Enjoyed a lot. Meet our expectation. Rooms a little tight but acceptable - mostly outside in the day. TVs enormous. As in the photos. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and surprisingly what you see on the website is what you get at the guesthouse. However, we were told by one of the staff members who were on duty cleaning the rooms and preparing breakfast that check out time was 10 am and not 11 am, and that they wanted to knock off. So, I explained to her that according to the confirmation we received, check out time is at 11 am. She then rolled her eyes and said, 'Oh, okay,' and walked away. The same lady, who I can describe as short in height, came to us while eating breakfast and said with an irritated attitude that we should close the breakfast containers properly as there were flies around. I would suggest that the staff receive proper customer service training as it's clear that they lack in that area. Other than that, well done overall.

It's a beautiful place that almost lives up to its 4-star status. Positive: Very good linen and bed, huge tvs in the rooms, huge air conditioning in every room, fresh towels daily, nice breakfast, nice fridge in the room, usb points at every power point for phones etc. to charge, just 2 km from NWU, secure parking with own remote key, friendly staff, everything very clean, beautiful dining hall. The things that could be better: The family suite consists of 2 small rooms with a shower/sink/toilet in the middle, it is much smaller than expected. The family suite is for 4 people and there are only 3 mugs and 3 glasses available. There are no 2-prong plugs for the bedside lights, had to buy them myself. The toilet seat had cut notches in it. One bedside table's drawer handle was off. Not enough space to hang 4 people's wet towels. The family suite for 4 people does not have a balcony or veranda. We had a nice stay for 4 nights, when we got over the above little things. It's a beautiful place, which with a little attention could be 10/10.

WiFi was advertised. Upon inquiring with the lady, I was told that the WiFi was "up". The front door where everyone enters has elaborate wheels, so it makes a terrible noise when someone wants to go in or out at night. Other than that, no complaints. The room was clean and tidy, and everything worked.

We definitely had a great stay and were amazed at what we got for the cost. The breakfast was good. Small problems: The bed was harder than we are used to. The TV's remote control did not work. The WiFi password was not given to us.

Not happy with what was shown on the website compared to what we got. The room was dirty, and the bathroom was absolutely shocking - the mould build-up and grouting was actually orange from the dirt and mould, and it was not cleaned. The shower door was broken, the shower head was so clogged up and disgusting, water only came out of a few holes, and the rubber of the shower door was coming off. The cupboard door hinges were broken. The most concerning was the blood droplets and stains on the bedding. We tried other accommodation on arrival; however, everything was fully booked. The breakfast was terrible, the serving bowls were cracked, and the food was cold - what was offered was undercooked bacon, simply chicken viennas, cold scrambled eggs, and baked beans. The only coffee on offer was sachets of coffee. We struggled to get in; even though a number was given to dial, nobody answered. The host wasn't a very good host; she basically told us that our comments were very strange and were the first people to complain. She leaves at 5 in the afternoon, and we did not see her for the rest of the weekend; all guests were left walking around and trying to find out what to do with keys, etc., upon departure. The only good thing there is to say is about the ladies who cleaned; they were very friendly and helpful.

Very happy with our stay! Rooms and facilities were neat and tidy, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

"Little sleep over people making noise in guest house."

Place is clean, but during the night there was someone's radio or TV very loud so I slept badly. The breakfast is also not very tasty, is made long before the time and only kept warm so the eggs were probably not tasty. We also couldn't pick up the WiFi in our room at all and there was no paper anywhere like in many other places with the WiFi's name or code.

Breakfast was nice. Shower in Falcon room's shower head too close to the wall so a bit of a struggle with low water pressure etc. Would rather take a room in the back. Music plays throughout the night in breakfast room which was a bit annoying. No other issues.

We stayed two nights in the family room. Neat but room maintenance needs attention. Bedside cabinet handle broken, rooflight light shade in cupboard. Bathroom by arrangement. Family room has no space where four people can sit together and visit. Never got anyone at reception for the two days. So could not ask for WiFi password. Only kitchen staff in the guest house. The lady was very friendly and helpful. Sheet shows there are braai facilities but we couldn't find any items to use. If you do not travel with your own cutlery you cannot use the facilities at all. I asked if we could use the kitchen and the lady said that we should ask reception. Breakfast was served in a plate covered with plastic wrap. We ate very well but the bread was soggy. Could see that food was pre-made and reheated.

