61 guests' feedbackAmazing! Wonderful home, was fantastic, we had buffalo and elephant visit us, everything needed for a memorable holiday was available.
We had a great stay, and would highly recommend Idwala View.
The house is spacious and very well appointed. The boma area has lots of camping chairs and a hand basin, which came in very handy, and we spent every night under the stars until late. Very tame Nyala and Kudu visit the pond next to the pool every morning.
The accommodation is very organised and keeps you updated on everything. Idwala View - Mabalingwe Nature Reserve has everything that you may need and more.
I celebrated my birthday here, and it was just perfect!
Stunning, lovely location, quick from JHB.
This was our second stay at Idwala View. That should indicate how highly we rate it. 10/10.
The owner was very helpful and responded immediately to WhatsApp messages and emails. We did not struggle with any logistical arrangements and the use of the facilities because all the necessary information was received in advance and was clearly laid out. We definitely recommend the accommodation!
The accommodation was beyond expectations and the view and everything was just very beautiful and fantastic. Our game drive was also special and we saw many animals. The Boma and reception area at Idwala View - Mabalingwe Nature Reserve is very comfortable and relaxed. Will return again.
The house is very well equipped, especially very family and child friendly. Lea's communication and response is very good. This was our third visit to Mabalingwe and our second stay at Idwala View. We would love to come back.
Great family time in beautiful surroundings.
This is a fantastic place to stay. Luxury rooms each with its own bathroom and room for a mattress or two for visiting children. Kitchen and living area unbeatable with everything one needs for cooking and socializing. The patio area has plenty of seating with a covered bar area and lovely swing sofas. With the storm we experienced, we were safe and dry. There is a cute little pool where one can enjoy drinks, with a net for child safety. The cleaners cleaned everything nicely and ensured a worry-free pleasant visit. Lea kept us up to date with information and help. Solar worked perfectly during power outages. We would absolutely recommend Idwala View 100%!
Idwala view was nothing but fantastic! We had a wonderful time. The house is excellently equipped with absolutely everything you can think of that you could possibly need. Lea is incredibly organized. I've stayed at many places but never in my life have I come across someone so super organized. Thanks for a wonderful weekend Lea.
We were a large group of family who went to Idwala View for an important birthday. What an incredible experience. The house is beautiful, Lea thought of everything, was absolutely 5 star from start to finish. We are already planning the next time when we can go to Idwala View again.
Perfect location, clean, tidy with a beautiful view.
Lea's attention to detail is above and beyond. Very responsive to any issues. Second stay at Idwala View, and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay.
Was very impressed with the house. Everything was very neat and clean. All necessary information was passed on in a timely manner and feedback was lightning fast. We asked for an extra baby cot and when we arrived it was there, beautifully covered with the cutest bedding. I definitely recommend this place. The owner, Lea Duckitt, was particularly friendly and helpful.
It was a really lovely family week and we enjoyed every moment. Everything you can think of is in the house. Each room was nice and tidy and the beds and pillows slept wonderfully. The children enjoyed the pool and the evenings around the boma were so cozy. The last night the elephants came to visit the house ended the week perfectly. Thank you Lea for your kindness and hospitality. We will definitely visit Idwala View again!
Idwlala is a perfect Bushveld getaway. The house is spacious and the large, en suite rooms provide privacy and comfort. Excellent kitchen and braai facilities. The boma is a big bonus, you can make a delicious fire and continue visiting deep into the night. The children were obsessed with the pool. Wonderful feeling life, and lots of kudus came to visit daily. The game drive vehicle was also a bonus. Highly recommend.
I am an avid bush holiday lover and Idwala View truly surpassed expectations. Me and my large group of friends truly enjoyed every minute! Lea is a wonderful, attentive host and ensured we were well taken care of. Will definitely be back the next time I am in South Africa!
We went away as a whole family for the first time in a long time. Lea and her team went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The house is very well equipped and had everything we wanted! This family will definitely visit Idwala View again!
Perfect house for a getaway with friends or family! Beautiful view of the reserve. The house is equipped with everything you can think of! Each room is stylish and has its own bathroom. Will definitely go again.
The house is very comfortable and the owner goes out of her way to ensure you have a wonderful stay. We had 4 small children and we felt very safe with them.
Enjoy wonderful togetherness with the family.
Will definitely go again.
Idwala View is beautiful and tidy and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. The children really enjoyed the hot pool and it was a lifesaver. We would love to visit again.
We really enjoyed it! We would have liked to have a door to the upstairs room as there was very little privacy as we had people sleeping in the loft as well. Other than that everything was really fantastic! We will definitely be back.
The ambience was amazing. Fully equipped home. Kids loved the pool. Swing on patio was very relaxing.
Clean, tidy, luxurious, good service. Was an absolute pleasure. Thank you Lea.
Idwala View is truly five star quality. We enjoyed every moment. All that bothered were the cleaners who had arrived early to clean up after our departure. It makes you feel a little rushed. They also said on our inquiry that we should wash all dishes. We have already packed and switched on the dishwasher. In my inquiry to the owner she said we did not have to wash the rest of the dishes - unfortunately already rushed to get it done before 10am. Maybe just a misunderstanding.
Was very nice and clean. Very nice living area and kitchen. Would not be able to live without the pool. Had an incredible weekend.
Idwala View is absolutely amazing. Lea is the perfect hostess and was always available to answer questions. Nothing is too much for her. There is so much attention to fine detail in every room in the house. We could just go, unload luggage and fully enjoy the time there. Hiring the wildlife viewing vehicle was also an excellent decision. It is so nice to experience nature in such a way with your family. Kudus came to greet us every evening ─ wonderful to be so close to nature. A few extra days would have been ideal. Visits on the large stoep and at the boma were particularly special. Many thanks also to Lea for the special gesture for my 60th birthday. Our family will definitely go back to Idwala lodge again.
