I would rate them 5/5. Their service is great, Johan was so friendly and welcoming, which made everything easier. The view is to die for. Since it's winter they make sure that you have enough blankets and a heater to keep yourself warm. We really enjoyed our stay, and planning to come back with friends next time.

What a neat place! Fully satisfied. We lacked nothing. Off-white bed linen and towels. I am satisfied with the stay. All that bothered me a bit is the sound of the vehicles on the main road. The view is beautiful! Well done!
Everything very neat and well organized. The only problem was the noise of strange music and shouting over speakers. The moto-cross track right next to Idwala also gave us headaches. Furthermore, very nice walking and the luxury tent was pleasant. Hekpoort and surrounding areas are more of a playground for Gautengers with motorbikes and party goers. No peace and quiet.
The location on the mountain is fantastic and in the summer it will be even more beautiful. The communal pool also looks lovely, just a shame it's still a bit too cold for swimming.

Nice place to clear your mind.
We had a wonderful stay, the place is beautiful. However we did experience some hostile treatment when 2 of our guests made the mistake of thinking they were allowed to use the other private pool (which the 2 guests only put their feet in the water as they were fully clothed). It was a misunderstanding and even though we admitted that we were in the wrong, the lodge staff immediately assumed the worst of us and even fined us for making use of the jacuzzi that we didn't come close to. Also the stuff were already standing at the door an hour before our checking out time with no masks on. It felt like we were being chased out even though we were already taking out our bags at 9am.
