Each Rondavel is privately set in a sub-tropical garden. With own Kitchenette, veranda and braai (barbeque).
Honeymoon Rondavels have air-conditioning, private spa-bath, with views over the garden, mountain and dam. The Honeymoon Rondavels is ideal for romantic getaways.
The rooms adjoin the main house, each having a lounge area within the room, with TV, bathroom en suite, air-conditioning and a kitchenette. The Room has 2 separate entrances, one entrance is close to reception and the other from a private court yard with braai (BBQ) facilities. The Sunbird room also has a small room containing a double bunk bed and its own toilet and basin.
A full English breakfast is served on the verandah of the main house, or should you wish to make an early start to the Kruger National Park, a packed breakfast will be provided.
Idle & Wild is ideally situated for a rejuvenating break in the heart of nature, or exploring the surrounding areas such as Kruger National Park, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Pilgrims Rest and the many waterfalls.
Hot air ballooning, game driveshorse riding, skyway trails, hikes, bass fishing & cycling are just some of the activities in the area.
Restaurants nearby. German and Afrikaans spoken. Wi-Fi available.

Enjoyable and nice time.
Idle & Wild is the example of how rental units should look and be managed. The staff are friendly and helpful while the unit itself exceeded our expectations. It is in a beautiful setting with beautifully laid out gardens and well maintained. We stayed there for two nights while visiting the Kruger National Park. The staff went out of their way to help us, even with directions from where to drive in the Park. The breakfast served was of a high standard, while breakfast was packed for us when we had to leave early in the morning. Idle & Wild is not just an overnight stop, here you have to stay longer.
Before we could get out of the car, the owner was there to welcome us. Our unit was clean and neat, and nothing was wrong. Breakfast was excellent and delicious. Nothing is too much effort for the owners. We'll definitely stay there again next year and already recommended it to our friends.
A family business that made my wife and I part of their family. Gave valuable advice on the places we should visit. Everything exceeded our expectations. Safe and secure, clean and great breakfast.

We had a great time relaxing and the service and friendliness was something to experience. We were able to go for a walk and really enjoyed it. The silence was really fantastic and we could relax quietly by the pool or just sit quietly and read a book. The breakfast was excellent and prepared and presented with great taste. The rondavel has everything we wanted and felt very safe at all times. Thank you very much, we really enjoyed it.
Will definitely visit again. The breakfasts are delicious and the fact that rondavel was serviced daily was a plus. The owners' smiles in the morning make you feel excited for the day ahead. They know the area well and recommendations on attractions were fantastic. The gardens are well looked after and are a treat for the eyes. A lot of emphasis is given to fine detail and the food pack for the wildlife park carried us through the whole day. Packed breakfast. We were definitely very impressed with stay and will come again. Keep it up!
We visited Idle & Wild 15 years ago with our honeymoon and it was great to come back and see that it is just as beautiful. We enjoyed our stayed again and ate breakfast before travelling further.
The Chalet is particularly suitable for one family or two couples, two bedrooms with private bathroom.
Reception was personal and friendly. The gardens and buildings are beautiful and well maintained. The room with hot tub was beautiful with everything sparkling clean and fresh. Breakfast was served on the veranda the next morning and although it was cold the log fire brightened everything up with a warm blanket over the chair ready to throw over your legs or shoulders. The breakfast was freshly prepared while we were drinking coffee and was deliciously hot and tasty. We are going back next year and this time for more than just one night.
It was wonderful and the fact that there is no TV makes it a good destination.
We were in the honeymooners suite. We thought it was overpriced. Breakfast was great though and staff very friendly.
What a fantastic place if you just need to get away from it all. Looked better than the pics. We felt so at home from the moment we arrived until we left. We will definitly be back for a weekend.
Fantastic area. Open plan bathroom not a good idea. Luckily my tavel partner couldn't accompany me because of illness. Heavy blankets on the beds, old and not nice. Otherwise no complaints.

Upon our arrival, our 5 month old son was excited about the long road. We were immediately rushed to the rescue and assisted until our child was himself again. Then began a wonderful 10 long-awaited days. Comfortable accommodation. Beautiful scenery and wonderful staff. Friendly and helpful. First class breakfast and their knowledge of the area helped us fit in as much as possible with our time in the area. We as a family really enjoyed it and you made our way back feel so short. We could only talk about your warm humanity and nice stay. Here where I sit and get cold in South America, my heart just warms to think of you. For us as a family see you again.

We had an awesome time at Idle & Wild. The rondavels are beautiful and tastefully furnished. The bed slept like a dream and they take care of every need with small touches here and there. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to assist at all times. The gardens are beautiful, relaxing and the small dam offers any fisherman a chance to catch some bass - my husband thoroughly enjoyed his fishing time. As a first time four wheeler - it was awesome (scary and wild for those who love adventure) and the guides are fantastic. We will definitely be staying there again in the future! Thanks to everyone who made our "honeymoon" special.