Idwala view is a lovely house, well equipped, you don't have to take anything extra. The outside deck is cozy to sit and enjoy the beautiful views. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The boma is very nice in the evenings. Would recommend the house and would love to go there again.
Lea made us feel at home and welcome. Will definitely recommend.
What a great place, Lea is a wonderful host. Out of all our visits to Mabalingwe, this one definitely was the best. Idwala view will see us again soon. 10/10!
Can definitely recommend Idwala View! It was so much fun to celebrate a birthday there! Everything was there, even the stuff we forgot to take along. We slept well and even though we were a large group, each had his own privacy. The views are breathtaking and the trails in the reserve are great for adventurists! Lea went out of her way to make things as comfy as possible.
The house is beautiful and spacious with an incredible view! Everything is clean and of excellent quality. It was lovely to cool off in the beautiful swimming pool and hang out around the boma in the evening. The wildlife viewing vehicle is very reliable. I would highly recommend Idwala View.
So nice to stay in a house that's properly maintained! Beautiful view, excellently equipped and Lea's personal attention made it one of the best getaways ever!
You can`t really fault this place. It`s got everything you need and much more. Getting assistance is a breeze. I would definitely go back!
We were at Idwala View for a long weekend with children of different ages. The house was great, lots of space for everyone and the rooms are nice and big. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is everything your heart desires. We had a great holiday and I would definitely recommend Idwala View again and I will definitely go back.
We celebrated my 50th with grandmothers great-grandfather, children and grandchildren. I couldn't ask for a more lovely place. The house is lovely and comfortable with a lot of space, and everything you could think of was available. Lea kept me up to date with everything we had to know and wanted to know. I can highly recommend this place for bigger groups that need a getaway. Next time I will definitely book an entire week.
Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Tranquil environment and management and personnel very helpful and prompt. Will visit again.
If it had been a little warmer it would have been even more pleasant. Will pick a warmer month next time. It was still great.
A piece of heaven. Fireplace in the living room. Awesome deck. Every possible electrical gadget you can dream of. Leah is the best.
From the moment we opened the door we fell in love with the house, amazing view and the roaming of wild animals made our stay unbelievable. Our host, Lea, you can not ask for a better one! So helpful and caring! We will definitely come back again, was sad to leave.
We had a lovely weekend at Idwala View and would definitely recommend and visit again in the future!
The stay at Idwala View was wonderful, any nature lover will enjoy it very much. The house has everything and more and is beautiful.
We had a wonderful time at Idwala View. We rented the entire house plus the deck rooms. The house is very well equipped with everything that you can possibly need, including a coffee machine (bring filter coffee, we forgot), dishwasher and washing machine with cleaning tablets, a blender etc etc. The bedrooms are very comfortable, the linen is of a high quality. There is an outside braai at the boma and also a gas braai if the weather is not so good. Our children loved the splash pool. The information that I received before our visit was informative and useful. The children loved the game drives in our own vehicle. Gives you more flexibility with younger children. Peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings.
Idwala View completely exceeded all our expectations. Lea was an amazing host from the small touches of welcoming us to being available anytime we had a question to just having an extremely beautifully kept home. Will definitely return and would absolutely recommend this as a perfect vacation spot to anyone including families with children. So peaceful and beautiful, couldn’t speak more highly of our over all experience.
Everything was perfect. From initial information shared right through to a wonderful stay in a majestic place. Already planning a return trip!
We enjoyed our stay and Lea was very helpful and kind. I would recommend staying at Idwala to anyone visiting Mabalingwe.
Lovely stay. Not ideal for young children. Instructions from Mabalingwe gate not very clear, can be improved. About 10 km from the gate on a narrow tar road not fit for two way traffic. Setting really beautiful and everything you can wish for concerning luxury stay in nature.
We enjoyed the weekend very much. The house is tidy, very beautiful and everything you need is there. Thank you very much Lea, I would recommend Idwala to anyone.
Great stay and visit at Idwala View. Beautiful view, well appointed house with enough of everything! Even games for entertainment. Lovely porch to hang out at any time of the day in any weather! Idwala view is highly recommended!
Couldn't have asked for a better place. Everything you need is already there, more than enough plates etc.
Beautiful place that is well appointed. Lovely wooden deck with the most beautiful view. Visited every day by warthog and kudus. Lea was very helpful. Would definitely go again and recommend.
Idwala View was the perfect place to stay during the Lion Man trailseekers cycling race. After a tiring day on the bikes, we enjoyed the beautiful sunset on the lovely furnished deck with a glass of red wine. The boma is ideal for a braai with friends. The bedrooms are spacious and five-star.
The accommodation is wonderful and has everything you need. Lea Duckitt is very friendly and helpful.
Lea was very helpful from the start with arrangements, important contact numbers, etc. Everything was nicely clean and neatly laid out for us. The house is very well furnished, with the finest detail in every room. Full package TV and Wi-Fi is a bonus for the whole family. The most beautiful view of the reserve. Porch with swimming pool is very nice and the boma area for sitting around the fire late at night. We really enjoyed the weekend and will definitely visit Idwala View again in the future.
We supplied you with a list of small shortcomings , such as bins that were vandalised by baboons, regardless of our efforts to secure the bins. Baboons also ransacked the outside fridge and broke bottles of wine and ciders. We would recommend that you safeguard these amenities. Regardless of this, we found the stay very rewarding.
Peaceful, relaxing and very beautiful view.