First, it was difficult to get hold of staff to gain access to the guest house. There is no bell at the gate, and the phone just rings. Second, there is security on site, but they don't shut up drunk guests. I will not stay there again. I expected much more for a place with 4 stars. The bathroom is not of high quality, and it is very noticeable that certain parts were replaced a long time ago, such as e.g. the toilet seat. I wonder why there are no photos of them. We stayed in the Falcon room.

"No one answered the phone so we were outside for quite a while before we could get hold of someone to let us in. "

There is no bell or intercom. Not even an apology for the wait. There was hardly any water coming out of the shower so we couldn't shower. Other guests were noisy. Dietary requirements are not checked, breakfast is put on a plate and given to you, with no choice in what you want. The staff constantly seemed to struggle to get hold of the manager who wasn't even there. I would never stay here again.

We were very disappointed in the Guest House. Definitely not 4 star. The Family Room was not clean at all. Cobwebs in almost every corner of the room. One bed was covered in spider eggs that had fallen from the roof. None of the overhead lights worked. None of the rooms or the bathroom had a working roof light. We had to try to stretch one of the bedside lamps so that there could be some light in the bathroom for showering. We couldn't even use the second room's bedside lamps because they have 2-prong plugs and the power plugs in the wall are for 3-prong plugs? The toilet roll holder was dismantled and left as is. The "coffee station" has Cremora and brown sugar but no coffee? (Unfortunately we found this out when we got home from the wedding at 12 o'clock in the evening, so unfortunately I couldn't ask anyone for coffee). Breakfast: No boiling water for coffee. Had to ask for boiling water later. No white sugar for breakfast porridge. No butter for the toast. We didn't have a choice for breakfast. They brought us a ready-to-serve plate of breakfast that was wrapped in cling film. The toast, which was half a slice of brown and half a slice of white bread, was mushy. You could see that the breakfast had been heated at one time with the cling film left over.

I never complain when I come to Potch but in this instance I need to voice my opinion. The place is extremely clean when you walk through. We booked in after 1, we had to then leave for a function. We only got back to the guest house pretty late. The light in the second bedroom did not work, it did not bother me because we had bedside lamps. The sheet in the main room had brown marks on it and therefore we had to sleep on the top sheet - I did not complain because this for me seemed petty. The bed closest to the door in the room was not level it kept on rocking while turning but I also felt that I could not bother anyone that time of night. We were woken up on a Sunday morning with loud music at 6:15 by the lady sleeping in the room next to us. None of the staff picked up the noise - my husband had to go and knock on her door to ask her to turn down the music. Then my real problem happened when we went for the breakfast that was included in the package. This was a disaster. We made coffee and sat down only to find out that the urn was never put on so the water never boiled. I did not complain only laughed it off, kept quiet and drank the cold coffee because I do not like to complain. We were busy eating cereal when two ladies came in and put a plate of food in front of us. This is where I have a problem. No "Good Morning". It was pre-made, everything was dished out already - it was cold - the toast were soggy and they did not even grant us the courtesy to ask who eats what. They returned to the kitchen without speaking a single word to us, they did not even make eye contact. My husband then went to the kitchen to ask them for fresh toast - not everyone eats butter on toast after it has been made and it only has to be eaten 3 hours later - a lady came in about 5 minutes later plonking 2 slices of toast on a plate on the table and her words were "here" turned around and walked away. We were 4 people. These ladies are the face of the establishment. We come to Potch every second week and felt like trying a new place. They can all do with some people skill training you do not treat people like that? I told my husband that due to this I will not be returning there. If you have friendly staff then a place will always draw you back even if there are tiny problems here and there.

There was no one at reception. There was a double booking and we could not get a family room. Breakfast was said not until 07:30, and when we left at 06:45 2 guests were eating breakfast.

The rooms are beautiful, large and well equipped. Check in was quick and efficient. Attention can be given to things such as small repairs in the room and bathrooms (slow draining of water, "moldy grout" in the shower, bedside lamps without plugs) and it would be very convenient if there was a microwave oven available on the premises for the guests can be.

We arrived at INWN at the beginning of check-in time and no one answered for at least two hours. We had to get dressed for the wedding in our car outside INWN gate which was mortifying. We also missed the brides entrance to the wedding as we waited outside. Hours go by and we get into contact with INWN and arrange to arrive back at a certain time and we were promised the gates would be open. When arriving on the exact time we had given them we stood outside for another hour and still to this day have heard absolutely nothing, not even an apology or explanation for this absolutely horrid service when you were the ones who accepted the stay and the deposit.
