What do you get for R500 a night these days? Not much, so when I found it here I was pleasantly surprised.
It's not too far from the airport, had to pick someone up. It seems to me the towel is a problem because we only got one too. On arrival we were told that our stay did not include breakfast. Just keep that in mind. There was a microwave upstairs near our room and we could sit and eat on the veranda.
Took a long time to check into our room after arrival, seemingly for no reason. Place is very clean, but bathtub was dirty, otherwise a better mark could have been awarded for cleanliness. Room is very different from what is shown in photos. Received only 2 towels for 4 people, no sink towel, but was later corrected when we asked. No provision for ladies like a mirror, seat etc. to put on make-up or do hair. Not very good value for money.
On arrival they didn't know about me.
No provision has been made for coffee/tea in the room. There was only one bath towel and no towels available. No hand wash soap. The window across the bed has only a bamboo blind which allows the rising sun to shine fully on the bed in the early morning. The furniture in the entrance hall on the upper level is dirty. The site's garden is beautiful, but the room was sub-standard.
The only problem I had was the breakfast. We were served the same breakfast for 3 days. A guy named Mike welcomed us and he was with us for the whole long weekend, he served us breakfast and was always there when we needed him. I give him 10/10 for his service. He was so patient with us, because we will leave early and come back very late, but he will be there to open the gate for us.

Would recommend Ikaze Guesthouse, warm welcome, place very clean and quiet, and the breakfast was very tasty and they are very helpful.
The guest house is neat and the person who helped us friendly, but the reservation included breakfast, but we did not receive 1 of the mornings breakfast or even coffee. It was quite disappointing as we had to be at school early for netball.
We did not get what was confirmed on booking. One towel for two guests. No coffee facilities in the room as advertised. No breakfast available, although booking showed breakfast included. They did have a quaggo generator for load shedding.
We booked a king-size bed and we got 2 single beds put together, we are a couple, only 1 towel was supplied, initially, we had to ask for the other. No tea or coffee was supplied, initially we had to ask. There is a fire extinguisher on the landing, which should have been serviced I think in 2020, this was not done and this provides a serious fire hazard. The guy who greeted us knew there was no breakfast and he said it's happened on numerous occasions and it's not right but it seems the management doesn't do anything about it. The hand shower is broken.
Was a bit disappointed cause I thought it's a full self-catering place. But the guys made it worth my while. I wont hesitate to go back. It's centrally situated. Clean, warm and safe.
Friendly staff. Problems on arrival were resolved within the same day.
Other guests made noise when we wanted to sleep. Must have been family visiting together.
The family room was wonderfully spacious. The staff were friendly and the breakfast adequate.

Money payed months in advance and confirmed it. Upon arrival they stuffed the place with 70 people and there wasn't a room for us. Pathetic!
We had a great stay. Very friendly staff. Neat guesthouse.
We are disappointed about a few things. Hand shower couldn't close completely whilst running the water for a bath, and the fitting for the hand shower-stand was broken. No warm water to shower in the morning. What should have been a warm breakfast turned out to be cold.
Ikaze Guest House is very central, clean and tidy.
The guest house advertises that they are available until 22:00 to receive guests. By 17:00 a lady had called and asked what time we were going to check in. Unfortunately we couldn't check in earlier and were called again at 21:30 to find out where we were. This made us rush nervously through the unfamiliar town to be on time. On our arrival we had to learn that the previous guests had not yet moved out and we had to sleep at another guest house. We were quite unhappy with the arrangement.
No complaints. It was clean, tidy and peaceful. Air conditioning would be a recommendation.

The pipes in the wall in my room that I was placed in the first night, made a noise the whole night. I then requested to move rooms which they did. They advertise WiFi, but it was not working the entire stay. The signal strength was too low to connect to. They also advertise DSTV which they only had 2 TV channels, eTV and M-Net Action. They were unprepared for load shedding which they gave me a charged lamp, but went flat a minutes after. I asked for candles which burnt out in a few hours. The next day a generator was installed, but I did not stay long enough to comment on if it worked or not. The breakfast was cold in the mornings, and not very appetizing which resulted in eating corn flakes most mornings. There was only rooibos tea available, and they did not top up the used tea and sugar in the rooms. I did ask for a refill of the tea and sugar but never got it. I did make most of my unhappiness known, and they did apologise but nothing was ever done to correct. Overall I did not enjoy my stay at all! They need to step up, a lot.
The room is clean and tidy, we were surprised by what we got for the little money we paid. We also felt safe. The only item that needed attention was the gutter that is above the door.
