Neat and a comfortable stay for us as a family.
Mariaan and Johan were the most accommodating and kindest hosts we have ever experienced. We booked last minute accommodation as a bad snow storm hit parts of the N3 that we were travelling on. After booking a cottage at Ibis, Mariaan informed us that unfortunately they were fully booked, but they would be able to accommodate my husband and I in their house. They allowed us to stay in their guest room and treated us like family! They were so warm and welcoming. After spending the first night in their guest room, the snow had not cleared and they allowed us to spend a second night. Without their kind hospitality we would have been stuck in our car for 2 days. It is very rare to find hosts who would welcome you into their home and house you in their guest room, but this is a testament to their kindness and generosity. If you are looking for accommodation in Harrismith, then Ibis Cottages should be the top on your list.
Made to feel very welcome by Mariaan and Johan. Ideal overnight facility between Natal and Limpopo. Would recommend anytime.

Ibis is exactly as described on LekkeSlaap. The hosts, Mariaan and Johan, are so friendly and helpful. Generator during load shedding was a bonus. The room itself is clean, tidy and fully equipped. A perfect overnight stop.

We have stayed at Ibis before overnight to break the holiday trip and have loved it each time! Ibis is comfortable and quiet with little to no noise and is situated close to the Spar which is a good place to go shopping and the La Familia restaurant there is also good. It is situated just off a main road so the roads and access are also good.

On the website there was an option for 2 single beds or one double bed. I chose the double bed option, but on arrival found that this option had not been passed on.
It was more than expected, I would definitely recommend people to spend the night there.

We were in our best when we walked into a neat and clean place late at night with everything we needed. The room had been specially rearranged for us to provide a double bed, and the heater was already on to warm the room on the cold evening. The electric blankets on the beds were an added bonus.
Was pleasant to stay over at this little oasis halfway to Gauteng! The hostess contacted us early to confirm that we're on our way. There was someone to open for us and welcome us. It's conveniently close to the highway (without being bothered by passing traffic). The units are clean, well equipped and there was nothing missing to make it as comfortable as possible! Slept really well and will definitely stay there again when we go down to the mountains!

Very friendly welcome. Upon arrival, the overall appearance is breathtakingly neat. The layout of the overnight apartment is excellent, well thought out! The bathroom, the room, the entrance to the two rooms: five out of five for originality. There are two stickers warning of higher floor levels, Mind Your Step. Ibis 1 has its own private enclosed garden with a braai and a small table with two chairs, excellent! There are not enough words to describe the experience.

The place was well sign posted and was easy to find. The rooms are somewhat confined, but perfect for just spending the night. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom good. The owner was so nice as to store the contents of our coolbag in her own freezer.
