Our hosts thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. From extra snacks to citra soda in the bathroom. We fell short of nothing.
Idle Winds offers a safe, clean, and relaxing accommodation atmosphere. Much attention is given, even to the smallest detail, to ensure a welcome arrival as well as a comfortable stay. The braai and pool facilities are cleaned spotless daily. Your host is always available should you have any requests or need information about the surrounding areas. Load-shedding is not a problem!
Where to begin! We've booked Idle Winds multiple times and our expectations were met above and beyond each time. We would definitely refer Idle Winds to anyone in need of accommodation or just to refresh to this amazing place! We'll be back soon.
Very clean, with all amenities and totally lovingly equipped, large self-catering accommodation in the middle of Gordon's Bay. Although there are a few stairs to negotiate, a stay there is worthwhile especially because of the totally friendly hosts, who are always on hand with help and advice.

A good break, but just a pity that we were not informed in advance about workers who were busy working on the upper floor. Was a big disturbance in the mornings while we still wanted to lie down.
We had an excellent stay. This was our second stay at Idle Winds and we experienced the same 5-star treatment from our hosts. You can walk in, make a cup of coffee and start a braai immediately (if you have meat of course!). Everything is there from coffee, tea, sugar, bottled water to fire starters and briquettes! They spoil their guests with small welcome snacks like chocolates, biltong and biscuits - a real treat! As always, the accommodation is clean, neat and tidy and well decorated. The unit is also on inverter backup which provides lights and TV during load shedding. We will always go back to Idle Winds when we visit in Gordons Bay. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Hansie is the most thoughtful, gracious host. I and my husband did not expect what we found when we arrived, the meet and greet from the owners Hansie and his friendly wife. We were amazed by all the nice sweet stuff that was placed in the unit for us, not many people do that. I can go on and on, it is definitely a must return soon even if it is just for one night, just to get that feeling of listening and smelling the sea because where we live we are surrounded by mountains. Quiet surroundings and neat, clean and spacious accommodation.
Had a great time. The stairs are a challenge, especially if you are 60 and over, but otherwise very nice.
I went home in the Garden Terrace. This is a lovely spacious unit and very private. The private patio is nicely sheltered from the wind. You almost don't want to go anywhere and just hang out there and by the pool all the time.
We booked for 3 nights but actually would have liked to stay longer. Idle Winds is the best equipped guest house we have stayed in yet. Attention has been given to every possible little thing one could need during their stay - too many to mention! It goes without saying that it is painfully neat, spotless and 100% safe, but the location and view and the owners' friendliness and helpfulness mean that we will definitely visit there again. 5 Stars for Idle Winds!

Not our first stay in Gordon’s Bay but our first stay at Harbour Terrace. The self-catering accommodation is modern, very comfortable and extremely clean. The owners are super friendly and took much time and effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable. On arrival, we were met with bottles of red and white wine, a substantial pack of snacks and lots of attention to detail: candles and floral attributes. The facilities are great too – beautiful pool, private deck with stunning views, gym and in close proximity to the beach. Highly recommended. Had a wonderful stay!

Firstly the hospitality of the owners is so amazing, we were welcomed with open arms (literally), the unit is so so beautiful, it was so much more than we expected. We stayed in the Garden Terrace and were overwhelmed and amazed with the hospitality of Hansie and Fienie. Everything was clean and tidy and there were more treats than we could use up. Sometimes you know you get more than you pay for and this place is one of those treasures for sure. We will definitely go back again and send all our friends there. Close enough to the harbor and places to eat and a swimming pool, DStv and private gym if you just want to chill. Don't even hesitate about this apartment, it's worth it. The owners of the place was absolutely friendly, inviting and so friendly. The place is neat and tidy and so much to offer. From bathing towels to needle and thread to hairdryers. The place really has a lot to offer. Oh my word! Don't get me started on the snacks, it was too much but yet such an amazing and generous gesture from the owners side. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who assisted us down with our bags. Hansie ensured that we were satisfied with our stay at Idle Winds. The place is so peaceful a real relaxing environment. All the facilities was clean up until the Weber. It was only me and my husband and we didn't braai much but our outdoor braai box was consistently full and new charcoal and fire lighters was readily available every day. The pool are was clean, safe and so relaxing. I would refer anyone to this lovely place and would go there again.
