. There is not even a fan in the rooms, and the mirror in the bathroom is black from the mif.

Hotel is fine just not ideal for longer then one night, bad location, nothing to do around hotel and bar was very loud until late. Despite this the staff were lovely.

The door did work correctly, shower head leaked, the heater was broken also the kitchen close at 5pm? Even in lockdown that is very early. Also no WiFi was available.

Very noisy with no control over the bar area. Drunk patrons in the street screaming.

There was no hot water in either room. It's winter and it was an unpleasant situation.

Arrival: Upon our arrival a person urinated very close to the front door. I had to search extensively for the person at reception to get the room keys. The carpets in the hallway are very dirty and have stains on them which do not leave a good impression at all. If needed I can provide photos that can support my explanation. The room: The room is clean but in the bathroom the "extractor fan" is full of dust. The dirt can be seen very clearly. The mold at the bottom of the shower is in places. The shower leaks onto the floor which wets the floor and the risk of slipping is very high. No rubber mat in the shower to minimize slipping. The plug on the spout of the shower is loose. Baggage: I always have a fear that my luggage will be searched by the cleaners. Vehicle safety: There is good parking with an electric gate but unfortunately the restaurant's people left the gate open which again puts my vehicle's safety at risk. Star rating: The 3 star rating is totally misleading as the place shares a bar and slot machine area. This causes people to fight outside (for whatever reason) which disturbs my sleep and rest. WiFi: WiFi is available but no coverage in the room where I was at home. I cannot comment this as a negative but I would believe that if it is made available to guests then it should be ensured that WiFi coverage reaches all rooms. Location: The location of the hotel is between a lot of vehicle repair places such as auto electricians, radiators etc. and also in a more "older" part of Humansdorp very close to a community that makes me uncomfortable. The location of the hotel in relation to the places in and around Jeffreys Bay and PE is very well located. Dinner: Upon my arrival it was mentioned to me that the kitchen had already closed at 18h00, but so did every dear eating place in Humansdorp except KFC. So my dinner was a burger.

Room smells musty. No water glass, kettle doesn't come with electric plug, rubbish bin doesn't have a bin in it. Lots of noise early morning and night.

Accommodation was clean and tidy, with everything we needed for an overnight stay. If you are looking for cheaper accommodation for a few days and still want to visit Jbay, then Humansdorp Boutique Hotel is ideal.

We starved because the restaurant mentioned in the advert was closed. We survived from the stuff we had in our cooler bag and a visit to Checkers for take-aways. Safe locked parking area, with lots of shrubs at the back and all around which give the place a pleasant, relaxing feel. It is a clean place, but corridor mats require carpet cleaning and corridor walls could benefit from paint. The rooms are clean, linen good, beds comfortable. We had work to concentrate on and the place served our purpose well. This venue has potential even within its 3-star grading. It could stand out as a feature in the neighbourhood and in the restaurant and hospitality industry as well without great effort.

The restaurant was closed the night I arrived, had to find somewhere to eat. The next morning still no restaurant. Had to find breakfast somewhere else. No hot water, later found out running the hot water tap for 3+ minutes the hot water arrived.

"The smoking hotel."

We only needed to stay at the hotel because we had a wedding in the area. It was affordable, close to the wedding venue and therefore we chose to stay there. I could not recommend the hotel to tourists, unfortunately. Even for that quick stopover on your way through it's not great. When we walked into the hotel, all you smell is cigarette smoke. While the rooms were fine, we knew they were going to be basic, when we arrived one of the rooms we were given was filled with cigarette smoke. It was as if someone had hotboxed it just before we arrived. To be fair, we were given a new room with little fuss and they were very apologetic. The area that is called the "Lounge" is in fact a casino for the locals. Also full of cigarette smoke. The restaurant was not open. All in all, quite a disappointment. I think it should be marketed as a smokers hotel, then they would get very happy "smoking clientele" and not unhappy "non-smoking clientele", if you know what I mean.

Maybe to open the windows before the guest arrives, to prevent unnecessary smell.

Very neat, safe parking for vehicles behind the hotel and the service is very good. Just haven't tried the breakfast but believe it will be of good quality.

The accommodation was clean and tidy, not the ideal location, but safe and good parking. Would have loved a warm shower!

Was clean and tidy and many tourists use it to stay overnight. Everything was then restaurant etc. until January.

There are a few things that could be improved at Humansdorp Boutique Hotel namely towels for the amount of beds in the room. Would prefer an aircon, not a ceiling fan. It's not that cold. The noise at the slot machines late at night would rather go out the back, not through reception.

"We slept well but definitely needed a fan or cooler in the room as it was 33 degrees."

The staff were very friendly and considerate and it is definitely value for money. Our only negative experience was the strong smell of tobacco in the hallway.

I booked and paid for the standard, double bed room (not the budget room). In their photo they show the room with the stoepie etc. We got a smaller room with no veranda. The window had been right next to the air-con fans that made noise all night and the bed was under a window with short curtains through which the sun shone on your face early in the morning. Won't be going back there anytime soon. The silicone in the bathrooms was black moldy and the cold water tap was loose and you couldn't turn it on.

Generally clean and comfortable. Bathroom no place to put toilet bag or soap holder in the shower. Safe undercover parking.

No one at the reception when I arrived. Went through a slot machine area into the bar to find anyone. Gentleman who eventually helped me could not find my booking. He sorted it out, put me in a room above the bar. Half an hour later he knocked and asked if he could move me as it was going to be noisy. The second room was better, but the motor for the airconditioner that cooled the entertainment areas downstairs was outside my window and switched on and off noisily all day/night. No food - restaurant closed, which I think should be on the website.

The old town hotel is very newly renovated! The rooms are clean and tidy. The security and safe parking made it easy to let my elderly parents spend the night there. The fact that Humansdorp is very central in relation to St Francis, Jeffreys Bay and Paradise Beach made it VERY cost effective to see and explore the area. Thank you for your hospitality.
