26 guests' feedbackWe have been visiting Inkosana since 2014 when Ed was still the owner. It is one of our favourite places because of the location and the setting. I really like what the new management has done to the lodge and the property. Everything is very neat and clean. We stayed in a rondavel with en-suite bathroom. I love how you can just walk out your door into the wild garden in front of the rondavels with spectacular mountain views. Next time we will try one of the glamping tents. They look fantastic and we prefer to self-cater. Unfortunately, this option is no longer available if you stay in the lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My only negative feedback would be regarding the restaurant. Even though the food was tasty and it is conveniently located on the property, we felt that the prices were much too high for the quantity of food given.
We were kindly received. The peaceful atmosphere immediately made us relax after a long drive. We found the lodge easily and it was nice and close to the Drakensberg Boys' School, where we wanted to be.
Lovely stay at Inkosana Lodge. When one drives from Winterton through to the Central Drakensberg the landscape starts to change, then suddenly the majestic Drakensberg landscape and mountains opens up before your eyes and you enter a place where your soul truly rests. Inkosana Lodge, nestled within the majestic Drakensberg, is a true gem hidden within the bushy plains of the berg and offers guests a true bush and mountain experience. From the accommodation to the food offered at the lodge is top class. The hostess and owner, Karen, is friendly and professional. The four-legged friends on the property also add a homely feel. If you want to sleep well, have total silence and see a beautiful starry sky, this is the place for you. The pool deck is a lovely place to unwind after a day of adventure and the braai areas are clean and offer a unparalleled view of the berg in all its splendor. Highly recommended!

The hut was decent enough! No complaints. Staff provided good service.
When we arrived there was no one at reception and my husband went to call someone in the kitchen. We were then informed that the "geyser" of the rondavel we booked was broken, but they "upgraded" us to one of the rooms. We did request that if they get it right, we would like to move. We were then in a family room with a double bed and 2 bunk beds, which is part of the lodge. Room was very tight for the two of us, so I really don't know how a family of 4 with luggage will fit in there. We were disappointed, we wanted to stay away from the lodge in the rondaweltjie. No toilet roll holder and no shelf/box in the bathroom where you could unpack your bathroom bag. No small fridge to keep a bottle of wine cold. For the price of the room, such basic things should be there. We booked late so our options were limited, however the difference in price for the basic rondavel we booked versus if we were to go now is R320.00 per night! For a basic places without TV/fridge etc. is it a lot! I think their "off season" prices are more in line with what you get. Little lady who works in kitchen checked us out again, she mentioned that the manager is sick. It's a lovely setting though, and we sat outside a lot. The sunset at the natural pool is beautiful.
Within a nice area and good location. Rooms are clean and neatly furnished and meet the basic requirements for an overnight stay while we are travelling. We were 3 families staying overnight - not much to do on site. Not allowed to bring any booze but the 'Bar' was very disappointing and only had 1 rare beer and wine. There were builders on site who also stayed overnight and made noise late into the evening. This caused our room to be without hot water the next morning, which was a big problem for our family with children. The meals are a fixed menu and we couldn't choose ourselves, so some people didn't eat everything. The rooms are neat and there is no fault, but attention is needed to make it more attractive in the future.
Compliments to the chef and staff. Food was out of this world. Could have a kettle in the rondavel for coffee in the mornings.
For the price we paid, I expected more. Staff missing the customer interaction required for this type of accommodation. Beautiful location but improvement needed on the rooms and guest relations.

The room was dusty, the curtains on the bed were loose and about to fall off, and we had to walk a long distance from where we parked our cars to our rooms. The pool was dirty, it had a sign of entering at your own risk. We only slept for one night and left.
Place is beautifully maintained and tidy would be able to recommend it for an overnight stop. People very friendly and helpful.
Just stayed over for two nights. Safe, clean and tidy. Used as a base for activities in the area.
Provisions were made for load shedding and cabin has heaters in it and very comfortable beds! Cars sleep outside under a canopy, but don't feel unsafe. Lovely fireplace to sit by and read and farm pond to swim in (was a bit green but they keep it of course). Breakfast was delicious, but it's a shame it's not included in the amount we pay per night. No drinks come with the breakfast either. I suggest they make a menu with everything that is included and not included with the amounts that the extra stuff costs. WiFi only picks up in the main room. In general, we had a great stay and the view of the mountains is always magical! Staff is very friendly and helpful!
Centrally located and very comfortable.
It's very rare that a place is better than the photos show. Our rondavel was beautiful, the view was great, and the location was good - there was a lot to do on the same road.
Almost everything worked and the shower head was fixed within an hour of reporting it not attached. The staff did not rush us even though we did not leave exactly on time and were willing to be flexible on arrival when able. The cleaning staff were discreet and accommodated our program. The food was of a very good standard.
There is not much to do. Unless you like walking.
Aircon would be bonus, luckily good downpour cooled.
What an unexpected cremation. A wonderful place to stay that makes extra effort to make us and the children as comfortable as possible. Very peaceful, quiet environment located in beautiful natural scenery. Would definitely recommend for families with small and teenage children. Lamb brijani was a winner!
